With the "love at first sight" question and Jackie brought up babies, I was like "that's how I felt about my baby brother, in fact I loved him before he was even born"
This video really humanized the cast. Sometimes I forget the fact that they're actual people (most videos we get to know the personality but not the person). It validated opinions, actions, and feelings that don't get talked about. I could relate and participate. I was also extremely entertained by observing how the discussion affected the relationships in that room and still remained respectful and honest. Please do more of these!
Considering the last one sparked a ton of discussion there, I do want to add a point. Sometimes you have to lie when someone's safety is at risk. At certain abusive situations I have had to protect someone from getting hurt by lying, other times it is important to lie to keep a secret (like when someone comes out to you but wants you to keep it a secret and then the family asks you about it), and there are times when you have to sugar coat a situation, especially with children, which is basically lying.
I had a similar thought where, if you were the person hiding Anne Frank in your attic, wouldn't it be a whole lot better to just lie, as the main point was with good intentions.
Yes!!! I came out to my sister & specifically asked her not to tell my mother because I wanted to come on to who I wanted to, when I was ready to. And the next time I saw my mom she was like “so your gay now”. I was so pissed at my sister.
Don't sugarcoat things for children. All you're doing is stunting their understanding of the real world. It's not helpful, kids retain the knowledge they learn when they're young and it helps them grow into themselves as they develop. Sometimes when we think we're protecting youth, we're only hurting their potential. It's a harsh reality but the one we live in The other two points I agree with tho
It's very situational for me. If it's keeping a secret, heck yeah. I've lied to my mom so many times to cover my siblings(not abuse, just my siblings trusting me). Like Jackie said, most people don't need to know everything about everyone and everything. If my mom needed to know, that's my siblings business to tell. Not mine.
I think Ian was the realest he’s ever been in a video recently. I think he has more to say than we ever realize. He may have a unique sense of humor, but it shouldn’t always be discredited.
I feel bad because since Ian is a little bit older then the rest of the cast, you can see when people get uncomfortable when Ian tries to speak up about something that may seem controversial. But he never really says anything bad lol.
Yeah, I think he builds a goofy persona on purpose. Maybe to avoid weird "working with your boss" vibes? But when it gets to brass tacks, he actually has some interesting things to say. Personally, I would never want to kill dork Ian but its nice to see the man behind the clown mask come forward.
I think the only reason Ian knows so many depressing and controversial things is because he cares deeply about other people and has that kind of instinct to know what’s wrong and why so he doesn’t make it happen again and so he can help or be sensitive to people’s needs Also his brand was developed when he was a pretty young teenager and at this point he’s just sorta committed on some level to the asshole character, whether he is (or ever was) one or not
@@briloncitoroberts947 I think he said he is 5'8. Not the shortest in the world but not very tall either especially when he is next to Kimmy and Amanda who are actually very tall
This is by far the best Smosh "learn about the cast" video. The other ones, like the panel show style and food making one, and especially the meme one, we can't participate. Yeah we can guess but we know a fraction of the real people behind the characters on the screen. And especially we don't know the crew, how can we guess that it was Kiana or Lisa who made the meme? We know nothing about them. But these are questions we can ask ourselves and form our own actual opinions on. We learn about the cast and we might even learn about ourselves.
I totally agree, I seriously had a blast watching this, I can't believe I hesitated to click on it, it was one of the best smosh video I had since I subscribed to this channel, I WANT MORE! XD
It was nice to see everybody just... have a conversation. I enjoy learning about everyone's views and values, and maybe even reflecting on or completely changing some of my own. This was a very thought provoking and enjoyable video.
Smubilee is one of my fav. now. This helps the viewers to know the Smosh Cast a bit better and to know that "hey! People in Smosh have opinions too. They are not only comedians, they are humans too." This video helps me to hear and understand other sides of human and learn myself a bit better by thinking on what place I take on each questions. So another round of applause for you guys for another great vid.
I think that’s why a lot of people miss Smoshcast. It’s so nice to see them being serious and giving their opinions on things and being goofy in their natural way. It just feels like friends hanging out with friends, which it is. I hope they bring Smoshcast back now that they have Amanda. It’d be so nice to see her on the podcast
The weird thing about this? It almost feels like Mythical talked to them and was like "Hey, take it from us - people like you for you. Show it." Courtney DDID say that when they moved in, Stevie gave a lot of ideas
Maybe personal physical affection isnt your love language. Doesn't mean there is anything wrong with you and if its not your jam, no need to force being a way you're not.
@@htspencer9084 disliking or not caring for physical affection isn't the same as being flustered when it happens. this is a completely wrong usage of love language
@@en2336 Flustered isn't the word for it. It's not nervousness from excitement, nor awkwardness from inexperience. It's more like a "does not compute" response, where I don't want to be touched because it makes me uncomfortable.
The lying section is what got me the most I think. I grew up in a household with a verbally abusive father, and general household distrust and instability (my mom wasn't abusive but certainly no saint ). Even now, I cannot tell you how many times I have to lie every month to cover someone's ass or protect my dad's feelings or abstain from giving my grandfather the whole truth to a matter because someone else told me to. I don't know what is a white lie or not anymore. I try to be honest with my friends because my family life is such a mess. Don't even get me started on the lying I had / have to do because of being in the closet (bi and transfem) from certain family members, including the one I depend on for housing. I hope someday I'll be able to lie less. Let's see if I live that far.
Hey, I just want to remind you that lying to keep yourself safe is totally okay and that it's now become kind of a defense mechanism is totally understandable. You're not trying to hurt anyone's feelings, you're just trying to protect everyone and keep the situation under control. You're okay, please forgive yourself too
You know, I thought I was completely against lying, but this got me thinking. Probably not what you intended or meant, but I think in certain circumstances it becomes a necessity when it comes to abuse. Not in the case you described, absolutely not, transparency is best and could help end things. But in a situation where someone is in an abusive relationship (romantic, family or otherwise) and is isolated? I would argue lying or omission of truth can become necessary to get them out safely.
This was actually an interesting video. I honestly felt engaged throughout and felt like I was participating. It’s cool since I’m learning more about you guys.
I actually really like this video. It is entertaining yet at the same time, I feel like I'm participating because I'm questioning myself and coming up with my own answers and what I'd do. Definitely keep doing more of these 😊

