Hardest choices requires the Strongest will...Kevin was a hero till he died even if ppl think he is a villain towards the end. He is the only person that cared most for the trio and loved the humanity more than anything bcoz thats what dr.mei wanted to protect and gave her life for which is why he was able to stand tall even when the humanity stood against him and he became a step for the trio to gain more power and understand the weight of that power as well as the responsibility that comes with such great power. If Otto did the most selfish thing a man can do for his love...then Kevin did the most selfless thing a man can do for his love Dr.Mei. He loved everything she cared bout and made her smile. He was just a goofy dude who loved a girl so much he took upon her dreams as his own which eventually became his own conviction and his will to become the strongest human of all to protect what she and his fellow flamechasers wanted to protect. He wanted to carry on their will when he could have given up after they died but he kept fighting to protect all that is beautiful in this world even if it all looked hopeless and cruel. REST IN PEACE THE STRONGEST FLAMECHASER OF HUMANITY AND OUR HERO KEVIN KASLANA
This character is something I have a deep personal connection with. But to spare the sappiest explanation ever, Kevin is the epitome of strength and determination. The very embodiment of Deliverance and perseverance, despite how he may have felt. He never stop his mission. My utmost respect to my favorite fictional character and hero, Kevin Kaslana.
This vid is great for a quick introduction without going into too much detail, especially for non-Honkai Impact 3rd players. However, there are a few things worth mentioning that can prevent people from misunderstanding his character and plan: 1. Kevin’s plan was not prevented by the main characters multiple times, and funny enough the finalized version of the plan was literally like 90% completed before the main cast even has time to stop it. They were only given the chance to challenge him to prove him wrong by his own decision lol. 2. Kevin (and previous era people) also cared greatly about the collateral damage of the project. For one, the Project was already revised 14 times by one of Kevin’s colleague 50,000 years ago to reduce collateral damage as much as possible. For two, Kevin further conducted small scale experiments first to test the viability and damaging effect of the Project. For three, with the unexpected birth of Misteltein in the current era (For none-Hi3rd players, just know she’s someone with dream ability), Kevin further modified the plan to reduce even more casualties. With Misteltein’s ability, the 98% death rate and 2% adaptation turned into 98% matrix style eternal sleep dream utopia and 2% adaptation. It’s still cruel, but it’s no longer an immediate execution. 3. Like Welt mentioned with the analogy of Icarius, as well as Durandal (a current era fighter in Hi3rd)’s conversation with Kevin. It’s was never about Kevin not believing in the power of friendship or humanity’s own ability to win against all odds. He does believe in those things, but at the same time he also knows that sometimes, SOMETIMES just rainbows and sunshine is NOT enough to win against the END (Herrscher of the End). The death of the previous era is a testament to that grim reality. And if he willy-nilly just let the main characters go against the END with rainbows and sunshine, and should they FAIL, what awaits humanity is an abyss of doom and doomed to repeat this doom. As such, his project is the safety net. It gives humanity some semblance of salvation (should the main characters fail their power ups) as the bottom line, while giving the main characters an affordable chance to prove him wrong and surpass him (Welt: countless others would soar past him, flying to even greater height). 4. Another thing is that Kevin is also like Elysia. If Elysia is the “pink Jesus”. Kevin would be the white-haired Jesus (lmao). This is because in order to hold together the Spiritual Adam (humanity dream collective), he is using his own body as the conduit. And because of that, Honkai energy from the END and the stigmata power born from the humanity dream collective would CONSTANTLY erode his body, for ETERNITY so long as he lives to maintain it. And because of how powerful he is as a previous era fighter (due to all the surgeries fusing Honkai Beast genes into him), he has regenerative capability that can 99% offset the erosion. It’s like he’s getting the punishment of Prometheus from Greek mythology, where an eagle eat Prometheus’s liver for eternity as the liver regenerate each day. So long as Kevin lives, he will get eroded when maintaining the spiritual giant, until he couldn’t anymore, by which point humanity would truly cease to exist (END wins), but he would at least buy humanity another couple tens of thousands of years (So it’s a good thing that the main characters did prove themselves) and save him from this fate.
Spared him from his fate would've been more accurate at the end of your comment. But I agree with everything else and it certainly adds more detail/information to the video.
