The gap is designed to be there to help dampen the shock of firing on the plastic. The Germans found that if it was 1 piece it would crack there so they designed the mp40 to have 2 parts with a gap. A real mp40 has the same thing.
@gnutzguy the only thing that's a bummer is the only way I can have a folding stock for my MP40 is I will half to SBR it through the ATF a $200 stamp , I will get one eventually it will make the gun look even more cooler 😎.
must file and must have a restricted class license to buy any center-fire ammo rifles with barrel less than 18.5", and can only shoot in a gun range. barrel longer than 18.5" do not require to file and buy with lower non-restricted license and be allowed to hunt or take it out into the bush. we have 3 class of licenses, non-restricted, restricted and prohibited.
i cant remember how long exactly, maybe a few weeks to get the restricted lic but i do remember taking both the non-restricted and restricted course at the same time. both licenses are good for 5 years then i have to reapply without taking another course. so to buy a SBR, i need to call the rcmp to approve the transfer (they keep track of SBR & pistols) that could take anywhere from 2 days to 3 weeks depending on the province you live in. no cost to transfer and the gun is shipped directly to my home.
You can have that with the stock in Canada????? I can't have that in u.s. without FTA approval. I didn't think you could even own a hand gun in Canada.
we are allowed to own hand guns and this 9mm is in the same class as a pistol so its restricted to range use only therefore no laws against attaching stock. rimfire are in a different class. imho, this iconic weapon should always have a stock, without it... it looks a little weird.
@@gnutzguy Thank you for the reply. My mom is from, and lives in Canada, so I have dual citizenship. I think about moving there all the time. That's the one thing I would miss, shooting. I would miss my AR's, but could live without them. When I lived there as a kid in Early 1980's, everyone had guns. Mostly rifles on rack in rear window of truck. It was Nova Scotia. Tony River. Agreed on the stock, I saw the real one in full auto at gun show. That's restricted here, and at 15k dollars, I'll never own it. Lol.
Toney River with an "e" ? it looks picturesque, would be a great place to retire to and not worry about gun ownership. the trudeau government announced they want to ban assault rifles and allow cities to ban pistols. wtf?
@@krisn8820 You might own one! With all of these kids out there on cell phones and driving? I thought I would never own a 1969 1/2 Dodge A12 (440 Six Pack) Super Bee. Sitting at a red light in 2017 out of nowhere it happened. I had a serious neck surgery, couldn't work for over a year, but now? I own a BNZ marked MP40 ($17,000) and a 1968 1/2 Dodge Super Bee! This is a gorgeous gun and now I want one after watching this video. Thank you dude!

then please explain why there is no gap (the two sides touching each other) on my 22lr and other 9mm i see on youtube.
Hey that’s awesome
@@gnutzguy maybe because it had to be manufactured differently, or otherwise just built in a different way to align with gun laws.
That is NOT correct, Original MP40 bakelite stocks are one piece. The have a mold line down the center, but they are indeed one piece.
I just purchased one, and I love it . I think my AR-15 is going to be jealous 😅
Good choice!

Hey my friend, do you figure it out how to fix the gap close to the safety? My MP40 has the same gap that I want to fix it
are you referring to this gap? th-cam.com/video/Rl4WRL5Hrv8/w-d-xo.html
Is that Canada allow citizen to buy short barrel rifle without filing any paper like in the US?

How long doe it take to get a restricted license? And every time you buy a short barrel rifle, do you have to re apply again like us?

Is there a barrel shroud that looks like a suppressor for the ridiculously long barrel ( non restricted version)?
none that i know of.
so what happens when the barrel gets worn out, how does one change it? Original MP 40s had capability to change barrel.
They are barrel linings. I'm not sure if that can be replaced