My husband and I saw each other and we were attracted to each other, hung out and within two dates we were engaged. We knew the night we met that there was something different and that we were meant to be. 11 years later still going strong!
Hearing Courtney and Damian talk about their demisexuality, with Saige saying same to Courtney's words, was such a wonderful surprise! It may not seem like a huge thing to everyone but people who don't know what the term means might be looking it up and educating themselves because of it being mentioned. Thank you for feeling comfortable and confident to talk about it, as another member of the LGBT+ community it's always nice to see people actually talk about these things and not shy away from them! I appreciate y'all at Smosh so much.
Honestly, as a Demisexual person myself, I was surprised to hear them say that, but also really happy that they feel comfortable to sharing that and for using their platform for spreading awareness. There's definitely going to be people who just learned what that is, and maybe even learn something about themselves, you know?
Same, I was so excited! I barely ever hear demisexuality mentioned, evon though I feel like a lot of people could actually relate to it, so getting 3 in one video was a blast

I had no idea Damien or Courtney were demisexual! Good for them with feeling comfortable with sharing their labels with the world, specially those that are in the asexual spectrum! Proud of you guys!
The thing is, it just means you don't fall in love with people before you get to know them. Shouldn't that be the default? Why do we need a label for it?
@@MrBevoRules it's not about love, it's about physical attraction. What you're describing would be demiromantic, which is also a valid label that can be comforting for people who use it.
Demisexual isn’t a real sexuality. Because sexuality is ‘what’ genders you are attracted to, not ‘how’ you become attracted to them. They are two very different things, and should not fall under the same label.

