I enjoyed the movie and I don't want to compare the 2017 one with this brand new one because they are the same story and I think they are amazing together
There was actually a turtle on the desk in the library, in the scene where Mike brings Bill with him to the library, and showing him where he lives in the building. Possible sign of Maturin?
The Ritual of Chüd was part of their plan in the book, the thing is they never truly believed in it (just as Chapter Two portrayed). Marturin died in the book, leaving the Losers to fight Pennywise alone, but with a different perspective on how to beat It.
I really enjoyed It Chapter Two. I saw the premiere with my friends. At the premiere it played both the first one and the second one. I am a bit upset that we didn't see Maturin but it was still an incredible movie. Anyway I think the director may be making an extended version of the movie. So in that we can only hope we see Maturin in it in some way.
It chapter 2 was awsome idk what all the critics who said it sucked were thinking. I feel like they got paid by a competing movie to down play it. Also I really think the storm at the end should have been in there because everytime it wakes up and goes to sleep there is a catastrafy so why wouldn't there be one when it dies
@Reality Crack Films Is nobody mentioning the way pennywise dies? I haven't actually read the entire book - but from what i know the Losers perform the ritual of Chud (Which they were attempting to do) but when they failed they just insult pennywise until he dies? It seems like a really sudden ending (and not to mention weird) for a character with so much development
I was surprised by how dark Chapter 2 went; I honestly thought a major Hollywood blockbuster would avoid some of the things put up on the silver screen. It tackled some extremely serious themes and the performances and chemistry was terrific! Easily surpasses the first film. In fact it worked so well it can stand alone as its own film imho.
Who gives a shit? How does a characters sexuality even play a role in a story? Holy shit! Oh, Adrian Mullin.....theres your gay character! Aaaaaaand hes dead...there ya go!
@@Blackstag-jq7jx I dont think this was in the book, its a nice added element imo. The only gay event I remember is when the girl from the losers club is hiding from the bullies on the junkyard and the biggest bully touch dicks with the other bully (I absolutely forgot their names).
This was actually the first It movie I've seen and it was fantastic! I hadn't read the book either, but I wanted to see this because it looked good. And it was! Funny and scary and really, really interesting. I'm a huge scaredy-cat when it comes to horror/gory movies, but honestly it wasn't bad at all. You can definitely tell when a jumpscare is about to happen, so it's easy enough to avoid. And not at all gory, like I thought it was going to be, but it definitely had its certain moments. Mostly I'm just so blown away by how COOL this was! I'll definitely go see it again.
It does still classify as a horror movie. Not necessarily to scare the shit out of you, mainly as a twisted dark story with decent enough scares/gore and story + humour yes.
The only halfway scary moments in this are the Beverley and old lady scene (before the old lady turns into a ps4 character) and the scene underneath the bleachers.
Hey, as an arachnophobe, I was thoroughly happy that they scrapped the spider idea. I was ACTUALLY able to watch the ending instead of covering my eyes for most of it. XD
A subtle detail/easter egg some people missed is the green lighting in the sewers and at the ending with Pennywise. This is the same light filter used in the t.v. mini series Tommyknockers which makes sense considering both antagonists are aliens from a different dimension. ;)
Is nobody gonna bring up the fact that Richie was in love with Eddie? They made one of the main characters gay (or at least bi), and its not even brought up?
There are subtle hints in the book that there were romantic feelings between the two. Richie even kisses him goodbye after he dies and there is a scene where the germ fearing Eddie shares a popsicle with Richie (which also conjures up some phallic imagery).
Stan’s bathroom bloody message of “IT” was not omitted. You can see it during a flash of Stan in the bathtub in the scene where they attempt to call him.
This is a wonderful video. And I liked all the changes, and this is coming from someone who’s read the book annually for almost fifteen years. But may I just point out that Stan’s scrawling it IT in blood does feature, but it’s very quick and I can understand why people would miss it.
they literally say 100 times in the movies that the deadlights is it's true from why do all these videos keep questioning what it's true form is i'm confused.
