I love watching you. I am 84 years old widow and never miss a video. You made me nervous today bush hogging around that pond. You are so good at what you do. Look forward to each episode.
That is awesome! Thank you for the insight!! People like YOU are why we made our channels!! We know that many in life cannot do the things they wish they could so we wanted to share it All! Thank you and best wishes to you in life! I look forward to seeing some more comments from you! Take care! Kapper
Oh man you are not kidding!! Very much so! And even more so when I get the excavator there! This is work, but it is also fun and very satisfying! Thanks have a great weekend!
Well we've had lots of rain! It's just too bad that I don't have any food plots in the ground yet! Of course once I get something planted, we'll get a drought! lol Thanks
Kap, been watching you for about 3 years now. Man you have a blank canvas in front of you now and I can’t wait to see what you do with it. Lose the inside videos, stay outside. The difference is already really really good. Love the bush hog work. Good work my friend. Take care.
Thank you for joining us we appreciate it! But with such a mega project we will be vlogging the whole thing inside and out! Sharon is doing a great job on the inside and some may find it interesting to see the realities of buying a home that has been vacant and neglected for some time. Heck the carpet cleaners has like an 8 inch cat hair clog from the carpets! They said that was a first!! lol Thanks have a great weekend!
I purchased a "Brush Tiger" that mounts on the front lift. It's a 3 ft brush cutter and I love it for around my pond, ditches and clearing near an old fence.
That's a really nice piece of land. We have three small farms in SEMO consisting of row crop, forestry and wildlife. We used an M8540HDC with a Woods DS1260 10' and GL5740HSTC with a LP2672 to clear the brush. My brother built limb risers and cab protectors. We did have to rent a tracked skid steer and excavator for some dirt work and paid to have a 5 and 8 acre pond built. You will never run out of things to do on your property and that's a good thing. My productive years are at an end, but it's great to see our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoy the land.
Wow them big ponds must be beautiful! Yes like you I agree having things to do outside is a good problem to have, especially if you have the equipment. I don't know how long my productive days will be around but I still enjoy a few hours a day if I can in the woods. Thanks and take care.
Yes sir, sooo much has been done already! We just got back from yet another trip, definitely behind now on video projects! But so far we've been very productive! Have a great weekend!
Wow so hard to say! Not that many that I can see evidence of but that has been normal for us. Once we start adding food, water and more cover things will change!! But have no idea at this moment but the neighbor tells me there are lots of does! So that means you might bring in some bucks in the fall . Thanks
Any plan for an old style video drawing on the map to review the plans for the trails/plot features, as well as plans for a barn/enclosing the current one for a temp solution? Thanks for sharing.
That pond would also come in handy in case of brush fire on property .This way the fire department has a place to draft waté from instead of bringing in tanker trucks .Or even latér on with your own sprayer connected to tractor until fire department arrives depending on how far away they are .
Yes ponds are a must have IMO when you own land! I plan to make it much larger at some point too! It lays out nicely to be seriously expanded!! Thanks have a great weekend!
You gotta feel like a sculptor just starting to chip away at the stone with an image in your mind on what this will look like. Try not to tackle it all the 1st month though 😉
When are you going to have the moving company show up to bring all your house hold things? You going to leave your Illinois house furnished for the showing or go ahead and empty the house out?
Well if you don't keep them fields you will lose them. I will be making strategic clear cuts throughout and many new micro plots/fields and they will all come with new field edge. Also I will probably create new field barriers to separate the field areas which will create miles of new cover patches as well. So I do take it all into consideration. Thank you
Yes indeed! Although there will be endless work, but that is what we have come to enjoy. Working the land in many different ways and achieving new challenges and success'! Thanks have a great weekend!
log it. Deer leases. Wildlife cost share programs. Wildlife gov't habitat programs. And now you can sell carbon credits for annual payments as well. We just applied for that and got an offer. Not sure if we are going to do it yet or not.
@@KapperOutdoors2.0 Menyana = "I'll get around to it, but not today" - it's popular here in New Mexico. Before you know it, 5 years or more has gone by. LOL
Two reasons; One is that there are stobs/trees so instead of running them over going forward and risking tearing something off the underside of your tractor, when you go in reverse you eliminate that threat. 2 is that when you are mowing blind, you can creep in reverse and as you cut you can see where the ground is so you know your tires are on good ground and not about to go over a cliff, or in this case into the pond! Thanks! Have a great weekend hope to see you again on the next episode!
Nope. We are focusing more on land management and our new MO farm here, and then 'everything else' will still go on K.O. 1.0. Kind of nice to have the two outlets for video adventures. Thanks have a great weekend
Either when it is very gnarly with big stobs, or next to the pond shore. Those are the times I mow in reverse. If you go forward over that thick stuff you can easily yank a fuel line or hydraulic line or get sticks jammed in your underside that can cause other damage.
I know your mowing was a necessary evil, but personally, I do NOT brush hog my property until late July as I don't want to run over any fawns, turkey poults, or quail chicks. But this is a decision that I make for my farm. Everyone has their own priorities.
I usually do the exact same thing every year. Usually sets me back but I feel better about it. This mowing was only a few spots to prepare for new food plots, which will ultimately help all the wildlife. Thanks

