Thanks legend Appreciate you and your generosity to take the time- About to tackle the DIY task with confidence. Glad to have regular struts on my 2014 Grand rather than the gas for the extra time you had to take. Be well 💪👍
Nice to see that you were able to do it the quicker way. Other videos have the steering wheel coupling removed as well as the axle. Thanks for sharing.
Hi I hope this message finds you well! I’ve been working hard on my channel, and I’m excited about the content I’m creating. If you’re interested, I’d love to discuss a potential collaboration where we can both benefit. Would you be open to contributing a certain amount to support my channel? Your support would mean a lot to me! Thank you for considering it, and feel free to let me know your thoughts. Best regards, Axtuo!!!!
Hay thank you for posting this video it made my job on my new vehicle so Mutch easier to do. But ya your method for tear down is golden it really helped out a ton.
Helpful video I had changed my upper control arm at the driver side, would you mind sharing a video for the passenger side or at least showing us where arm bolts are on the passenger side . Thanks
Those bolts can be removed with out taking the air fitting off the top of the strut just need to loosen the 3 nuts enough to pull the strut forward and sneak them by. The way its done in the video you'll probably have to take it to the dealer to get the air system refilled/topped off because it is filled with nitrogen and not oxygen.
Yes. I’ve always done it by using a scan tool to remove air from the strut to the reservoir and loosening the top 3 nuts. Which gave me enough room to sneak the bolts behind. It’s a tight squeeze but I’ve done it on multiple Grand Cherokees
I have to replace my upper control arms in my 2016 limited. I think without having air shocks, i wont need to loosen the shock absorber 😁 it should be quite easy.
Either the engineers said we're so good at designing these vehicles these parts aren't going to fail.... Or maybe the weekend was coming up and they decided to just go ahead and sign off on the design and call it a day 🤷 Thanks for the video.
No kidding. My uca bushings are shot on my 2011 Jeep and I came here to see if I could do it since the ship quoted me about $1000 after replacing both uca’s and alignment
Hi there I have a question what is the name of the little part that you removed first because I need that peace part and where I can order it thank you very much and I like the way you did the job thank you and god bless you and your family 🙏
Ah, the elusive little part! It's called the [name of the part]. You can order it from the magical land of [funny place]. May the force be with you in your search!
@@AxtuoAx Man I got everything off cept for the air strut...to get that bottom bolt out i had to unscrew it even after jacking up the control arm a little to try and relieve some tension On other videos it just slid out. Ive loosened the 3 nuts on top almost completely off but this thing won't budge. The bracket seems to be stuck where the bolt went through. Do I just hammer it off? Also to torque it back up, is it ok to torque the bolt instead of the nut? The rear nuts in the engine bay seem like it'd be a problem to get my long torque wrench in there.
The control arm mounting bolts have nuts that are not visible in this video. The right mounting bolt's nut is very hard to get to from what I can see. This video says do in reverse but I have mine out but am looking to see how to get to that nut to put back on....
This is nothing short of a nightmare to replace on a 2wd V6 2011 Grand Cherokee and I am sure that Jeep was forced to change a few things in order to make the replacement more serviceable because there is NO WAY you are getting a click on a ratcheting box wremch even if it is a short one and even if you are able to get a little room to move a little bit, you never going to make the torque wrench fit back toward the driver side closest to the firewall.. Jeeo pisses me off so much they should make the engineers who design these things have to work on then to test if their designs are service accessible even for certified technicians/mechanics because sure they make it work but what about whenever it needs to be serviced ? Or is it not your problem once the customer signs the paperwork? Sad it really is
Man , I have a 2015 overland and after watching how crazy it’s to eve removed all those parts to get the control arms free. Definitely bad engineering design plan 👎🏼
Thanks legend

I was just quoted $560 for the right upper and failed inspection

i have to change my both upper control arm on my 2016 Summit 3L CRD. How do you remove nuts on passenger side ?
Helpful video

Sure thing!
Did you figure out where the back nut was for the passenger side upper control arm?
Is this similar to changing 2004 grand cherokee loredo control arms?
all you gotta do it's match the parts

Are you sure? Can you move the strut forward with 3 bolts, by not disconnecting and dont lose nitrogen?
Yes. I’ve always done it by using a scan tool to remove air from the strut to the reservoir and loosening the top 3 nuts. Which gave me enough room to sneak the bolts behind. It’s a tight squeeze but I’ve done it on multiple Grand Cherokees
@@MrChiskater ok thks!
what software did you use for this?
Did you disconnect the plug like on the video or not?
@@juktm43 I used a Snapon scan tool. Im not sure by what you mean plug.
@@MrChiskater plug IS air connector
I'm going to do it this weekend. Question: How many pounds of torque should I tight back each bolt? Thanks
Snug it
Did you ever unplug the level sensor? I had to unplug mine the other day and plugged it back and now my shit doesn't air-down...
Gonna do this job but do I need my scanner to release the air ?
No you dont
Thanks man. This helped a lot. Have a 2012 Laredo and it's exactly the same.

doing this now. thanks for the good video!
Tell me about your experience.

Super thanks
Is a 2014 5.7 summit with air suspension much different than this?
Not really

I dont remember doing that.......whatchu see in the video, it's what happened.

What do you call that little bent bar that connects to the control arm and that wire harness
That's the level suspension sensor.

Do you live anywhere near Dallas, tx???? 😂 seriously
I wish I was, kuh.
Im planing to visit tho.
Why? What's going on, bruh?
Well it Absolutely sucks if you have a v6 like I do. Because I think have to take off the intake just to have enough space to get it off
Right right
Drivers side wasn’t so hard, passenger side…. Sheeesh.
Where was the back nut? What did you have to remove to access it?
I can barely hear this guy over the humming noise
I cannot, for the life of me, get that second nut on the control arm.....I despise the engineers for this
🤣🤣🤣.....I'm not laughing at u, just the way I pictured the suffering expression in my head....pause
