Hello Stacy , thank you for sharing your amazing recipes! In the Asian market, I cannot find a refrigerated package labeled chow mein noodles that look like the one you are using. In the store what is labeled chow mein noodles look very skinny like ramen noodles. Can you please share a photo of the front of the package you are using? Thanks so much!
hey guys , came across this Lombardi Xo Sauce , high grade cognac , diced shrimp , red chili , garlic , onion all crushed and blended in a regular food processor , goes very well with a mushroom chicken , highly recommended
That looks so good--I have pretty much no cooking skills, but I think there is a 72% chance I could make this following your directions. Question for you or anyone here in the comments: on a few occasions you talk about "adding oil" to the pan. Are you talking just a generic vegetable oil, canola oil, olive oil, etc.? Sorry if that is a dumb question but again I am not very knowledgable about cooking. Thank you!
I would say any oil that you have would work except for olive oil. Usually with asian cooking olive oil adds a different flavour than what you are going for. That's my rule generally - keep olive oil away from asian cooking. You can do it!
Any oil including olive works for Chinese cooking. Chinese restaurants use only vegetable oil. For a healthier option, I use avocado and extra virgin organic olive oil.
The color will be lighter without dark soy sauce. If you use regular soy sauce instead, make sure to use less of it because regular soy sauce is more salty than dark soy sauce.
this is a Chinese dish, not called Chow mein..in Chinese its called " Chao Mian" which means Friend noodles, where Chao means fried and Mian means noodles
Yes you can.... I live in Germany and just can get regular Soy sauce. To get dark Soy sauce I just reduce regulat sauce. (You put Soy sauce in a pot and boil it for a while until it reduces in volume to about half).... that will give you a thick, strong dark sauce.... Not perfect but it works for me
This Chicken Chow Mein looks SO good! I love how easy and flavorful it seems.
Thank you Stacey, i will sure make this, my daughter will love this too, God’s blessings

I add sliced ginger, chilli peppers sliced and squeeze lime.
Can you freeze bean spouts ?
No. Bean spouts need to be used fresh. They are very soggy after they are frozen and thawed.
@COOKSTACEYCOOK thank you as there only sold in big bags I only cook for one myself
You could easily grow your own bean sprouts using mung beans or soybeans. I know that's a bit more work and waiting than we like.
Can you use spaghetti instead of noodles?
Will it make a difference if I don’t have dark soy sauce ?
The color will be lighter without dark soy sauce. If you use regular soy sauce instead, make sure to use less of it because regular soy sauce is more salty than dark soy sauce.
👍

Hi, do you have a halal substitute for rice wine? Is mirin or rice vinegar acceptable?
You can skip the rice wine. No need to substitute.
this is a Chinese dish, not called Chow mein..in Chinese its called " Chao Mian" which means Friend noodles, where Chao means fried and Mian means noodles
Can you use just regular soy sauce? I looked everywhere in my area, no one sells it.
Yes you can.... I live in Germany and just can get regular Soy sauce.
To get dark Soy sauce I just reduce regulat sauce. (You put Soy sauce in a pot and boil it for a while until it reduces in volume to about half).... that will give you a thick, strong dark sauce....

Whats the differnce between drk soy sauce and regular soy sauce ? Also what kind of oil do you use ?
Dark soy sauce gives the dish more color and is a bit less salty than regular soy sauce. I use canola oil or vegetable oil.
👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰
Haber ... That I know and best ever translation was .... Without any context...
The words were
Not by bread alone lives the man
I made this dish next time I'll cut the green onions smaller and use less too overpowering and I like green onions
Could someone please tell me what kind of oil? There are so many different kinds of oil, and it makes a difference in taste in which one is used.
Hello fellow chef for the oil you can use sesame oil or vegteable. Would work.😊
@@josephshehan4969 Thank you so much!
Sesame oil
@@maryh9573 Thank you!
Strange, I've always seen this dish made with noodles called lo mein, not chow mein. I eat chow mein over rice!
Lo mein is noodle mixed with a sauce, like meat ball spaghetti would be considered a lo mein. Chow mein is stir fried noodle.