I really like this episode! It’s fun to see so many cast members at once in a video, and I feel like 10:05 is such a telling segment of everyone’s personalities and thought processes. Also knowing that Saige and Damien are in a relationship but on the opposite sides of almost every question (both with valid points) is fascinating to watch. Love this!
I know this is a month old video, but hearing things about the cast being demisexual (as well as Damien briefly mentioning being in therapy in that Bepardy episode) really was refreshing to hear as someone who has recently discovered thier demisexuality and is finally in therapy. Thanks Smosh, those little things actually mean a lot!
Even if this video doesn’t get as many views as something like “Shayne Topp is dead” this is a really great and interesting video and there do need to be more of these.
This was extremely fascinating! I think having a larger cast for this allowed for more discussion and diverse opinions and stories, which I definitely appreciated! Would absolutely love to see more! Also omg loving the amount of Demi representation ❤️
I genuinely really enjoyed this video because we got to see them on a more mature and deep level. I have a lot of respect for them being comfortable enough to share these thoughts with us
Seeing members of the cast opening up about being demisexual makes me feel so seen. As a woman in my 30s (who is also in a relationship and a mother), it can be... confusing. It's nice to see others who get it.
I really like this series, it's so nice to see the deeper side of them. Most of time it's all just fun and games (literally) because it's a TH-cam channel ABOUT fun and games but it's really interesting and captivating to see them kind of get in the zone of who they really are behind the scenes and learn more about them all as everyday genuine people and how they think, not just as entertainers.
For the lying one, I think it depends on the severity of the situation as well. For example, if my brother asks me what I got him for Christmas and asks oh did you get me *blank* I'm not gonna ruin the surprise by telling him the truth.
totally, I went a similar route for this one and was like “if it’s a matter of someone’s safety, it’s better to lie so that they can be out of harms way” which I think plays into the severity of the situation
Absolutely. It could also be a timing thing, as in you maybe don't want to tell them right away if you're among other people and it could be embarrassing for them. Basically, there's lots of reasons to lie but it should definitely not be what any relationship is based off or something like that.
As someone who's nearly been hit in crosswalks multiple times from people rolling through stop signs or on their phones, there is no excuse: just follow the street signs. You don't know what you can't see until you see it. Just that simple
i do agree with your basic sentiment that rules should be followed because you can never 100% be sure, but if this happened MULTIPLE times to you, maybe the problem isn't with the cars.
I was hit by a car making a left hand turn. His reason for hitting me and my son (who was in a stroller and thankfully the carseat attachment as he was only 6 months at the time) was because the sun was in his eyes 👀. Thankfully my son was perfectly fine and I only broke a toe
This is such a lovely and rare type of video for you guys! It’s always lovely to see that people who mostly crack jokes also have deep and sensitive sides too. Especially all the discussion about love 💕
Definitely continue with this series. It was really cool to see the different opinions and it felt like the viewer could participate in it too. Great idea
14:58 When Courtney said she was demisexual, I said (out loud), “OH MY GOD ME TOO GIRL!!!” Didn’t expect to feel so represented while watching a random Smosh video on a Monday afternoon
Saaame. Then Demian said that he considers himself demi and I was like "OMG THERE'S ANOTHER ONE!!!" Like, it's so rare to hear people talking about demisexuality (or asexuality in general) so openly, so I like it very much when it happens
Btw, demisexual isn’t a real sexuality. A sexuality is ‘what’ gender you are attracted to. But “demisexual” is ‘how’ you are attracted to someone, which is a very different thing, and is not a sexuality. It’s closer to having standards than being a sexuality.
As a demisexual / asexual identifying individual, it warms my heart to see multiple people on the cast who identify on the ace spectrum. There is so little representation for it and I've watched smosh since it was solely Ian and Anthony, so it means so so much to me.
yeah! and the fact that they revealed it so lightly means they're somewhat confortable with it and that's GREAT! As a gay man with a few acespec friends it really does put a smile on my face seeing that spectrum being represented
Same! I love that they've got such an open work environment where it's not questioned. They can just mention it and everyone's like "alright". Feels nice!
I think this is the first time I’ve heard with my own ears someone else say they identified as demisexual, and in that moment I have never felt more understood. This is a fantastic cast and channel.
For the last one, about lying, I worked in a hospice and it changed my view on it. I had a family who's mother was dying. The kids were established adults, so they knew what was going on, as did the husband. She was simply very sick and wouldn't recover, she had less then 3 months left to live. The mother was never told the unfortunate news that she was going to pass away soon, the family wanted to keep it a secret so she could live the last of her days a bit happier. It was bizzare to see, but I think after a while I understood.
Oh and also in a long term care home, theres a lot of residents with dementia and other memory problems among a slew of things, so lots of the time they'll look at workers and helpers and think theyre their children. We tended to play pretend with them and call them mom or dad, grandma or grandpa, and hold their hand for a while, while they remember. Theres also some that carry around baby dolls or bears and call them their children or pets. So in cases like this I think its understandable that lying is okay. To make their life more comfortable.
After watching this video I wish I could friends with all of these people. Shayne is a really cool dude love seeing his reactions to each of the questions and you can tell the purity of this group. Thank you guys for always bringing us the best content and it always is engaging.