The pennywise spider centaur was just another form. Just like in the mini series, the spider isn't it's true form. The dead lights are what we can comprehend of it's true form which is why they go crazy looking into the dead lights. It comes from a universe outside of our own, so we can't actually comprehend what it actually is and looks like. All we can see is the dead lights, and even that makes people go into a cannatonic like state 👍 fucking love pennywise lol even when you take away the clown aspect of it cuz I love clowns lol just the whole back story and the character of what pennywise is and is capable of doing, quite badass if you ask me. Pennywise is by far favorite horror/slasher like villian. We all float down here, and you will to🎈🤡🎈
@Shadowstalker55 not everyone has seen Wreck it Ralph, it's usually safe to assume that no one has seen every movie ever 😉 doesn't mean he's sense, he just hasn't seen the movie, and thus didn't know what you were talking about. Nothing wrong with that. I still like and prefer what they did in chapter 2. Got to see more of bill skargard's awesomeness with the clown spider centaur lol I mean, where else have you heard of a fucking clown spider centaur? Then where have you seen giant spiders? It's just way more unique to me. I understand why you prefer the other way, but for me personally it just way more out of the ordinary to me. Like I said, fucking clown spider centaur. So fucking weird and badass to me 😂
But I have to admit, even though this movie had an almost 3 hour run time the first hour alone was extremely faced paced and thought it was a very good strategy, as the rest of the movie does feel more of a slower pace. Which I can understand why since the original novel is roughly 1000 pages.
There's a lot of reference of Maturin in chapter 2... SPOILER ALERT!!! When Ben confront It in the school there's a turtle in the class also when Mike talked to Bill about the ritual he talks a little and said Maturin
Usually you’re spot on, but this time you omitted some big differences. How do you not mention the almost complete lack of Bev’s husband Tom in part 2? Part 2 makes Tom seem a fraction as terrible as he really was. The mystical basis of the book is toned down, but for good reason. Like you mentioned somethings are easier to imagine in print than translate on screen. Also in the book several of the Losers run back to the Inn intent on fleeing from Derry but decide to sleep on it. The change in the timeline is also noteworthy. The novel and mini-series start in the 1950’s and concludes in the 1980’s while Part 1 is set in the 1980’s and concludes in 2016ish. Henry Bower’s character is toned down a lot as well. In the book he’s the cause for Eddie’s broken arm and he breaks the same arm in the same place when he returns to kill off the losers as adults. His mentally unstable and abusive Father is glossed over in the film version and is more implied than shown the way it is in the book. In the film he’s shown to be arrested for killing his father, when in the book he’s actually charged with the disappearances of the children of Derry and murder of his friends as well as the murder of his father. Personally the Henry Bowers in the book is just a lot more terrifying and tragic than he is in either the films or mini series. The film also failed to mention WHY IT brought Henry back. IT knew the Losers as adults would be harder to trick and scare and IT couldn’t kill them on IT’s own, which is touched on in the mini series as well. Anyways, there’s more including major deviations in Mike’s character. But that being said I LOVED the film versions of the novel including the change to the ending and the running joke about King’s endings. The mini-series is good for it’s time and Tim Curry occupied my nightmares for years!
I just watched IT chapter two today, (on the time of posting this) without watching chapter one. Despite the lack of knowledge, I thought chapter two was actually really good. It showed the contrast of the characters pretty well. I had to close my ears for the jump scares though, not because I was afraid, but because it would do numbers on my ears. I hope I didn't ruin anything for anyone. I recommend it. If you can handle IT!
I hope to see the movie some time soon. My sister is extremely excited to see it. I haven't read the book since I'm not a big reader, but I loved the mini series and the first movie 8u I got "Pet Sematary" on Audible and have listened to it about 5 times, so I would like to get "It" on there too.

@@Sh4dowKnight115 Tuesday can't get here fast enough. Would watch tomorrow, but my workplace decided to start altering my schedule so now I work weekends. But now I have Tuesdays off, when I can watch a movie at a discounted price.
