What a beautiful SOUL.....she was so kind to me when my young brother passed in '78. I wrote to her to thank her for all the laughs she gave us both and how much my bro loved her...sent me a postcard of her in a tutu and a wand with a goose at her feet (Mother Goose) i lost that postcard and i wanted to frame it.....maybe my bro received in in heaven!
Gilda Radner and Madeline Kahn, two extremely talented comedians and actors who we lost far too soon. Incredible women who I could always count on for a hardy laugh.
I'm a huge Gilda fan & to this day (at 67) still find myself using her quotes like never mind or..."Its always something, if it ain't 1 thing, its another, but its ALWAYS something" ~ Rosanne Rosanna Dana
There are days I too am approaching. In fact, I am days away from 67. I can’t have a clear thought in my head but let me see the fact that Gloria Vander jeans are back and all I have is the Rosanne Rosanna Danna poem about gloria, Vanderbilt jeans in my head. Don’t ask me the address of my best friends house I can’t remember it. But I can brightly go to Lisa Leubner with Todd when Danny came in playing the Norge man. in pants that were too tight and a shirt that was too short. The Saturday night she passed away the cast could hardly get through the show and no one could blame them. A magnificent light had gone out. Steve Martin was the host and they showed a clip. It wasn’t a clip it was four or five minutes and she dancing together and it was pretty unbelievable. I have no doubt that they could hardly wait for the show to end and doing it must’ve been pure hell. I have the VHS tape of it that’s how old it is of Gilda Live. I cried when she died I cried that night watching the show. I cried when John Candy died. The one thing I can say about John Candy and Chris Farley passing even though they were completely completely different reasons. It gave my cousin the wake up, he needed to knock off some of, his extra pounds. I won’t embarrass him by telling you his name he is a great man a great funny, funny man and he carries the same weight issue that our entire family does. But he got a dose of common sense and for that I am grateful and it’s weird because all I’d have to say was one word, and you know exactly who I was talking about, Barbara Walters’s parents named her that just the same way as my parents named me Barbara Walsh. I had started college when Saturday Night Live came on and Baba Wawa was also my nickname for a long time.
When Saturday Night Live first started, that was the best cast. I babysat for the neighbors 2 doors down and watched Saturday Night Live. What a cast. Gilda was so talented. RIP Gilda.
Does anyone else remember a skit where Gilda plays Wm. Shatner's daughter and keeps calling him into her bedroom to check for a monster in her closet? Think it was Shatner and would love to see that again❣️🌿
I also think of my mom when I watch Gilda. My mom loved her and I have very precious memories of some hysterical moments with my mom watching Gilda on SNL. Our mom died on June 16th 1988, so Gilda's death a few months later left a poignant sadness without mom around to share that with.
I have her book. And cherish seeing her in all her performances. It was her father who said "It's Always Something". Thank you, Gilda... forever!! 💖🌹💖🌹💖
I loved Gilda Radner, she was an amazing woman. Gene Wilder was perfect for her and when she died he never got over it. I met his cousin Glenn R. Wilder who was a stuntman, and he told me that Gene would sit in her chair with the lights out night after night. 💔🌹
Gilda was my favorite SNL cast member. Everything she did was so funny. I am grateful for the joy she gave me with her performances and I never get tired of watching her. I am sad she is gone but happy that I had the privilege to have her become part of my life.
Too bad all they mostly showed in this vid is how OTHERS tried to explain 'how' and 'why' Gilda was funny, instead of just showing Gilda being funny. Eh, for the most part.
Whata joy to find Gilda in here 😂 and all some our best comediennes!!! RIP Gilda & all your friends with you ❤ You guys were all hilarious I miss you!! 😢
I loved Gilda!! No one can ever come close to her talent for making people laugh and feel joyful. She was a beautiful and sweet original, sharing her joy with everyone. Thank you, Gilda ❤️
Saturday Night live started when I was in college. We had a get together at our apartment to watch the first one. I made the mistake of going to the bathroom thinking it was a commercial. It was just a skit making fun of commercials. Gilda has always been my favorite. Was heartbroken when I found out she had cancer. So much happiness she brought to all.
A tribute is about a person that show cases others who worked with her and clips of her best performances. I personally like these tributes, and it makes me sad, too. She was a special person. My mother lost a close friend to Ovarian Cancer, too.
One of my favorites, I heard on the radio while driving the 150 miles from my home town to my home when married. ( from the house of someone who didn't.t get her to one who couldn't get through her routines without crying from laughing) It was Roseanne Rosannadanna meeting Walter Cronkite. I had to pull over and will never forget it. My life long friend and I sign off on emails with "It is always something" or" Never mind" to "My little Roseanne Roseannedanna"
Sometimes when I’m a little bummed out, I catch myself singing, “Let’s Talk Dirty to the Animals.” I can still see Gilda performing it in my head, too. Always cheers me up. God bless you, Gilda, for all the joy and laughter you brought to the world.
I LOVED Gilda Radner (my generation.) She was a huge part of SNL. Love hearing her parents adored and encouraged her. She deserved to be adored. It's so sad she had to leave us so soon. ❤
Thank you. Over the decades, I've had to draw on my experience of being a certain age in order to do things that would be impossible for the age I am now.
If a person's life could be measured by the number of smiles that she brought to peoples faces, then she was indeed an enormously successful person. I smile just thinking if her.
Thank you! Gilda Radner was actually my favorite Favorite during the early years of SNL. I am so in a bind today. Two weeks ago I was thrown from a horse and I today am almost recovered from COVID. I am about to start teaching Natures Treasures Sculpture Class and I have to tell the admin that I cannot come into class until I am better. I watched Gilda and I wonder how she would handle this call.
I'll NEVER forget the SNL that announced Her death, it was Steve Martin, and the first time i ever cried(hours) over the loss of a celebrity. Monday mornings during my high school years were imitations of Gilda's latest sketches. I loved her dearly😍!💝💯♾️
I really miss Gilda. SNL started when I graduated high school. She was a true gift to the world. She would really appreciate the times we are going through. 💔😅🙏🏼💙💙💙
I will never forget her on Saturday night live,I remember her so well as a child up until the year she passed away so drastically after her career so short after SNl,I will never forget her.Her husband Jean Wilder was also one of my favorites as well
I was in my 20's when Saturday Night Live first began, and of course, I loved every skit especially John Belushi and Gilda Radner's skits. I wish this tribute had shown more of her rather than comments from celebrities. Another all time favorite and stand out comedian was Madeline Khan. To this day, whenever I see Gilda or Madeline, they just make me want to laugh even before they say anything because I know I will love whatever they do.
Love Gilda, her book "Its Always Something" was a one day read because I couldn't put it down. I did love Lucy and Laverne and Shirley as they did all their physical comedic skits BUT theres something about Gilda that made her #1 in my book.
You KNEW it was coming. You could see it coming from a mile away. When it was delivered, it was no surprise. You expected it. You anticipated it. And it was hilarious EVERY TIME. "Never mind."
I used to sneak out of bed to watch SNL as a kid then I would rush home to watch it while working at McD’s! I always got caught because I laughed so hard! I cried when she left us! 😔
Loved going back in time and watching Gilda's performances! Thank you. I could have enjoyed it more had there been less talking/ intro before each of her comic portrayals
Carmen Miranda, Lucille Ball, Marilyn Monroe, Lily Tomlin and Gilda Radner were my favorite female comedians ever. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I Thank God that I was born in the era when these ladies were on TV and the big Silver Screen. I cannot imagine a world without knowing who these ladies were ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
More Gilda being funny, as we all know she was, and less commentary on how Gilda was funny. Respect her legacy, not the opinions of those who knew her. Thank you.
One of the funniest women of all time. She gave us gut laughs. How many people spit their coffee or drinks across the room when she came out of nowhere with her outrageous comedic stuff? Legend. Other comedians from Gene wilder, to Jane Curtain, to anybody talented could be still more funny playing off her.
Yes to above. Her Rosanne Rosannadanna was hysterical. I would be on the floor laughing. It was so tragic that she died so young. I think she thought she was pregnant but actually had cancer.😅

