This is the year Massillon beat a college team in a preseason exhibition game 40something to nothing, and no team scored on them till mckinley. Paul Brown’s last year.
My amazing grandfather #88 Eli Broglio! Does anyone have any more videos of Massillon vs Canton McKinley? Like a 1939 or 1938 video? These are awesome.
I don't understand what the rules were back then for illegal motion/offside..... sure looked like it could have been called on most of the plays - especially with McK on offense...
That film must have been colorized. It was all black and back in those days. Tigers looked very machine like. Precise and sharp. How the game has changed.
Love the shifting and precision. This is a real treasure from my standpoint. Thank you for sharing.
Horace Gillom, #55 for Massillon is a play maker on damn near every snap!
yeah one of massillon's great recruits

Incredible footage.
no flags no helmet face guards...LOVE the shift...
Look at the discipline of these players. See how they don’t celebrate after every play? World was 100x times better and more prosperous then
Those uniforms are hideous, especially Canton McKinley.
Massillon's are lame McKinley"s cool!