Kevin (he himself never used the name 'Kaslana,' most of the Previous Era humans didn't use surnames, there were so few humans left) always acted in whatever ways he deemed necessary as a Firemoth soldier and MANTIS, especially after Dr. MEI's death to her Honkai injection. That's why he launched Project Stigma despite it being 'the worst option,' and despite the fact that his best friend, Su, was responsible for reigning him in if he took it too far. Because PROMETHEUS had hacked the Cocoon of Finality and given it rules about the number and sequences of Herrschers allowed to manifest in any era in the Previous Era, Kevin was able to see what the rapid manifestation of numerous Herrschers in the Current Era would mean. With the Herrscher of Corruption dealt with, only one remained, so Kevin moved to steal the Authority of Finality so no real Herrscher of the End could manifest. He then provided guidance to Kiana Kaslana, Raiden Mei, and Bronya Zeychik, challenging them to overcome him, and for one of them to become capable of bearing the burden of Finality. This should be familiar to anyone who watched _Kyoden_ : There, after Izumo scrapped the 12 Sentinels because they were not needed for a time, they later found they needed to reforge them into two blades, together: _Origin_ and _End_ . While MEI wielded _Origin_ , no one appears to wield _End_ , nor is there a Sovereign of the End. I believe this is because MEI's friend Oni stole the Authority of the End and fused with the sword called _End_ , thereby preventing a real Kami of the End from manifesting. He then waited for MEI to challenge him, with the war against the Kami ending with the shattering of the two blades. While Oni and MEI defeated the Kami, they also failed the embrace with their version of the Cocoon of Finality. Although in Izumo's case, I wonder if they would have had the time, given the proximity to IX and how they swallowed up both worlds, and their histories, leaving only MEI, who had changed to Acheron, together with her sword, _Life_ , which changed to _Naught_ . Compare to many samsara in _GGZ_ where Earth was defeated by the Honkai or failed in the embrace even if they beat the Honkai, and still reset things. Compare as well to Mars / Langqiu, which also failed its embrace with the Cocoon of Unwoven, but likely not to Venus / Fallen Star, which encountered the Sky People instead. An attempted embrace with a world from a Cocoon seems to be a common thing. Success seems to depend on the efforts of a few exceptional people, like Elysia, Kevin, and the Trio.
I miss his dad jokes On a serious matter, Keven will never be a failure, he will always strive in his path of preservation doing what's best for humanity. o7
Im an HSR Player, and well Acheron and welt intrigued me much. I knew Acheron was essentially an expy of Mei and welt was from mei's universe, or the honkai verse i guess. This video helped me get some insight and understand some things i was confused about from before.
I’ve never played Honkai impact so it’s interesting to hear the stories that have echoes in Star Rail. Someone having to sacrifice all warmth and human connections to be powerful enough to protect humanity is just heartbreaking.
Eventually he can sorta counteract this. He didn't mention but weapon is actually so hot it just barely counteracts the cold emitting from his body and it's also the reason he's the only person who can really wield it and to its fullest capabilities. If anyone else were to try and use it even a little they would burn up and die and three important characters in the story already have done this in fact and all died. Being said a normal human being around him is still not safe I believe.
The strongest hero for sure. Without Players (a high dimensional entity) entering the world in Imaginary Tree through Hyperion, the trio stood no chance at all. It take the players entering the game to win.
@@UnownDepth the one Welt hints is HI3 Kevin. Welt mentioned "Spiritual Adam" which only exist during HI3 Part 1 Finale as that was the core component of Kevin's Project Stigma. Which is why Acheron said that Welt is stronger than her, since Welt can resist the Spiritual Adam allowing himself to not get transported to the bubble universe where Herrschers are kept (Kiana, Bronya, Mei, and Senti was sent there) and able to help most Schicksal members resist to be teleported to the dreamscape inside the Spiritual Adam (the exceptions are Durandal, Sushang, and Seele due to them being Stigma Awakens they naturally resist and got teleported to the moon instead.)
Now hoyo's making them in hsr, I hope their story will as interesting as the hi3 variant. I always wanted a playable Kevin and Elysia I hope they're cooking something good with Phainon and Cyrene they are my pulling plan.
That's the point. He was just a normal human being. He was just Kevin, a man who unfortunately endured far too much just to be a Hero, a title he himself stated he never deserved. He just wanted to protect his friends and loves ones, then finally wanted to ensure their goals and wish that they sacrificed their lives for were accomplished. He wasn't some God-Like being or a Almighty Hero. He was simply just..... Kevin.
not even close otto never dared to fight him one on one bc he knew he'll die for good, and welt had to kill his own body just to keep him sealed in sea of quanta

Man on a Mission
Man of Focus, Commitment and Sheer Will
A Hero
The original Cosmic Batter

Out of all the villains in Honkai, Kevin Kaslana is by far the best out of all of theme.
Dude played the role of the protagonist, the antagonist and the director.
He is more like an anti hero rather than an antagonist, otto is the best villain in my opinion
Otto is the best villain, Kevin is the best fallen Hero.
Hope we get a version of him in Star Rail. Ice - Erudition maybe??

Kevin is the strongest character in the game up until Kiana became the Herscher of Finality. He’s way stronger than Welt and Otto.
The only guy deserves title "The strongest Human to ever exist"
@AstraLuna-o9i correction: until the trio defeated him
He is strong enough to stun something comparable to an Aeon for 12 hours in his very base form
His name is Kevin 😂
yes because he's only just a normal human and a counterpart of kiana
