    I love having an alarm on our Caravan, means leaving it in a freedom campsite for the morning or the day while you go out to do something, it's gonna be almost impossible to steal.

      Yeh good point, it’s pretty handy for the freedom camping spots! How long are you guys at Fielddays for?

    Already have the alarm set up, I really like the idea of the down hill brake bias, was towing around the Coromandel and found the redarc unit a bit jerky, good video

      @AdventuresWithRosy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh interesting! I’ve not used the Redarc but some of the other ones I’ve used in the past have been quite jerky, normally around town when you are on and off the brakes lots… thanks for watching!

    Nice bit of kit we should get 1...oh wait.... Great vid Bronson, it sounds like your old brake controller came out with the arc so this will be a huge improvement.

    Thanks I've been thinking about security for my wee van. The door locks would work. Trouble with a van too many doors. My companion cat would set that motion sensor off.
    Will look into it. Been a bit hard finding info out, so thanks.

      You are welcome Glen. I think you are probably right about the cat, I’ve not tested how sensitive it is but I didn’t have to move much to set the alarm off

    Hey guys, is the unit connected to the battery management system?
    Also, please confirm, at night when sleeping in the van do you turn the main unit on? Does it pick up the movement when turn over in bed or walking inside etc, when armed?
    Cheers

      Hi, yup it’s wired into the battery system, we don’t arm it at night when we sleep but you probably could with out any issues. You would need to turn the motion sensor off though as that would set the alarm off if you got up to go to the toilet haha. There is a switch on the side of the motion sensor so you can turn it off easily enough

      Not bad aye! Except I keep forgetting to de-arm it before I open the door haha

    Mmm. Have been wondering about a good security system. Thanks 😀

  • @RadRoadAdventures
    @RadRoadAdventures ปีที่แล้ว +2

    If you armed the system but turned the PIR sensor off because you were inside, could jumping around inside the caravan set the main unit off?

    • @AdventuresWithRosy
      @AdventuresWithRosy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question, I shall test haha! We were rocking it around and seeing the sensor off when we were first testing is. Wind is fine but if you really shake it it goes off 😁

    Great review, my only concern is the down hill braking, how long does the brake stay on , drum brakes can overheat if applied too long, my thinking is better to use gearing , and short jabs of brakes. Technology has come a long way for caravans. Cheers Bevan 🤠❤️🦘🦘🇦🇺

    • @AdventuresWithRosy
      @AdventuresWithRosy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good point! It is only on when you are braking. I should get one of those heat gun things and see 😊 yeh tech has come pretty far aye! We can control our whole caravan from an app haha

    • @garth2876
      @garth2876 ปีที่แล้ว

      Much less and better controlled brake application than the traditional override brakes, so as long as you drive appropriately and minimise using the vehicle brakes it should be fine.

    Have purchased a unit for our new Jayco. Any idea on how long the install took and what it cost?

    • @AdventuresWithRosy
      @AdventuresWithRosy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh nice! Not sure how long it too to be honest, we dropped the van off in the morning and picked it up at the end of the day 😊 I would say maybe 3-4 hours, looks like there is a bit of wiring to it!
