Yep. My Crimson Tide really messed up alright. Sad for everyone how the first 12 team playoffs are gonna be just like this game, i e not worth watching. smh
So basically, if you haven't historically been a good football team, then you have to be perfect. But if you're Alabama or any other SEC team, you're allowed to lose based on the fact that you're Alabama, Georgia, or an SEC team. Got it.
You’ve played a harder schedule. It’s basic math. Otherwise just play in a bad conference and go undefeated and you are in. They need to weigh each victory.
Yeah Indiana just got boat raced by a decent team in Notre dame. However we literally watched Alabama get slaughtered in worse fashion to a bad Oklahoma team a couple of weeks ago. You simply can’t be mad if you’re Alabama
Why shouldn't they be mad? They are one of the best 12 teams in the country and they aren't in. Indiana would have one 5 or 6 games in the SEC. This is a joke.
@ they shouldn’t be mad because they had their path laid out for them, lined up across from a terrible team, and their quarterback threw 3 picks, they averaged less than 2.5 yards per carry, and couldn’t score a touchdown. Like I said, it was worse than what happened tonight

Got a feeling the Bama’s of the CFB are going to be getting in from now on. We saw it coming. No one wanted to watch Indiana vs ND but the CFB made the “right” choice this yr. I just hope the other games are good bc they are already making everything about ratings and $$
If you are an Alabama or any other fan of a team that failed to reach the CFP, you should be mad at yourselves, not the committee. If you lost to more than one subpar team, then add to the fact that you didn't win your conference or even get 10+ wins, you should be mad at yourselves.
The more salient question is how did the IU coach win " Coach of the year" ???😂 This guy was PUNTING at midfield down 2 scores in 4th qtr ! What an absolutely horrible game to start off.
Notre Dame played well but on the other hand IU kind of beat themselves, not only with the 4th quarter punt but with things like fair catching every kickoff.
It’s the level of competition. The teams in the SEC is just a brutal schedule to get up for every week. I believe Alabama is a better team overall and would have been a better game for college football fans. It was pretty weak first round game.
Y’all need to stop thinking with your TV ratings are start putting the integrity of the sport first. If Bama wanted to play in the tournament they should have beaten more teams, simple as that.
Ok my first time disagreeing with you Rich. And for the record I'm an outsider to college football as I'm Australian and we have nothing like it here. But as an outsider I'm seeing things differently. Yes Indiana were outplayed , outclassed and outcoached. But that does negate their right or worthiness to be there especially ahead of Alabama. As the outsider I see certain college teams are given an aura, a lustre for past deeds that in the past has propelled them ahead of teams with better season records ( that I consider ludicrous and wrong). This year, despite this pressure, the committee didn't buckle under and Alabamba wasn't included in the final 12. Yet apologists still abounded and tonight Rich you were one of them. Alabama didn't deserve to be their tonight and they have only themselves, ( not the committee ) to blame. I enjoyed the game well done Notre Dame and bad luck Indiana but well done on a great season.
This is a shitty video rich. You couldn’t just say great game by Notre Dame. You made it all about Alabama. These kids at Notre Dame busting there asses all season and still some how Alabama gets talked about more than they do. What a joke.
How many teams with winning record did Indiana beat? 4? Committee had 1 job find 12 BEST teams, not most deserving! SEC CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYOFF TONS NIL $$ *Bonus* No Committee
That's your issue. You're ignorance of what the goal is. It is to have the teams that EARNED a spot by actual play, not by hypothetical BS about which team might be better than another. Without Indiana playing Bama on a neutral field, you just have zero clue who would win. And don't pretend you know Bama would beat them, because I guarantee you KNEW they were going to beat Vandy. And you KNEW they would beat Oklahoma. Don't lose 25% of your games, then you don't have to bitch about it.
Yes Alabama most likely would have played a better game against Notre Dame. Alabama can beat anyone in the CFP brackets but have been very inconsistent this year. Got badly outcoached by Oklahoma. Whether that would have repeated is doubtful.
Just because one team might play better than another team on any given day as a reason to put a team into the CFP is irrelevant. Indiana was a one loss team to the #2 team in the country and Alabama is a three loss team to Vandy and a terrible Oklahoma. Indiana was more deserving than Alabama.