When Saturday Night Live first started, that was the best cast. I babysat for the neighbors 2 doors down and watched Saturday Night Live. What a cast. Gilda was so talented. RIP Gilda.
If more people followed Gilda's philosophy of life, I firmly believe that the world would be a better place for all.
Gilda was a gift from God. I still have so many fun memories from her SNL days.
Loved Gilda & the whole crew at that time❤️ They were the best & at 83 I still say “never mind”😂🤣😅
Me too!

I’m 62 and I love SNL back in the 70s. The best.
My Mother loved Gilda Radner's comedy sketches. Gilda died May 20th 1989. My Mom died not long after on June 16th 1989.
I also think of my mom when I watch Gilda. My mom loved her and I have very precious memories of some hysterical moments with my mom watching Gilda on SNL. Our mom died on June 16th 1988, so Gilda's death a few months later left a poignant sadness without mom around to share that with.
She was a super lady and a genuinely unique talent. I still play her Live from New York album regularly.
The world is so diminished without Johnny Carson and Gilda Radner.
I have her book. And cherish seeing her in all her performances.
It was her father who said "It's Always Something". Thank you, Gilda... forever!! 💖🌹💖🌹💖
The Universe gave us a gift. Gone way too soon. Yet through her captures videos she remains for us and futuer generations.
I still say "never mind" & "It's always something". ❤ The young-uns stare at me blankly. They don't know what they're missing.
Very nice to see this again. I saw it on TV and cried at the end, history repeated itself for me😪. I miss her dearly. She's the best!
Gilda is so missed. I loved her, she could make you laugh and laugh hard, she was and still remains the best!
My idol growing up. Thank you for posting to continue her contribution to beauty in the world. Miss you so much, Gilda!❤

This is a wonderful tribute to a wonderful, beautiful and loving person. Long Live Gilda Radner

The skit where Steve Martin and Gilda played deer crossing the road was hysterical
I loved and miss Gilda😢 Thank you for this wonderful tribute🎉❤
Wish we could see more of Gilda….
Roseanne Rosannadanna was the best. 😂
In grade school I sat behind a girl named Rosie Coderio. That was Rosanne Rosannadanna to a T. Same hair and everything.
I loved Gilda! One of the funniest female comics of all time!

or all of the talent of the show then
It's up to us to pass it on!! My kids (40 & 37) know what I'm saying when I say "Never mind", and they laugh with me!
Have you ever heard of Kristen Wiig?
Gave us a legacy of laughter!
Thank you.
