    I grew up in a family of 8 and we lived on simply food that filled yer belly and made ya happy. Biscuit's and Cream of Chicken soup filled my belly many times.P.S. I had plenty of fresh fruit and vegatables. And I was always happy. 🤗🙏😘😉👍😎

    My favorite dish at Thanksgiving!! When you let the breads dry out a day, does that mean you leave them out on the counter or let them set overnight in the oven or fridge? I've always wondered this. The gravy looked great with the dressing! The aroma from the dressing cooking always brings back the childhood memories of that morning. YUM

    I used to make my mother in laws cornbread dressing but I got lazy and now by the pepperidge farms stuffing mix. My Mom used to put the broth off the turkey in her dressing. She put sage in too and so do I. I just buy chicken broth because I make it the day before Thanksgiving and cook the Turkey the day of Thanksgiving. Have you ever made Giblet Gravy? I have my Mom's recipe but the last 2 or 3 years I haven't made it. I buy turkey gravy already made.

    Hi, Mrs Marie.. is there a video you have with your cornbread and biscuit recipes that you used for this dressing?? I typically just use Jiffy cornbread and canned biscuits but, I’m afraid it might night taste as good as yours. Also, did you just use the chicken broth that came from boiling your chicken? Sorry for so many questions.. I just want to make sure it comes out just as delicious as yours!! I’m making it this year for Thanksgiving since my sweet mom has had a stroke.

    • @SouthernCountryLiving
      @SouthernCountryLiving  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks very much Jennifer. We have a couple of videos making cornbread but in those we use buttermilk. For my dressing I just make cornbread using the recipe on the package of Martha White self rising cornmeal but I use regular milk. For the biscuits I use the recipe on the package of While Lily self rising flour. I like to use the broth from cooking the chicken for the dressing. Mix your dressing with broth until it's not dry but just a little soupy. Not to much or you have to cook it longer to get it done. We hope that you enjoy this dressing and that your family has a Happy Thanksgiving,
