For thai tea, it's original color is a dark orange. Then when you put the milk on top that's how it's a light orange. And the milk also helps settle down all the sugar
Tsukinocos _ I actually go look at the ingredients showing on Thai tea bottle I have in refrigerator, it has no chemical color or whatsoever color added. It’s just tea and sugar! Just add milk (or soy milk for vegan) and it becomes orange color. Now I can relax and continue drink it.
Thai Iced tea sounds lovely. Has my mouth watering. I’ve had bubble tea before but prefer the jelly base. I also like Po Nee tea and Green Tea. I tried Chrysanthemum tea once and found it refreshing. Some of the drinks you mentioned got my mouth watering.
@Simon P yeah man I love Thai tea, iced or hot. I also prefer the jelly base for bubble tea, or getting a light amount of boba, since IMAO, bubble tea always has too many tapioca pearls. I now prefer milk tea, hot, iced, or as a slush! 😋
I always likes how artistic it looked in the bottle and never wanted to destroy something beautiful just for a marble, that is probably horribly unsafe to play with.
Team Dan! Because salted milk is used in every single creamy pasta sauce. Seriously. That's what "alfredo" sauce is: milk, cream, salt, pepper, and herbs. Salted milk is used to make biscuits and gravy in America too.
i grew up in Japan as a kid. When I was introduced to Ramune I didn't know what it was called and just called it marble soda cuz of the marble. Now as an adult i still love Ramune and get it every couple of months to rekindle my inner child.
Me: I'm lactose intolerant so i actually can't have them The video : ...saltly lemonade/limeade... Me: *thinks for about 5 minutes* im going to try that 15 minutes later Me : WHERE HAS THIS BEEN ALL MY LIFE
Your lactose intolerance might only be a hindrance in some countries. For example, my lactose intolerant friend is able to eat and drink all milk products made in Japan (her discovery of decent non-vegan chocolate was a joy to watch) even if she can't enjoy any milk products (unless they have specifically been made lactose-free) in her home country. You should look into that, if you haven't already! :3
I just tried my 1st Oolong Milk Tea with Black Bubbles today.😍But my absolute favorite is Mango Green Tea with Popping Bubbles and Mango Jellies...So good!
Chrysanthenum tea! Omg I loved that drink! Grassjelly too! I really miss Yeo's drinks ever since I moved back to the Philippines. I hope they start selling here too.
McDucky I mean, yeah, you have the homebrew tea, but if you've ever bought Oolong, it ALWAYS comes in that square-shaped bottle. Well, either that or you're buying some expensive brand Oolong.
xXInfXx As for cold bottled oolong, I've seen it in circles, squares, hexagons and weird customs shapes. I only have experience from Japan to go on though...
McDucky In Japan, I've only ever bought square Oolong, when I went. Plus, the local Asian supermarket only has oolong in square bottles, so... Idk, just my personal experience.
I think most oolong is made at home right? I have an uncle whose hobby is to make traditional Chinese beverages at home. He was making sweet red tea once, and I tasted some before we put sugar in, and the aroma of good tea brewed at home was so good it didn't need the sugar. He makes dank soy milk as well.
Zargon31 LOL, I had a friend that drank too much in one day and got a stomach ache, she went to the doctors, and the doctors said, one more bottle and she would have gotten worms.
The comedy between you two is outrageous! I almost peed myself from laughing so hard! Dan's "it came from...OUTER SPACE!!!!" comment when describing the grass jelly was just too funny! BTW There are three shops in Monterey that sell bubble tea, two of them are chains and one is local.
You ever have aloe vera drink? I bought it at an Asian market once and it was so good. It comes in giant bottles, its sweet and refreshing, and it's got little chunks of aloe vera that I really like.
OMG!!! I love all those Asian drinks! And I think you guys left out one of my favorite drink!!! Which is the Hongkongnese milk tea which tastes different from the bubble tea! The tea is strongly brewed and it has a very milky taste! Love it so much!!!
The salty lemonade drink also serves as medicine or a natural remedy for coughs and runny noses, even preventing sicknesses in the winter when boiling water is poured right over the lemon slice. Once sipable, add honey.
It is popular, but interestingly another brand (加多暴)is more popular (at least from what I see), even though 王老吉 is more popular outside of China. I think they used to be one brand though.
I lived in London for 20+ years. I can confidently say the slightest unfamiliarity will stop a British from trying out a dish. I once took a friend to a restaurant which had Green Tea ice cream on the menu, his reflex response was why is this 'bizarre' dessert in the menu. My thought was, if you actually go out and broaden your horizons a little more, then you will know Green Tea Ice cream is very common all over Asia. I also remember years ago Sushi wasn't as popular at the time, I was eating some and all these people walking pass thinking, what is this Asian dude doing...eating raw fish...those eyes of ridicule. Now, you see all these Westerners queuing up to buy their box of Sushi at the train station lol
