    irene,
    You have the loveliest apartment.It is so calm and tranquil.I really like all the white furniture from IKEA.Your dog and cat are so sweet.You have done a really excellent job of creating a very pleasant home.You also speak very good English.I would have a terrible time with learning Russian! Take care of yourself in this unsettled time.I will be thinking of you from San Diego.

    I love how you have added pretty colors and decorations to your apartment! It looks vibrant and lovely!
    Here's a tip about the expanding yellow foam from renovations. You can actually use a knife and cut off the bumpy parts, because it is a "closed-cell" foam. When you cut it, the foam still insulates because it doesn't lose that quality. Then once the foam has the bumpy parts sliced off with a knife, you can paint the foam! Might want to try a small area first :)
    Thanks for the tour of your cute apartment! You and your husband did a wonderful job with the renovations. 🤩

    Hello! Greetings from beautiful Kentucky! I enjoyed your home tour! I think you did a great job renovating your apartment. I loved your kitchen. The wallpaper gave it an elegant personal touch!
    I do understand why you would like white in the future. The nice thing about the cabinets white is then any color of paint on the walls or wallpaper looks good with it.
    I liked your living room and bedroom too.
    The only things I didn’t like was the toilet and bathroom separate and no sink with the toilet. Maybe you could put a little sink in with the toilet. Because if you accidentally got something nasty on your hands, then you have to touch several doorknobs to get to a sink to wash your hands.
    Your cat is beautiful!

    Love the apartment! I was waiting all video for you to tell us how much you pay a month for it. Like the percentage of both you and your husbands monthly income. I live in a small 2 bedroom apartment in Melbourne, Australia. It's renovated but smaller than yours. We have no room for a dining table or any storage except under the stairs. I'm on the 3rd floor, no elevator which is a pain. I have the quietest neighbour you could ever get but my place is on a busy highway and you hear sirens and loud motorbikes. Our wardrobe is bigger, we don't have a dryer so I use the clothes horse like you. The apartment is over $1200 a month and we can't do any renovations. It's all electric but Australia has the most expensive electricity in the world. Luckily it doesn't get cold enough for me to need heating or not to hot in summer. I do have a split system air conditioner. Animals in apartments, especially dogs? Here there's 32 apartments on our block. Dogs wouldn't be allowed but some people have cats. Our electric plugs are different than any other countries also. I'm in a nice area. Across the highway is a large shopping complex, we have a large swimming pool and at the back of our apartment block is the beach. I think Ikea is no longer in Russia?

    I see the renovation that your dog made in the kitchen. My duck made a renovation like that in my bathroom. I think she was nesting at the time. She ripped all of the toilet paper off of the roll and then she pulled the wallpaper off the wall in the corner by the door. Oh well. That was years ago. Obviously we haven't fixed it. We have bigger problems. I like your drawers you put in the kitchen. My brother is going to put drawers in the kitchen and they are not going to be as deep and they are not going to roll out as smoothly and we are going to have to tug on them. It's not going to be so great. But right now we have cabinets and you have to open the door and bend over and look inside and nobody wants to put anything in there.

    • @pamelajaye
      @pamelajaye 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@irenezarubina Well we have my parents house so it's a little different - bigger. Also, my duck died in 2016, but I had her for 9 years in the house, yes. She slept in the extra bathroom in the bathtub. She had her own room in the bathroom. So it was easy to clean most of the time except when she would fly up and sit on the countertop. And the rest of the time she had a diaper. Someone made a harness type thing and you put a little piece of baby diaper in it and ducks would wear it. And then you change the diaper out. So then she could sit on my bed. Although I would put extra towels on my bed also, just in case. Her name was Snuggles. And most of the time she would just sit on my bed because I would sit on my bed. But when she was nesting, she would wander around my bed and my headboard and my room and she would pull all the bookmarks out of my books and she would crawl into the corners of my room and she would hide and lay eggs. And I would take them away. And then later I would put her back in her bed in the bathtub and sometimes she would lay eggs in there. And I would take them away. And then one day her personality changed completely. She wouldn't eat. She threw her food over her shoulder. She had a brand new squeaking noise. And she bit me. And it wasn't until night time that I realized that she was lying really wide and flat and I realized that she was trying to nest even though she didn't have any eggs. So I gave her an egg of hers from the refrigerator. And she put it underneath herself. And she sat on it for 2 weeks. And then she pulled it out and broke it open and ate it. Maybe I should have given her more food? Apparently they eat a lot when they are laying eggs and nesting but I didn't know that because she was my first duck. Now I have six ducks but they are in the backyard in a house that my roommate built for them and there are two sets of baby ducks. Five of them are two months old and nine of them are one month old. There are too many... But they are very pretty. And the oldest one is 8 years old and the next one is 4 years old and then the rest are younger than that

