There’s me just had my gallbladder removed and in a good bit of pain…… and feeling sorry for myself…..then I watch and listen to this man’s story… top man big respect to you sir…
@@ForceMediaHQ Phil, just got his book on Audible, Phil if your ever visiting Stirling, visiting your David Stirling memorial I would love to have a beer with you, also I will have a bottle whisky for you, I am ex army 3rd light infantry and retired Firefighter. I have total respect for what you did got your books and the interviews you have done, I am hooked going to listen to them all.
What a story, and even better to think that I must have come across Jamie in 1995. I used to live in the Caprivi Strip and we had a good long stay at Vic Falls that year.
That's fascinating! It’s amazing how your paths may have crossed in such unexpected ways. It sounds like you have some incredible memories from that time
This guy has admirable strength. Very brave and strong minded. As a serving reservist and ex cop I think he is am absolute legend. Not just in achievements but in character and example that we can overcome anything
Genuine privilege to have known Jamie for over 12 years now, great bloke to be around. He’s definitely one in a billion! Luckily enough to employ him as an instructor to run a ex-vets programme I founded and then later a scuba dive exped!
What a story and horrific life changing accident. Nothing but admiration for your tenacity, a real inspiration for all of us. Thank you for sharing Jamie. Wish you well. Big Phill you are an excellent interviewer letting your guests tell their stories and asking the right questions at the right time to get the most out of them.
The mental strength of this man is amazing . I wish you well for the rest of your life. Thank you for sharing .respect and regards ❤ Thank you both for bringing this to all of us best wishes ❤❤❤😊😊
Jamie you my man are an absolute inspiration to all thankyou for not giving up and sharing your journey it helps others struggling more than you know ❤
Thank you for sharing Jamie, a very humbling story of an incredibly brave & determined fellow! I knew a few blokes from C Sqn 21, before your time, all very solid. Your journey is an inspiration to us all.
My older sister died in a plane crash when she was 20 coming home from spring break with 3 of her friends . It’s amazing that this man survived. Very awesome story and a strong man 🙏🏻
Jamie hull.!! A true fkin warrior right there m8t. big thanks again too Jamie hull 4this mega mega interview with Phil . We can all take away something 4rom this interview with Phil. Big thanks again too Jamie hull and Phil grate grate interview!! As always!! Wooow that's mega brother. Blessings to u all brother and family members from a oldswet my self an ex'service AB ALL THE WAY BROTHER FROM A OLDSWET!! Fkin mint m8 grate interview!! Keep the grate work up on channel mucker 😊😊
What a courageous bloke, i think most people would of given up and died. Why hasn't Jamie's story been turned in to a film, what an inspirational bloke 👍👏
'Big Phil' '. If you want to have a real alpha male on your show, invite someone like me who passed the grueling Selection process of the RAF in 1987 and wore that coveted blue berret for 20 years! 😂 Seriously, this is an increible story. I read about this man's numerable incredible lifes acheivments a few years back. A life fully lived indeed! Great pod cast Mr Campion. I would like to hear forner UKSF talk about life after the Service. For many of us in the military, we embraced the Army, RAF, RM, or RN often to get away from crappy childhoods, poor accademic acheivment (as I did in 1987) and the military becomes the making of that person, evsn with bad experiences along the way. It seens many SF lads leave after quite a short time span anfd life does not always seem to work out even with UKSF CV. I think the public have become facinated with SF with many now becoming well known like you. However, I think we also forget that you/they are first and foremost flesh and blood, falible human beings like the rest of us and are not immune from life's hard knocks. You left 22 after 4 years didn't you? How did life treat you after and why did you leave? I hope you are happy in life mate. You deserve it! Best wishes. Garry H South Carolina RAF Retired! 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇺🇸🇺🇸
"We are the pilgrims..." Few live Flecker's poem more than this. Incredible story. The NHS should have this interview on prescription to compliment Seroxats. You could sit in a hundred sermons from a hundred pulpits, and not get half the life wisdom you get at 1hr 23 mins in. Peace and best wishes to you for the future Jamie.
Watched the rest of it now, had a bad time of it but nothing like this. Jamie's mental health must have been battered, very inspiring interview, takes some guts to keep going.
Phuff! what a story, words like Unbelievable, Amazing are words thrown around all too readily, there is one example where they don’t someone’s story justice.
Add his age at the time of the incident to his percentage area of burns and he medically had only a 5% chance of survival and that's not even taking into account his internal injuries. Lucky lad
oh my god, i , to my shame, wasnt sure about this guy, at the start, im so embarassed, im humbled, i want to buy this guy a beer , what can i say.......
Fk that. If I was burned or injured that badly, I'd rather press the button and check myself out. Why that isn't an option anywhere is beyond me. I've said to the Mrs, if I'm ever diagnosed with anything termnal and I don't get to make that decision, tell them to switch me off. A great interview Phil, you have a great style and easy manner with people that enables them to open up quickly and completely. I wish you'd pressed him on his memory of his time during his comatose state. I've always been interested in that altered state of consciousness and the brains ability to process what's happening. Next time, maybe?