I like Rich but here he is completely wrong and we all need to push back on this narrative. You play 12 games in the regular season to determine who has earned the right to play in the tournament. Doesn’t matter that you believe based on the “eye test” that Bama or SCar would be more competitive. They didn’t earn it. So they don’t get to play.
Yeah, they lost by 2. And then rattled off ten straight wins, having 4 wins against ranked opponents and having the most wins against bowl eligible teams in the nation.
Are you trying to say Notre Dame shouldn’t have made the playoffs? Uhhhh…cmon man, you don’t have to post anything. You know that, right? If ya got nothing, you really don’t have to post a comment. It’s ok
@@stephenrose4558 No dumb dumb, that's your assumption of what you thought I meant. Notre Dame absolutely deserves to be in the playoffs...duh. My point was with Rich Eisen that this was just 1 game and if they played it again the results could have been very different. There are going to be lopsided playoff wins. If they played the game again next week it could be a close game...but you only get one chance and that was it last night. And finally...don't tell me that I can't post any damn thing that I want to...whenever I want to....got that Stevie boy?
Indian could not run the ball and just kept trying. When they threw they were pretty long passes with 7 step drops and that qb was getting rocked idk why they didn’t try switching to a quick pass and screen game
Here’s my thought for Alabama fans…win your games. Everyone dumps on IU but they beat some good teams this year and beat them down hard. So, quit whining, and do better. Lifelong UND fan here.
IU don’t have a single ranked win and are 0-2 against ranked oppents with a score differential of -33 against those said opponents soooo which good teams are you talking about?
Well big boy football is up next for Notre Dame However it is lucky for ND that Georgia will have its backup QB. Other than the QB issue, Georgia would curb stomp ND, may still do that anyway.
And before Bama got curb stomped by Oklahoma, you definitely knew 100% that Bama was going to destroy them. There's a common opponent with ND and Georgia. Georgia Tech, who the Irish destroyed and who it took like 8 OTs for Georgia to eke a 2 point victory. But keep going off. SEC is always so great, and every time they lose, its excuses, excuses. If the Irish were the number one team, had the toughest schedule in the nation and then, without their starting QB, lost to Georgia... You would be blasting ND as the same old Notre Dame. So please just stop with the pre game excuses.
Indiana didn't deserve to be in the playoffs. They had an incredibly weak schedule. They didn't beat any team with a record over .500 They didn't beat a single ranked team all season. They got pummeled by both ranked teams they played this season. Notre Dame will get destroyed by Georgia.
It's just absolute proof that the strength of schedule actually means something. Who your competition is actually means something. Whether you are in a weak conference as a team or as a player.

It does. If Bama had 2 losses, they would have been in. But they didn't, did they? They lost 3 games. Sucks to be them, because I guess the committee wasn't just an SEC fanboy who decided it doesn't matter how bad Bama played, because they're in the vaunted SEC.
I didn’t expect the narratives to come out before the body is cold.
Have fun with the Playoff when it’s only SEC teams, folks.
Got a feeling the Bama’s of the CFB are going to be getting in from now on. We saw it coming. No one wanted to watch Indiana vs ND but the CFB made the “right” choice this yr. I just hope the other games are good bc they are already making everything about ratings and $$
That's if Bama doesn't keep losing 3-4 games a year. The media will drop a team quick if they get mediocre. No matter how recent their success was
@@codydisney9959 I agree
The ends always justify the means these BS cinderella story teams i can't stand them, but Alabama should have took care of business
This game was overhyped & underwhelming
Indiana had a crap Strength of schedule, and no wins vs top 25.
Everybody knew IU was a paper tiger. They need to play a tougher schedule.
Can't wait till they go to 16 teams.
What a joke.
well at least there is a debate.. last year you play in the Dunkin Donuts bowl in West Haverbrook
There is no way of knowing now if Alabama would have played a better game. Let it go.
Rich, you’re a hater and you follow a team who cheated. Zero cred bro
No effin way did Alabama deserve to be there over Indiana. Just stop with all that mess.
Well, I was glad ND won as a ND fan.
