  • When you visit Rock Springs Kelly Park for the first time it can be a little confusing about where to go and what to do. This video will help familiarize you to the layout of the park before your first visit.
    In real time you will see the journey from the park entrance... to the parking lot... to the main pool area... and finally to the head spring and down the entire run (first run + pool area + second run).
    We visited on Friday** morning, June 18, 2021 @9:30 AM.
    **ON WEEKENDS YOU MUST ARRIVE EARLIER OR PARK WILL BE FULL AND YOU WILL BE TURNED AWAY!
    Always call first to verify the park is open.

    I have lived here for 30 yrs, and this is still my most favorite spot in Fl. It's peaceful, beautiful, relaxing, the water is invigorating, especially when it's 100 out, it's like a little slice of heaven, right here on earth. Better than any theme park

    is it possible to go for a hike and then go to the springs after? I would like to do a hike first but am afraid that the hike location and the spring parking is separate and they wouldn't let my car in after hiking.

    Are there any gators around? I heard you can expect to see alligators any where in Florida.

    • @beinghenderson
      @beinghenderson  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gators are possible, but I've never seen one there. I have heard about gators showing up in other springs in the area (Blue Spring, Wekiva Springs) but it is fairly rare.

    HI! OMGosh thank you thank you thank you so much for posting this amazing video!!!! This was so so helpful! You are so good at this, I would love to see you do videos of the others Florida springs!! :) I have a question, do you know about how far it is from the end of the spring back to the second spring entry the I believe there are stairs? . My mother would love this but she can only walk about 1/4-1/2 mile tops at a time.. and she would need a gentle beach entry and/or stairs to get in (rather than sliding off the rocks into the spring) bc she has limited mobility and. Thank you in advanced!!

    Are you able to walk the entire spring run ?

    • @beinghenderson
      @beinghenderson  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The very beginning of the run at the spring head is deep. But quickly gets shallow at the bridge. Some sections are hard to walk on because of big rocks. I actually tripped and cut my knee making this video.

      You can rent tubes at the "Rock Springs Bar & Grill" just outside the park. They do not rent tubes inside the park. You can also bring your own tube.

      @@beakoe8334 I would highly recommend.. you can bring your own tubes or rent them by the red light intersection before you go into Kelly Park. Bring under water camera and snorkel gear too. It shouldn’t be crowed right now. Float all the way down to the end. It’s a joy and feels like you’re in the Amazon with clear water.
