I am always reminded how much love Iroh puts into taking care of Zuko, even while he makes the wrong choices. But this episode really pushed him to his wits end. The only other time we've ever seen Iroh yell, was at the North Pole and when Zhao was threatening the Moon Spirit. But even here, Iroh wasn't yelling AT Zuko, but yelling to emphasize the frustration of futility. His banishment may have been a punishment, but Zuko is the only one who is enforcing his own suffering. Iroh was yelling to Zuko to tell him he can cast off his own chains of guilt. He needs to realize this Banishment is an opportunity to free himself of his "Destiny" that his father imposed on him.
Katara (trying to heal Jet): This isn't good. Jet: I'll be ok. Toph: He's lying. Matt Reacts: The implication is that it really isn't good. Me: Honestly, it was really unclear.
3rd top 10 episode so far, for me. Just makes it at 10th. Jet's arc is a really tragic one. Due to his parents being killed by the firenation, he developed this black and white worldview that everyone in the firenation is evil, and everyone else is good. He was always fighting the firenation, but was ultimately killed by the leader of his own kingdom. Quite sad really. This episode also has the one of my favourite moments in the show, which is the scene between Zuko and Iroh. Just brilliant. Add to that the return of Appa, and some pretty good action, and this makes for one of the better episodes in the show.
LMAO the fullmetal alchemist mid episode cutscene This episode is almost at the peak of the climax for this season, there's so much going on: underground brainwashing conspiracy, Zukos inner turmoil re-ignited, and our Appa has returned; finally. The scene with Iroh & Zuko is huge These next few episodes are going to be epic and it probably will NOT go the way you expect.