I can relate to that! I lived in Sheffield, South Yorkshire for 4 years, and my bloke at the time was very adventurous, but his friends not so much.. lol. When I mentioned an American favourite, "Banana Bread" they couldn't get their mind around the fact that it was more like a cake, than actual bread, and were terrified to try it.. lol! I will never understand why people continue to associate Sushi as meaning raw fish though. Sushi literally means "vinegared rice".. Sashimi (the raw fish) is merely an ingredient that can be added to sushi.. But, Sushi itself is not raw fish. :)
i remember having a competition with my siblings and what we did was try to chug down the most yakult within 3 mins. i lost every. single. round. and we did that competition every time my parents bought it, which was about 5 times a month.
Ramune is absolutely delicious. It's starting to appear in UK supermarkets now but hasn't taken off as it should. First time I tried it I was totally "Whoah, I don't know what this is but I love it!"
What? I'm Asian and I thought all Asians love green tea! And mango too! There are so many Asian desserts that are in these flavours, I guess that's where this idea comes from hehe
When I lived in Japan, I loved bikkle. Came in glass bottles. similar to yakult. And pretty much any aloe drink. I was also absolutely enthralled with the seasonal fruit flavored Lipton teas at 7-11.
Okay...call me a horrible asian, but the only drink I had before from this list was the Yakult. It was super amazing (last time I checked, since the last time I tried it was when I was a kid). I couldn't explain the flavor either, but anyone who hasn't tried it before, NEEDS to try it. Plus, freezing it makes it taste great too ^w^
The salty lemonade isn't as popular as before in Vietnam, we prefer Boba. But even back in the day the drink isn't easy to find but if you have grandparents who are from the 40s-60s then you can ask them to make it for you cause they usually pickle some and let it sit there, my grandmother made to me all the time back then, it was so refreshing mostly in the heat
Yes I drank in the Philippines. I also showed my family and friends add to red horse to make a bitter. They liked it. It's like adding lime to corona. But I think red horse taste better.
Strawberry Calpico. You guys mentioned Yakult, which is pretty much same as plain Calpico, but it's the difference between fun size and adult size that makes it unique.
Tried all of this and more.. I am filipino however so my fave drinks are not on this list.. Like the simple lemongrass tea with honey served chilled. (Called tanglad according to my grandma) Am also a big fan of traditional summertime drinks of the philippines (my grandma made me these dribks a lot when i was young) Santol - cottonfruit juice Guyabano - soursop juice Guyabano at manga - soursop and mango juice Sampalok - tamarind juice I also love pandan tea paired with my puto bumbong
I'm thai and you are wrong on the thai iced tea. The tea is just brewed with crushed tea bits I guess and you put it into a sleeve and then put it into hit water. The tea turns orange when mixed with water and then you add condensed and evaporated milk. There Is only 2 ingredients. You may have tried westernised thai ice tea with food colouring
Every tea? Maybe not matcha and other green teas, but most teas if left to boil long enough you will get a dark amber colour. Add milk and it will turn orange. Thai iced tea is basically sweet iced milk tea. Lactose intolerant? There's also Thai black iced tea, so the same recipe just without milk.
I know 8 of the tea you mentioned and I love them. But whenever the option is available, I ask for half sugar. personally I think they taste much better when less sweet.
That does not work at all. The only way to get it out is to break the top somehow, because the top of the bottle is sealed to the neck of the bottle. Trust me, I've tried to twist it off myself and with the help of another person and it did not work.
Back in the day you had to return the bottle to the shop, meaning you have to drink it there. Like a soda fountain in the states during prohibition era. When I was in japan there were still places like that (about 20 years ago).
My dad used to drink "Yakult" during his childhood. Also I believe taro is purple yam (Also known as ube in the Philippines), and I LOVE taro bubble tea.
I've had Ramune, but Pocari Sweat and Aquarius are super good as well. I've tried both and they are similar, but many if my friends here in the states think Pocari tastes wierd. Another tea that is popular during the summer in Japan is mugicha. Mugicha is a tea that has a slight coffee taste to it. I didn't like it that much but it seemed everywhere I went during the summer, it was there. I recommend trying those three if anyone is interested.