Imo it’s better than the first one
In the books it’s explained that human brains can’t comprehend his true form so our brains turn it into what it closely resembles which is the spider
i haven't seen it yet but by the look of it i have issues on what was changed, they should have put the turtle in the film, you know how fucking badly i wanted to see Derry have that flood? man does that piss me off, i love the book but the #1 thing about the ending that i hated was them forgetting each other, with Mike writing in his Journal and the words going away as he write them that part i didn't like.
really no spider? i fucking hated hated the ending to the 1st film man i dunno about you but why can't they not do as many changes as they did? really no Audra that is another thing that does piss me off! how about you did anything really piss you off? there were a lot in the 1st film that did me, such as the era, henry killing his friends, i dunno if that's in the 2nd film but it's a deleted scene from the 1st one. and many other things as well pissed me off as well
In the book henry and his friends where killed by It in the form of Frankestein, and i really want to see a new appearance for the spider that looks more like the one in the book, Black like coal, sting, and red devil eyes.
I was wanting to see if they put my favorite monster appearances of the book in the movie, the eye or the Library vampire or even more references to the TV series but it didn't.
For me I love the 1990 version and it breaks my heart that it wasn't longer, they didn't have the budget, nor the technology for certain shit, was unable to show certain s high it cause it was ABC, though today you could show more I think. So it's got flaws, the remake had the budget and then some but chose to change way way to fucking much
@@rolandofgilead43 The miniseries was crap, let's face it. Not even Tim Curry could save it.
Everyone has their own opinion while I disagree I respect your opinion, I really dunno what I'd think is the worst stephen king film but sleep walkers is one and for me It the 1990 version isn't on the list. Bag of bones is another one that I loved the book but hated the film
There were so many things I enjoyed about Chapter 2, but in case you didn’t notice, there was an Easter egg to Maturin. There was a turtle in the class room :P
It's true form are the Deadlights :) however It is mainly seen as Pennywise the dancing clown!
The deadlights are not IT true form
@@sk8mafia214 they are :) They explain it in the movie and the book! So...
Martin Bumblebee the humans can’t comprehend IT true form. What they see is just a glamour. They see what IT, can only come the closet to its true form (he is a she). Otherwise, bill pulling IT heart out wouldn’t met anything, if the deadlights was its real form
@@sk8mafia214 it is made clear that It's true form are The Deadlights! :) I know that people are only supposed to see It as their biggest fear/nightmare, but it is made clear in the book, that It is from another Dimension, and even It herself says the true self to be the deadlights! Just Google it! :)
Martin Bumblebee Are you sure? I thought Bill saw It’s true form while he was in the deadlights. I could be wrong. It’s been a couple years since I’ve read the novel.
The second movie was more emotional than scary
The first was way funnier than scary
I mean 2017 and 2019 movies
I dont know how i feel about that
You have that backwards.
You're right, buddy.
L
No- the 2nd was WAY funnier, had more jump scares, and disturbing scenes. I think both were equally as good
One of my first nightmares as a kid was getting chased/attacked by a clown in a funhouse. So.... that mirror scene was fun.
Honestly, I'm really happy Maturin didn't show up. It's just like you said with the Dracula thing, some things are just better read that actually seen
Best way they could do Maturin without making him look ridiculous is to put him behind something like an invisible field that hides what he looks like but you can still kinda make out the turtle
They could have Maturin take an Avatar just like the Spider Does.
3:10 Wait, what!? The mirror scene wasn't in the script? It's the best scene in the entire film. Especially after the boy says he heard voices from the shower drain. That was brilliant film making.
The chapter 2 was okay for me not as great as the first one but it's faithful follow up. The cast did a great job especially Bill Hader.
Chapter 2 DID have a Maturin Easter egg; it was when Ben was at the school as a kid.