Indiana showed up needing help but next year looks good. I doubt they will loose only 2 games next year
Oh, same Alabama that lost 24-3 at Oklahoma.
The computers knew better.
Yes Alabama most likely would have played a better game against Notre Dame. Alabama can beat anyone in the CFP brackets but have been very inconsistent this year. Got badly outcoached by Oklahoma. Whether that would have repeated is doubtful.
Nah it's a high chance they poop the bed tonight as well.
Better Miami than Alabama. Convicts versus Catholics would have been a better game.
I’ll be putting the house on Georgia.
I seem to recall the mighty Fighting Irish losing AT HOME to NIU!
Spoken like a Michigan grad. Alabama had their chances. They lost big against Vandy and Oklahoma.
When is the last time Bama played in
Funny how that’s not going to come up
Oh no! We aren’t part of the “suck job” party (conference homers).
Here’s my thought for Alabama fans…win your games. Everyone dumps on IU but they beat some good teams this year and beat them down hard. So, quit whining, and do better. Lifelong UND fan here.
What good team did they beat?
IU don’t have a single ranked win and are 0-2 against ranked oppents with a score differential of -33 against those said opponents soooo which good teams are you talking about?
Well big boy football is up next for Notre Dame
However it is lucky for ND that Georgia will have its backup QB.
Oh spicy, hope Georgia and their new QB actually show up for this game.
Is Michigan in the playoffs?
It's just absolute proof that the strength of schedule actually means something. Who your competition is actually means something. Whether you are in a weak conference as a team or as a player.
Don’t get blown out by shitty teams late in the yr
What an absolutely horrible take... If a team loses 3 games, they shouldn't even been in the top 25... let alone the top 12....
Bama lost to flipping Vanderbilt & an unranked trash Oklahoma. Get over it Rich. They didn't deserve to be anywhere NEAR the playoffs. They also would have gotten dominated on the road. They've played awful on the road ALL YEAR!
Would bama have performed better? We have no way of knowing, so it doesn’t matter 🤷♂️
Your commenters are making more sense than you are, Rich ...
I'm sure bama coulda, they also shoulda beat vandy. Oh well, what coulda been... I like the cfb playoffs. Has a march madness feel to it. Make it 16 and keep conf champs in. We'll get some upsets.
Both teams looked like garbage.
Neither Indiana or Alabama deserved to be in the playoffs.
Really not close... Notre dame smoke em and played all backups in 4q
Alabama still bitter. I'm more concerned about South Carolina. The Alabama team that beat Notre Dame in the Championship Game years ago is not the same. Not to be a jerk but Jalen Milroe is not all that. Now I gotta deal with Finebaum... I respect Georgia and Texas but not Bama this year Beat Vanderbilt and don't catch a whooping to Oklahoma. And let's hear the Irish loss to NIU....
Committee followed the guidelines correctly . The guidelines need to be adjusted
This CFP committee disregarded SOS and so many other big boy metrics. Participation trophy mentality.
The participation trophy wouldve been watching a team get slaughtered by a bad Oklahoma team and putting them in the playoff.
Yes they lost to Oklahoma, but they are clearly better than at least half of the teams in this playoff.
@@brodgers04they had 12 chances to prove they belonged and failed 3 times including two ti mediocre teams in Oklahoma and Vandy
@@brodgers04 They lost 25% of their games. TWENTY FiVE percent. Can we stop pretending they are the alabama they were a decade ago.
@@brodgers04 how can they be better when they got "slaughtered by a bad Oklahoma team"? I think the argument is "I think they're better". That's it
Rare L take by Eisen. If Alabama wanted to play in thebplayoff, they should have won more games.
Why not just have the entire playoff be SEC and Big 10 teams?
I bet Army would have done better...
Why does Rich Eisen record himself on Zoom lmao
He's out of studio
Effing boring. By the end of the week and it will be proven that Boise State, SMU, Indiana should have never been in it.
Boise State isn’t playing 😂😂😂
The title says Notre Dame won over Indiana but all I heard was Alabama Alabama Alabama. Why so much focus on a program not even in the playoffs? Boohoo. This guy sounds like he's burnt out from sports media just describing the next matchup. Maybe retire.
“Easy”