    • @pamelajaye
      @pamelajaye 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@irenezarubina I'm trying to get rid of some of my 2-month-olds and someone was supposed to pick them up this morning and she wasn't here and she had to go somewhere else and then she had to go back home because she had an emergency and then she was going to come back and now it's like how about tomorrow?
      Yes please come get them before they fly away. I get too stressed out about stuff. Waiting for people. But they are fine. They are running and flapping their wings. But they are fine and hopefully they will still be here tomorrow. You can't let them get away. They are domestic ducks. And we have too many of them in Florida that are feral. So if they fly away it's a bad thing.
      Hopefully they haven't quite figured out how to fly yet. And the other ones are a month and a half old and they don't have wings yet. And the oldest one is eight. We had to clip her wings this year because all the other ducks annoy her and so she would get down on the ground and they would chase her and she would fly up on the roof of the shed or the duck house or the actual house. One day she was on the roof of our house. So we had to clip her wings. And now we just keep her on the top shelf of the duck house cuz nobody else can get up there. And everybody leaves her alone because they can't reach her.
      I know someone who had a 15-year-old Muscovy duck. But nobody was bothering her. Somehow all my ducks like to gang up on Willow. Especially the boy. He pretends like he's going to have sex with her and then he doesn't. It's strange. And anyone who's a mother duck currently, they chase all the other ducks. Broody ducks are like that... So sometimes it gets really exciting around here. But I think everybody is just lying down in the backyard right now. Except for Lillabet. We took her eggs away and now she doesn't know what to do with herself.

    I’ve renovated two homes here in Canada. I’m pretty handy with basic trades and skills …I enjoy the work. This is why I’m interested in watching what people such as yourselves have done to your homes. I’m fascinated by Moscow apartments because of the different challenges …. space challenges…. structural challenges. You’ve both done phenomenal work here. It’s inviting and super organized at the same time. Aside from the exposed pipes…you would never know that this was built in 1969. I’m assuming that you studied English in Russia or you lived/studied in Western Europe… because your language skills are tops… you’ve got all the expressions nailed down. Smart couple…smart apartment. Kudos !

    I know very little about Russian apartments, but based on lots of videos I have seen about New York City apartments, and some apartments in other countries, your apartment seems OK to me. There are a lot of people in New York city that live in apartments very similar to yours. And you should know that there are a lot of
    Americans that live in places that are not as nice as yours. There are areas of the United States where people would be glad to have your apartment. It is not so bad where we live, but there are places in the USA where people are living in campers and tents because the cost of living is so high. I will tell you what I tell myself: I don't have a big fancy house, but I am thankful for what I have, it could be a lot worse. My grandkids each have their own room and we have plenty of room and heat and plenty of food. There are people in South America and Africa and other places that are living in tin shacks with no electricity. Most people in America are not rich, despite what you might think.

    Hi from the U.S. I just wanted to mention that I really like your kitchen wallpaper. In the U.S. you can often find a house that has maybe been decorated by an Interior Designer and the house will have mostly solid colors on most the walls in the house and then you may come to a bathroom, like the small guest bathroom downstairs and it often will have a really wild, loud wallpaper. I just love seeing a room with a wild, loud wallpaper and your kitchen reminds me of that. Your English and expressions are terrific! I like you basically minimal style.

