    Boost function [initial braking 10,20,30, 40,% ] allows for different van weights .
    Tekonsha Primus IQ AUS 120$ . Fits in cradle which makes it swapable car to car .
    High end versions are Tekonsha Prodigy and P3 [up to 4 axle and electric over hydraulic brakes ]

      Thanks for the feedback, I agree the tekonsha is a great option.

    Hi Greg, just picking your thoughts on the witi brake controller, great vid, did you end up swapping the redarc out for the witi? We have the witi alarm, but run redarc controller, looking at doing the same, mainly for the hills, and whats worse since the cyclone here, is the amount of stop go on descents, certainly gets you working the controller!! Anyway, your thoughts on the witi since this review? Cheers

      HI Kevin. Yea I have pulled the fuse for the redarc controller. Wouldn't go back after using the WITI great bit of kit. and just about to swap to a new tow vehicle and its so easy (and Cheap) thanks for watching Cheers Greg

      @@KiwiWanderers So thanks for your review on the Witi. We purchased the unit. Went away over some hills for the long weekend. I must say, what a difference!! With the redarc I was always adjusting for hills, town, flats, would feel one side pulling harder than another, and grabbing ( not really the redarc fault, perhaps brakes weren't balanced perfectly) with the witi, thats gone, going down hills on the highways braking is so much more assured. One setting is fine for in town, slow, fast. Love it. Anyway, I dribble, though hope someone else may find this feedback useful. Cheers for your Vid! Ps, we tow a 3t caravan.

    I am researching this at the moment and came across your video from a comment in a facebook group. Lot of people very resistant to anything bluetooth. Thank you for your review. If it can work on the hills of NZ, should be fine here in Aus!

      Hi Carla Yea I have tried 3 different brake controllers and the WII one is defiantly better. As I understand it it creates its own network that is very robust... and if it does get interupted the brake controller still works at the level it was last set at.. good gear good company to deal with cheers Greg

    Hi, very useful video. I'm researching brake controllers and my understanding is that a physical connection is required between vehicle and caravan to power the caravans electric brakes. How is this achieved without a physical connection? Thank you.

    • @KiwiWanderers
      @KiwiWanderers  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi David, With the WITI System all the work is done with the unit in the caravan it is permanently connected to the caravan power and the Brake light signal from the car.... the controller on the dash is just sending a signal to the caravan unit with how much braking you require ...if it was to lose connection (and my one hasn't) it just uses the last setting you had set. Great system I love it. thanks for watching Cheers Greg

    Hi. Why do you need the witi alarm? What’s the relationship with the alarm and brake controller? Cheers.

    • @KiwiWanderers
      @KiwiWanderers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Sam The WITI alarm is connected to the electric brakes on the the Van (it brings on the brakes if some one tries to steel it )it also has an accelerometer and a Gforce sensor i believe that all help with the smooth braking. Thanks For watching

      @KiwiWanderers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea I have no experience with elecbrake… it looks interesting looks like you can use your phone to control it??? Thanks for watching

      @@KiwiWanderers Yes with elecbrake you dial up on your phone the level of braking you require. We use it on our van and have found it very good.