Jeremy Barnes yes
and on his desk at his house
In the book the spider is indeed just another glamour
Or the closest to what the human mind is able to see without going mad
Isn’t his true form his dead lights?
@@slamyourheadin9449 Yes
@@slamyourheadin9449 Yes in a way. Humans cant comprehend the true form of IT. The deadlights are basically its Structure as IT is made of deadlights. But if it has a true form we could never see it.

IT truest form is Endless Crawling Hairy Bright Orange creature in the deadlights, That's what IT true form is.

The movie outright explains the GRASSHOPPER form they fight isn't IT's true form. There are multiple scenes where you see the lights shining directly through IT's head while it's attacking the adults.
Loved IT! But Bill Hader deserves an award. Dude was amazing!
Loved the movie! Not scary enough but excelled in the dramatic and comedic scenes. Had a lot of heart too.
When the losers enter it's "den" they see something that recalls spiders (maybe dust and cobwebs) and they visualize it as a spider.
It's true form are the Deadlights and whoever sees them dies (like tom rogan and many others) or is left in a catatonic state (only audra).
This happens (and is explained) only in the book.
Yeah, It has no definite shape and It is actually pregnant with hundreds of eggs with creatures like It itself

Correction: in both the book (I think) and in Chapter Two they make it clear that It’s true form is a bundle of glowing energy called the deadlights.
It's a spider yet it's not only what the dead lights allow the human mind to see without going mad
Facts.
Technically, It's true form exists IN the deadlights, according to the book and was described as an endless crawling hairy creature made of writhing, destructive orange light.
I love the Thing Reference
Dwayne Barnes i hadn’t put that together, but yea, good stuff
Oh yeah!
The dog scene was hilarious
The Shining reference too
"You gotta be fucking kidding me lol"

There was actually a turtle on the desk in the library, in the scene where Mike brings Bill with him to the library, and showing him where he lives in the building. Possible sign of Maturin?
A turtle actually does show up in the 2nd chapter in Ben’s memory scene, not sure if it’s macharin but still interesting.
I was wanting to see a remade of The spider for the movie :(
In the book his description was scary AF.
IT’s true form is the Dead Lights, it even shows it in the movie, anything other than the Dead Lights is just one of IT’s forms

Today I saw IT and it was amazing I cried while watching richie crying over Eddie 😢😢😢😢
And what movie was competing with IT chapter 2? Chapter one was better but 1990 miniseries is more memorable.
@Reality Crack Films If you read the book maybe you'd get it better. Just sayin :)
I feel like Mike's readiness to face Pennywise pays a great homage to the character Ben from the original Night of the Living Dead.
That mirror scene broke my heart
The name of the drink Mike gave Bill was called Maturin. That revealed the story of the ritual of Chud
All i wanted to see were the turtle, but I know, the filmakers felt that was to out there to be given.
Not exactly the turtle does some backround cameos and they say the name in the movie referring to drug that will help
Seen it chapter 2 yesterday and it’s very good, very scary & very gory and bloody 😀😀😀😀
Rascal2006 wasn’t expecting pennywise to chomp on the kids
Pennywise exists:
Watchmojo: For now on, we call you IT
Because that’s what it’s called
GOD, I loved chapter 2!! And to be honest, I loved it more than chapter 1
What about finally confirming Richie was not straight?
No he's not. Did you not see when he carved "R + E" into the bridge? Richie + Eddie. Richie loved Eddie. Like love loved.
Why "finally"? Was it hinted at in the book as well? It has been some time since I read it.
Didnt richie get a sterilisation in the book? Why would he do this if he was into men? So I don't think it was hinted in the books...
Andy and Barbara Muscheitti sure know how to ruin childhoods and source materials everywhere
The slider wasn’t it’s true form. It was the only form simple enough for the Losers to comprehend.
Horror movie? Besides a few jumpscares and the occasional feelsbad for random kids, I felt it more like a comedy movie lol
Well it's not a kids movie.
Yes, it's a fucking comedy and it pisses me off because the book is by far the scariest I've read
They went very Evil Dead with it, imo.
