First episode. My 8 years in the US Army Infantry seem paltry and pathetic compared to the SAS, so it’s exciting to hear about such things, though I don’t envy it. If war was fun, everyone would be doing it. I wish there was some sort of outtakes, bloopers, behind the scenes footage of the SAS, or Special Forces shows. The “downtime” moments, the pauses amongst the chaos just shooting the shit are some of my best memories.
33 year retired firefighter here. Love the pod cast. Always trust your crew to do the right thing until they prove otherwise. Lots of chat and joking during supper but I always gave the crews time to whinge and discuss issues while they made up the night time rest stations in their dormitory on their own. They called it “ pillow talk” chunter basha sounds less poofie but same idea.
Great stuff and I admire Mark tremendously. But shouldn't the title be, "The Chunter Basha" given it's the tent in which the men have a collective moan?