When I was younger I drank like 5 yakults a day

He said "it's a free marble!" I'm rolling! 😂😂😂
I can't imagine him smashing the bottle open for it.
I've tried smashing the bottle to get the marble out but it was pointless
I spent about 10 minutes burning off the top of it for the marble I have about 3 of them now
I've always considered smashing them! Haha
Lulakan I ALWAYS TRIED TO GET THE MARBLE CUZ IT LOOKED SO COOL BUT EVEN IF I THROW IT ON THE FLOOR IT WONT BREAK
I always likes how artistic it looked in the bottle and never wanted to destroy something beautiful just for a marble, that is probably horribly unsafe to play with.
"ITS A FREE MARBLE" XD
He bought it soooo.... It's not a free marble after all.... 😂
Maria Terrones True, have any of you tried to get the marble out? I’ve never managed to 😅

The video : ...saltly lemonade/limeade...

Me : WHERE HAS THIS BEEN ALL MY LIFE
Your lactose intolerance might only be a hindrance in some countries. I don't know if you have it in your country, but we have lactose pills, like you can take one and drink and eat milk products for two hours.

What about Oolong tea, with that iconic square bottle and it's awesome taste?
When I hear Oolong tea I don't think about a square bottle...
McDucky I mean, yeah, you have the homebrew tea, but if you've ever bought Oolong, it ALWAYS comes in that square-shaped bottle.
Well, either that or you're buying some expensive brand Oolong.
xXInfXx

Zargon31 LOL, I had a friend that drank too much in one day and got a stomach ache, she went to the doctors, and the doctors said, one more bottle and she would have gotten worms.
I think a bigger container would be too much. It's so sweet.
Zargon31 it actually is in bigger containers in taiwan, its like 600 mLs, 300 mLs and like, the normal ones so that was 1 reason why i loved taiiwan
Why am I even here? I already know every drink that they talked about😂
Alexandra Lee-Llacer cause you asian the Asians are calling for you

The comedy between you two is outrageous! I almost peed myself from laughing so hard! Dan's "it came from...OUTER SPACE!!!!" comment when describing the grass jelly was just too funny! BTW There are three shops in Monterey that sell bubble tea, two of them are chains and one is local.
As a wise asian once said,
Boba is love,
Boba is life.
ITS A FREE MARBLE i almost cried of laughter !!

You ever have aloe vera drink? I bought it at an Asian market once and it was so good. It comes in giant bottles, its sweet and refreshing, and it's got little chunks of aloe vera that I really like.

The salty lemonade drink also serves as medicine or a natural remedy for coughs and runny noses, even preventing sicknesses in the winter when boiling water is poured right over the lemon slice. Once sipable, add honey.
I thought 王老吉 is the most popular drink in China, is it not? It's the tea in a red can.
It is popular, but interestingly another brand (加多暴)is more popular (at least from what I see), even though 王老吉 is more popular outside of China. I think they used to be one brand though.
Modern Chinese Speaker the name has just changed from 王老吉 to 加多宝 a lot of people told me? O.o
tarofishy 加多暴 is the sweetened version of 王老吉
OMG i love this tea. I went to China last month and I still have some here. I can't come back here without one

I LOVE THAT SHIT
Taemin: banana milk!! Where!? Where!?

