Wonderful ways to pick up a language. One should try them out to acquire one. I'll certainly.
    Thanks Dr
Wish you longer life. And hope to see more insights from you about language.

Krashen is quite correct that if you associate images with words, you learn faster.
The example he gives is where he clutches his head in his hands and says 'Kopf' - so you learn the German word for head by associating it with the image of Krashen clutching his head.
Or you can draw the symbol '2' and then say the word 'Zwei', and people will learn by associating the word 'Zwei' with the symbol '2'.
Similarly, you can learn the Spanish word 'saltar' (jump) by visualising a giant salt-cellar jumping on the Moon, where there is less gravity and so the salt-cellar can jump really high.
Krashen's association method is tried , tested and proven to work.

Exactly ..! This is how I learned Chinese, actually I didn't learn Chinese , I acquired it ! Took countless of get togethers with people , plus living in China also helped. I did not realize this at the time but when I met non-English speaking Chinese at Starbucks and forcing myself to talk to them and listening to them it was all about comprehensible input.
