Nice thank you I was wondering how this would work if your trailer is getting out of control.

Have used one on a tractor/sprayer unit and didn’t know about the emergency push in function. Always used in full user mode and would find where they like to lock up and adjust back a little bit from there!

if i get an oem ram 1500 brake controller it does the same things. and it perfectly fits in a spot made for it with wired in already. its a bit expensive at $255 usd but since there is a place made for it and its already wired into the truck i think its worth it.

just a point on trailer sway. as Justin said applying trailer brakes ONLY is one way to deal with it the other is to ACCELERATE, once you have stopped the swaying then GENTLY BRAKE to lower your speed and repeat if necessary until your back to a safe speed where the sway isn't an issue. if you use the brake pedal instead of the accelerator you will make things worse especially with mechanical trailer brakes. Same thing should also be applied if you suffer a blowout as acceleration will help pull the vehicle straight. Counter intuative to what you automatically want to do but it does work.

Pretty sure I've read that this has been debunked and they no longer recommend purely accelerating out of sways. They do talk about extending the rig, by applying the trailer brakes whilst simultaneously accelerating - but not just planting the foot whilst the van is freaking out.

Elecbrakes controller from the Central Coast with their bluetooth connected app on your phone is even easier. Nothing to be installed in your dash.