In the book It's true form can't be precised by humans, they do see a spider but that's far from It's true form.
I'm going to see it chapter 2 tomorrow
Wayne Hoxit it’s sooooo good
Wayne Hoxit Guess you can say..... you’re going to see It 2morrow..... sorry

The firefly scene scared the crap out of me
I like the part where Richie gets attacked by the Paul Bunyan statue
The Deadlights are a glimpse of It's true form!
#4 is outright wrong. Stan's bloody message is absolutely visible in the new movie.
Really? Didn't saw it to be honest.
For a second only
Lol for like 1 second
Yup it's there. But it's much smaller and in a weirder font lol.
Don’t expect watch mojo to do proper research
Hey, as an arachnophobe, I was thoroughly happy that they scrapped the spider idea. I was ACTUALLY able to watch the ending instead of covering my eyes for most of it. XD
But in the book, it's described " something that looked like a spider".
It's not literally a spider
A subtle detail/easter egg some people missed is the green lighting in the sewers and at the ending with Pennywise. This is the same light filter used in the t.v. mini series Tommyknockers which makes sense considering both antagonists are aliens from a different dimension. ;)
I can’t believe the actor who plays mike is the original old spice guy 😂 who else noticed that
Ares Langer knew ever since they were casted lol
Sabrina R i thought he looked so familiar since the trailer dropped but I couldn’t figure it out for hella long
He’s also from the Shadowhunters tv show
He's been in movies prior to IT Chspter 2.
Is nobody gonna bring up the fact that Richie was in love with Eddie? They made one of the main characters gay (or at least bi), and its not even brought up?
Yeah, I was waiting for that one.
There are subtle hints in the book that there were romantic feelings between the two. Richie even kisses him goodbye after he dies and there is a scene where the germ fearing Eddie shares a popsicle with Richie (which also conjures up some phallic imagery).
@@justincaviness Literally. People who complain about Richie being gay/bi in the remake really need to straight up stfu.
I mean I don't care is not important but if they make him gay with no reason make eddie gay too
There was definitely a Turtle Easter egg in chapter 2.
Agreed, the classroom scene.
And the drug thing was called maturin
It's true form is the deadlights the spider is the only way humans can comprehend IT
Stan’s bathroom bloody message of “IT” was not omitted. You can see it during a flash of Stan in the bathtub in the scene where they attempt to call him.
Scott LaMont thank you! 😊 I’m glad I’m not the only one who saw that 👍🏻
There was a turtle reference in chapter 2, when Ben goes to his old classroom
Hey Mojo in the scene where Ben is in the classroom with Beverley there is at turtle on the teachers desk
This is a wonderful video. And I liked all the changes, and this is coming from someone who’s read the book annually for almost fifteen years. But may I just point out that Stan’s scrawling it IT in blood does feature, but it’s very quick and I can understand why people would miss it.
Actually there WAS a scene where a turtle was shown in chapter 2. It was on a desk, I believe it was in the school.
No. 1- Pennywise encounter with Ben
*kIsS Me F aT BO y*
they literally say 100 times in the movies that the deadlights is it's true from why do all these videos keep questioning what it's true form is i'm confused.
Some don't pay attention and most for the memes
We all float down here, and you will to🎈🤡🎈
Shadowstalker55 wtf is that? none of that last sentence made sense
Jcud Maturin was the name of the drug used as part of the Ritual.
People who think that this isn't a good horror movie or a movie in general are the same ones that praise The conjuring francise and The nun.
Those are good movies tho.
The conjuring franchise is good shit too. Asshole
People think: has a lot of jumpscares is so scary
Conjuring was good. The nun was shit af though
The Conjuring was good though.
Why not?
Female Spider = eggs = thousands of others monsters, It is the most intimidating thing ever written.
I hope to see the movie some time soon. My sister is extremely excited to see it. I haven't read the book since I'm not a big reader, but I loved the mini series and the first movie 8u