+Akiko. They must have related the raw fish to Nigiri salmon.
As an American with a British dad you are 100% correct.
When I lived in Philippines I tried cucumber water and I drank avocado milk shakes both were pretty good.
i remember having a competition with my siblings and what we did was try to chug down the most yakult within 3 mins.
i lost every. single. round.

Ramune is absolutely delicious. It's starting to appear in UK supermarkets now but hasn't taken off as it should. First time I tried it I was totally "Whoah, I don't know what this is but I love it!"
No green tea?
That's super stereotypical. Most Asians don't actually enjoy green tea that much. They'll drink it it's good but its not something most Asians love
What? I'm Asian and I thought all Asians love green tea! And mango too! There are so many Asian desserts that are in these flavours, I guess that's where this idea comes from hehe
Yeah they usually drink it soley for medicinal purposes...not for enjoyment.
I think its because green tea is a huge category to talk about, there is too many different green tea.
There's a lot of tea that's popular than Green Tea like 铁观音,肉桂,西湖龙井,普洱 and more more of deliciousness.
I love Yeo’s 😂👌🏻
And boba tea 👌🏻
It would be disrespectful TO NOT PUT BOBA TEA IN A ASIAN VIDEO ;-;

I'm Chinese and I drink almost all of those

Yes I drank in the Philippines. I also showed my family and friends add to red horse to make a bitter. They liked it. It's like adding lime to corona. But I think red horse taste better.
Strawberry Calpico. You guys mentioned Yakult, which is pretty much same as plain Calpico, but it's the difference between fun size and adult size that makes it unique.
Tried all of this and more..
I am filipino however so my fave drinks are not on this list..
Like the simple lemongrass tea with honey served chilled. (Called tanglad according to my grandma)
Am also a big fan of traditional summertime drinks of the philippines (my grandma made me these dribks a lot when i was young)
Santol - cottonfruit juice
Guyabano - soursop juice
Guyabano at manga - soursop and mango juice
Sampalok - tamarind juice
I also love pandan tea paired with my puto bumbong
Konata Izumi calamansi and mango juice are my fave
Also sago and gulaman
Konata Izumi my grandma doesnt have that specialty dahil visayas kami sad
I'm thai and you are wrong on the thai iced tea. The tea is just brewed with crushed tea bits I guess and you put it into a sleeve and then put it into hit water. The tea turns orange when mixed with water and then you add condensed and evaporated milk. There Is only 2 ingredients. You may have tried westernised thai ice tea with food colouring
What kind of tea (tea bits) turn water orange?
+Bob Li I guess the leaves idk the things you make tea with
I'm frm Malaysia, tried Thai tea before n the taste is quite the same with our hot milk tea called 'teh tarik'. owh I'm craving already
I love Thai tea. It is one of my top 3 favorite drinks.
I drank all of it
I know 8 of the tea you mentioned and I love them. But whenever the option is available, I ask for half sugar. personally I think they taste much better when less sweet.
If you want to get the marble out of the Ramune bottle, you can twist the top clockwise
what really?
That does not work at all. The only way to get it out is to break the top somehow, because the top of the bottle is sealed to the neck of the bottle. Trust me, I've tried to twist it off myself and with the help of another person and it did not work.
+Kateryna Miller depends on the type, some actually can be twisted off
Umbra True, but the kind they were talking about was the kind you are unable to twist off. Hence him saying he broke the bottle to get the marble out.
Back in the day you had to return the bottle to the shop, meaning you have to drink it there. Like a soda fountain in the states during prohibition era. When I was in japan there were still places like that (about 20 years ago).
where is teh tarik

My dad used to drink "Yakult" during his childhood. Also I believe taro is purple yam (Also known as ube in the Philippines), and I LOVE taro bubble tea.

It can't be adored by everyone because it's alcohol

Jasmine la calpis is the exact same thing as yakult

I love Yakult!!! My mom buys them for me (disclaimer I'm not asain)