Controlled burns are about to be your new best friend.
Not sure why, but it’s so satisfying seeing you open up them trails. Looks like so much fun
Oh man you are not kidding!! Very much so! And even more so when I get the excavator there! This is work, but it is also fun and very satisfying! Thanks have a great weekend!
The opportunity are endless. Beautiful 🎉
Oh, that is sooooo 100!! It will be great to LIVE on our new project property!!! No transporting equipment any more!!
Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. TFS
Thank you so much! I soooo can't wait to clean the place up!!
It would be nice to have enough rain to be doing this. Love the way the pond shows up now. 👍

Going keep the equipment busy for awhile! Looking good 👍
Oh man, for years!! But hey it's all good stuff to accomplish!! Have a great weekend!
Fantastic News about the HS Internet, about time some of us little people catch a break.
Yep, totally awesome! But I am a skeptic, so I'll wait to celebrate until AFTER the install! They have a LOT of rock obstacles along the way!! Thanks

I've seen them and I agree it would be a great fit for a tractor loader for hard to reach areas! Good choice!

Looking good Joe, more good news with the fibre line for free
Awesome! This is so much fun, even though it is work!! Stay tuned! We're going back tomorrow morning! Thanks
Good stuff! I love what you guys have done.
Thank you, this is a huge and awesome life undertaking! Looking forward to each day!
Good video really nice to see a start to the trail system and a clean up of the pond dam 🤔 good days work 💪💪👍

A productive road trip, looks good after bush hogging around the pond. Good news about the internet!
Looking better already 👀
Another small bite 👍well done sir ! If you had to guess how many deer per square mile ?

That's the plan! I will definitely try to bring things to life from the 'air' with overhead/satellite and drone pics as well! Thanks
Suggestion... Tire Ject is a great product for tractor tires getting punctured as it seals itself up..... It has a 4.8 rating for atv tires
Yep, I do have a similar product that can close a larger hole than tire ject! But same principle! I'll be bringing it to the MO farm for sure!! Thanks
I learned today on another utube vid that you can keep mosquitos away 15 ft if you have coffee grounds burning a little
I'd like to hear it!
K apper you look like a kid in candy store. Lol. I'm happy for ya.
lol that is living the dream!! I love this stuff!! Thank you

You ought to look into a lane shark. For the front of tractor
I sure would if I didn't have a brush cutter for my mini excavator. That is what I currently use for trail clearing. Thanks
You gotta feel like a sculptor just starting to chip away at the stone with an image in your mind on what this will look like. Try not to tackle it all the 1st month though 😉
Oh man no doubt!! And even if I wanted to, I need YEARS not months! LOL
Not sure how big your tractor is but id look into one of those brown tree cutters, very effective for the money
Not sure which tree cutter attachment you are referring to? Like a mulcher attachment?
You need a bobcat/skid steer with one of those brush cutter attachments
Yeah it would be nice but I had to sell to make this happen financially! So we'll go with what we've got! Thanks
When are you going to have the moving company show up to bring all your house hold things? You going to leave your Illinois house furnished for the showing or go ahead and empty the house out?
No we are keeping all of our furnishings! Not 100 yet but likely mid July!
It seems like since he's looked at so many homes for sale, he would know what "staging" is! I think he missed your point!
There is no way I would take out all that mid Story brush in that field,. That’s a lot of cover and you mostly have Closed canopy woods.
Well if you don't keep them fields you will lose them. I will be making strategic clear cuts throughout and many new micro plots/fields and they will all come with new field edge. You'd think you was a beef farmer with all that land. Interesting.
Yeah we are finding out that 'paying any rent' for land not much interest!!
Just asking to learn: Why did you choose to cut in reverse?
Two reasons; One is that there are stobs/trees so instead of running them over going forward and risking tearing something off the underside of your tractor, when you go in reverse you eliminate that threat. 2 is that when you are mowing blind, you can creep in reverse and as you cut you can see where the ground is so you know your tires are on good ground and not about to go over a cliff, or in this case into the pond!
