    These do not belong to India. They belong to Khalsa Raj. They can remain in Leeds and Khalsa will take them once the Raj is established. It is not 'East India Company gift'. It is 'East India Company THEFT'

    Maharaja Ranjit Singh had a particularly talented artillery commander in his army who was born five years after the Maharaja in 1785. This commander helped the Maharaja win many victories. His Sikh name was Gordana Khan, but he was born as Alexander Gardner in the American Midwest in the present-day state of Wisconsin! He lived quite an epic life, and he's definitely worth looking up!

      @sundeepparhar1126 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Alexander Gardner, aka 'Gordana Khan' (certainly not his 'Sikh name', but the title he'd acquired from his previous employment along the way to the Punjab, in Afghanistan), definitely didn't aid the cause of Maharajah Ranjit Singh, or the Sikh Empire, in the slightest- as a matter of fact, he was one of the chief contributors towards its downfall, and proud of it, with the only things he demonstrated a particular talent for in the Punjab having been deceit, barbarism and treachery.
      In his own memoirs, Gardner himself asserts that his true original purpose for having travelled to the border region of Peshawar, and first crossing into the territories of the Sikh Empire, was to join Syed Ahmad Barelvi's Islamic State insurgency, with his own war band of 250 Ghazis, and assist them in their proclaimed jihad against the 'Kafir Kingdom of Lahore'- only to arrive just in time to hear that Barelvi's forces had already been routed and driven back west of the Indus by the Sikhs' forces. Whereupon Gardner recounted that he elected to dissolve his war band, shedding "manly tears" bemoaning the "tragic" failure of the "unquestionably high-minded, noble and righteous warrior" (this, after having traveled through the region where Barelvi had already forcibly implemented aggressive and violent policies to enforce Sharia law, including the summary whipping of all those who didn't answer the call to prayer, forcible enslavement of all unmarried girls over the age of 7, and awarding said girls to his mujahadeen as part of their 'plunder of war'), and reluctantly elected to head for Lahore to enter Maharajah Ranjit Singh's employ instead.
      With Gardner recounting how his anger, indignation, and building grudge against the Sikhs only increased on the way there, as he reached the Sikhs' frontier post at Attock, and was informed that he wouldn't be allowed to continue his journey, across the Indus River and into the Sikh Raj, without first emancipating his accompanying slave, Therbah (an African Siddi whom he'd purchased in the slave market of Kandahar years earlier to be his personal attendant, and who'd purportedly "faithfully served" Alexander Gardner "with dog-like devotion" since then). With the Sikh garrison bluntly proclaiming it was their duty to ensure that no slavers could be permitted to cross its borders alive, and refusing to compromise even when Gardner angrily remonstrated with them about how Therbah's status as his slave and rightful property was "only proper, in accordance with his negritude", pointing to his dark skin.
      And Gardner never rose through the ranks under Maharajah Ranjit Singh- instead, he himself proudly boasted of how closely he co-conspired with the Brahmin Dogras of Kashmir, as a core member of the 15-man raiding party which stormed the bedroom of Ranjit Singh's first-born son and appointed successor Kharak Singh, in the dead of night on the day of Ranjit Singh's cremation. Personally participating in the murder of Kharak Singh's chosen Wazir/Prime Minister, Chet Singh Bajwa, on that night (stabbed in the heart, whilst unarmed, in his pyjamas, and surrounded by multiple armed assailants, including Gardner himself), placing the new Maharajah Kharak Singh under house arrest in his private quarters (to be slowly poisoned him to death), with his co-conspirators assassinating Ranjit Singh's first-born grandson Nau Nihal Singh on the day of Kharak Singh's cremation, orchestrating the poisoning of Nau Nihal Singh's widows (using the same method as Maharajah Kharak Singh) to induce the miscarriage of his unborn son, and then participating in Maharajah Sher Singh's Dogra-backed bloody military coup to overthrow Maharani Chand Kaur and usurp the throne for himself (killing off roughly a sixth of Lahore's population in the process).
      His proclaimed motives for doing these things? His ideological alignment with the "high-minded, virtuous, pious," and "properly Abrahamic" Afghan rulers, for their treatment of 'pagans'/kafirs and active encouragement of slave-trading (having been deeply angered and embittered after being obligated to emancipate the Afro-Indian Siddi slave courier he'd purchased in Kandahar, Therbah, for Maharajah Ranjit Singh to consider employing him). And his alarmist, reactionary opposition to the reform policies favored by Maharajah Kharak Singh, his confidantes and his family. Foremost among those being Chet Singh Bajwa, and the majority of the Jat misldars', intentions to outright emancipate serfdom across the Sikh Empire (much to the horror of the Dogras, whose rule over their subjects in Kashmir relied upon serfdom the most), establish an elected parliamentary body, and issue decrees to grant equal rights to all its citizens (including property ownership, inheritance, taxation and voting) irrespective of religion, caste or gender (whilst Sher Singh, the Dogras, and their foremost supporters proclaimed that the Maharani's regency was illegitimate, on the grounds that "no woman can ever be allowed to govern over men, any more than a Dalit can be allowed to govern over Brahmins; they are inherently inferior to us").

    We have history before and after 18s too
    Every century becomes old and humans just love to stay happy with the past (victories only)

    SIKHS ARE WARRIORS AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN OUTNUMBERED 1000/1 BUT Won most of the battles...Sikh/Britain Two wars were bloody..Only reason Brits won the second war was because they had sophisticated weapons compared to the first war..If they didn't have machine guns They would have lost bad...Then SIKHS vs Muslim Moghuls...again SIKHS were OUTNUMBERED by 1000/1 BUT killed 20,000 Muslim Moghuls and not one Sikh converted into Islam..They chose to die instead of being a muslim..Hindus were getting massacred by MUSLIM MOGHULS but with SIKHS help the fight went on long both ways and I don't know what happened at the end..After being OUTNUMBERED 1000/1 By Muslim Moghuls..Numbers usually win..Ranjit Singh was crazy really great warrior..Sikhs have the best history of War.. .Now they have special ops units in the Indian Armed forces and the Airforce trainers

    Very poor presentation by turbaned doctors. Try to impress using Templar language instead of historical. Half baked educated should know that Sirkar-Khalsa was not a Sikh kingdom, golden chair is not throne, Vaddi- Sirkaar was not maharaja. Before British east India co. Punjaab had already developed village self-rule Panchayats, inviting Sirkaar Ranjit singh's interventions only in case of violence. The beaurocratic loot like judiciary executive legislatures camaflauged as democracy of Mughals were extinct though re-estabilised again by the colonial British.

      I know it is weird replying to a comment which was made more than 6 years ago but I would like to correct you. People were actually taller than they are now. It is written by a british writer that most sikhs were between 6'1" and 6'3". Right now the average is like 5'10". While it is true that Maharaja Ranjit Singh was shortner.

      Britain has done a stunning job at keeping and treasuring history. So much would've been lost, and a lot less known than we do now without it.
      It sounds like you're a destroyer yourself.
