This is so true! Whenever you see videos on how to pull up, they make it sound like you need to do every single pull up progression, and if you aren't the you won't ever be able to get your first pull up. It is so stressful for me as a beginner because I don't know what informations is good to follow
Every time I watch a cali to the crowd video, I am shocked that the youtube doesn't rank you higher. Your videos should be getting way more views bro. I feel like I am hoarding by keeping all these good contents to myself 😅
Good video. My journey: lose weight. Buy a pull up bar. Every day try to do pull ups. At the beginning, I get to 1/3 pullup. Three weeks in I'm at 3/4 pullup. One month in: first pull up! No negative pull ups, no resistance bands, nothing but pull ups. Pay attention to form taught in videos like this. Continue and more reps slowly come. Maybe not the recommended way, but it worked for me.
Mate this is quality! and good for you for persisting. Ultimately what works for each person will be different, and the key thing will always be consistency so you getting to 4 pull ups is a huge testament to your drive 💪🏿
MY maaaaaaan! I have been away and stayed away from any internet connection, therefore missed my weekly YOU ARE BLOODY AMAZING post :) Congrats on hitting a solid 4,5k subs Andrew, you truly deserve it! I have, by the way, found the best progression being negatives. Coming from someone who struggled and could not do a single proper pull up, negatives and dead hangs have been tremendously helpful towards achieving a full pull up. Now, few months later, I still do them but with more weight added and my pull ups increase monthly. From barely doing one to quite easily smashing 3 sets of 10-12 three times a week! :)
Thanks Ambroze! I had wondered where you had run off to haha! Sometimes staying off the web is a good thing! And thanks! Not really about the numbers, but it is nice that so many are feeling like they are getting value out of the videos! =]
Another banger Andrew, you deserve so much more views! It would be amazing if you could make a video about building biceps (or arms in general) with Calisthenics, especially rings!
Thank you! And quality suggestion. Building muscle with calisthenics CAN be challenging, but it is mad rewarding when you get there. I'll get that video on the to do list!
Congrats on hitting 4.5k subscribers 👏 🤩 I like the idea of choosing a couple of progressions - working on these until these are under your belt then trying other progressions to mix things up!!
Weight will play a role in pull ups, but the good thing with these progressions is that we can start while working on strength - weight ratio Keep pushing Garry 💪🏿
I used a free online calorie counter. Planned my meals the day before. Stuck with the plan and the weight slowly came off. At the same time, do regular workouts at an inexpensive local gym or just consistently do calisthenics workouts at home, as well as aerobics. I lost about 14 kg while gaining muscle. Took roughly 5 months.
I've been stuck on banded pull ups for forever! I am going to give this a try and see if it works 😊
Let me know how it goes!

I feel that! I had the exact same issue when I was learning to pull up myself... one of the many reasons I started Cali to the crowd
Amen to this! I need to get my pull up sorted and under my belt! I have been half-arsing my pull up practice for a solid 2 years 🙈😅