    Yes I have seen the other apartments. Yours definitely looks better. And good that you got that stuff from IKEA already. I wish we could afford to buy furniture but we can't We have the old stuff that we came with. And some furniture we found on the street. A few things we bought when I was married. My parents living room set which actually matches which is so different from when I was growing up. When I was growing up the living room was green and brown and black and red and pink. Now it's blue and white. It's awesome. And it's full of my brother's junk. And he wants to get a new recliner and I said yes but only if it's light blue. Because everything is the same color for a change. For once in my life. And of course the white with the light colored wood

    Our house was built in the '70s I hear. I wasn't here. Do you realize that your kitchen is more modern than ours is? Oh I'm in the US. It's more modern than our house here it's more modern than the house I grew up in obviously because that was in the '60s and the house may have been built in the '50s but actually I don't think I have had a kitchen with cabinets as modern as yours are. I love your cabinets. Having more would be nice but I love them. I think I still like that old Scandinavian style where it's white and then this light colored wood. But otherwise I like your cabinets. It must be true about the white and the wood because it's all over my living room and my dining room, that combination. But not in the kitchen, sadly. We need more storage space. There are three people living here and we all have our own food and then my roommate has so many spices that he needs a spice rack that goes from the floor to the ceiling. Really he should just build one. How hard can it be? He built me a duck house for the backyard. And all of my ducks live in it. They have little nests in plastic bins and everyone has their own shelf. And the babies have their own cages on the ground so that they don't fight with each other. It's really good. And this time it's not made of metal so it won't rust Like the last two. And he is not afraid of power tools like my husband was. He could do this...

Your natural talent and maybe some training could really set you up for a great career. Greetings from Colorado, USA. Really nice pets too. God bless and keep you. You really have a sweet personality too and great English.

    You did very well making your little apartment look very nice and homey and not cluttered especially the little kitchen Which looks actually so cute the way you have it done. Believe it or not in Oxnard California U.S.A. a friend rented a one bedroom senior apartment and her kitchen was much smaller than yours, you could stand in one spot and wash dishes, cook and get stuff out of the refrigerator without moving at all the freezer Only had space for a ice tray and maybe a small TV dinner and that would be pushing it. Probably take your kitchen and cut in half and fill with the counter sink and stove/oven and small refrigerator.haf only enough space for one person and the dining area was bigger and that you could stand and touch your foot to that space. Thank you very much for showing us your apartment, hope you get to a New place that you will be very happy in with your husband and fur babies 💜🐾

    I do like those dressers from ikea. I may have to look at what ikea has. I normally don’t buy from ikea because I don’t like metal anything. I have a lot of bamboo because it last forever. Your dog is cute. I do like how you have all the dressers and closet match around the home. I would fix that room with windows into a functioning room. You can make that room into many ways . It will be much easier to sell or rent out making sure all the areas look nice. A unique idea for that room putting those stick on bird feeders and it can be enter. Try getting a washing machine that a dryer too. Get rid of all clutter. I’ve noticed a lot more Russian people on you tube since Putins war in ukraine. It’s sad as he’s put everyone in danger in Russia. I hope you stay safe. Find someone with a small Dog. I have two chihuahuas and I have a collapsible cage which is easy to clean and when not in use folds up like a thin suitcase.

    Small spaces present a challenge, but you are minimalists and very good decorators so everything looks great. I wouldn’t worry about exposed pipes but would cover the exposed calking around the doors and windows.

    Russian apartments are very small. It's like you don't have land. As a South African i would struggle to bath in a tiny bathroom because our old flats usually have a bath tub and a shower, if there's no shower it would be still specious and the kitchens are small but you can fit a washing machine and they have double sinks, sittings are very big and the main bedroom. The small apartments are the ones that were built in the late 2000s

    My home looks like an old person lives here because I could only afford other peoples old furniture, as I don’t live near a shop like Ikea and I can’t drive. Hopefully one day I can buy more modern furniture, but I like spending my money on other things ⛵️🪡🧶🧵😀.
