    Very beautiful! From the initial picture I thought that it was a painted effect, but it was much more! Excellent work.

    You did an awesome job with the carving. Just a little tip, I use a vise for my carving.

      I was watching, waiting for a light bulb, some sort of clamp, anything. Carvers watch turners, turners watch carvers, we all look for better ways to do things. And some way to make sanding disappear forever.

    Mate, as a wood carver, first, thanks!, but most importantly, second - don't ever carve towards your hand! I've dug a 2" straight chisel into my palm doing that. It's not fun. I was lucky, missed all the tendons, just a few stitches. I'd recommend just flattening the piece then carving before shaping, so you can clamp the bugger too