I think the only reason Ian knows so many depressing and controversial things is because he cares deeply about other people and has that kind of instinct to know what’s wrong and why so he doesn’t make it happen again and so he can help or be sensitive to people’s needs
Also his brand was developed when he was a pretty young teenager and at this point he’s just sorta committed on some level to the asshole character, whether he is (or ever was) one or not
Shayne looks so small in this room and yet his persona is so big, he can control a room and say what he wants to say. All hail the Short King!!!
Y'know now that you pointed it out, Shane is kinda short. I guess I didn't notice due to him being jacked.
Yeah.. he's really charismatic guy

They were. I’m not sure if they still are. Saige hasn’t been in any Smosh video I’ve seen for months.
" I think if you love somebody you should show it, who cares if you're in public", damn Ian that was really sweet and I was unprepared hearing that
I get the feeling that Ian used this opportunity to prove a point to somebody with his question
Ian is just too into memes lmao
Smubilee is one of my fav. now. This helps the viewers to know the Smosh Cast a bit better and to know that "hey! People in Smosh have opinions too. They are not only comedians, they are humans too." This video helps me to hear and understand other sides of human and learn myself a bit better by thinking on what place I take on each questions. So another round of applause for you guys for another great vid.

I actually like it when the cast gets serious for a second. More videos like this where they don't try to be silly all the time would be great.
Reminds me that like "oh shit, these people be people with people feelings and junk" :P

‘Reading Reddit Stories’ w/ Shayne and guests is such a refreshing pastime for this very reason.
I'm with Shayne on the PDA. When someone tries to be all affectionate with me, my brain just goes blue screen.

Hey, i know it’s been nearly a year, but I wanted to tell you you will live that long. You’re not alone ❤️ Much love where ever you are, friend
exactly ^^ it does get better!! ik it's a cliché but it does when you can get away
I wanna watch a reality show where Shayne and Amanda switch their families n live with them for a week 😂

Thank you for feeling comfortable and confident to talk about it, as another member of the LGBT+ community it's always nice to see people actually talk about these things and not shy away from them!
Basically, there's lots of reasons to lie but it should definitely not be what any relationship is based off or something like that.
... Just be honest. If someone is prying to learn a surprise you have planned early, just tell them up front. "Just wait, you'll find out".
My immediate thought was about coming out. I had ppl ask me before I was ready and I don’t think I was at all in the wrong for saying no.

i do agree with your basic sentiment that rules should be followed because you can never 100% be sure, but if this happened MULTIPLE times to you, maybe the problem isn't with the cars.

Btw, demisexual isn’t a real sexuality. A sexuality is ‘what’ gender you are attracted to. But “demisexual” is ‘how’ you are attracted to someone, which is a very different thing, and is not a sexuality. It’s closer to having standards than being a sexuality.

“So it’s piss town” made me laugh so hard I choked on the cookie I was eating.
