@Aaron Daneils When he started off in Sacramento he had a lot of turnovers, but that was also the time he had a lot of showtime. It’s why he got traded. It seemed like when he started to play with Shaq he started to mature as a point guard. He will always be one of my favorite players for his creativity though.👍

I love this cannel. Your basketball knowledge and appreciation for the history and old-school ball is second to none. I understand that the game has changed.. but in my humble opinion, NOT for the better. The pure art of basketball has been lost, which is very unfortunate. When a point guard was a pass-first quarterback of the team.. when a shooting guard was a slasher and shot creator, not just a spot-up three-point shooter primarily. When a small forward was a slasher and also in most cases a shot creator and wing defender. When a power forward averaged 10-plus rebounds and was a post-up scorer. When a center was the anchor of the defense, and in many cases was where the offenses was ran thru. It was artistry at its finest. Now, point guards are score first three-point shooters primarily. In many cases, they aren't even the quarterbacks of the team anymore. All four positions (other than center) are three-point threats. I just don't want my 6 foot 9 inch forward leading the team in 3pt attempts. That is NOT basketball. I understand this younger generation finds the old school basketball of the 80s and 90s boring. But that was when positions did certain things that were required by that position. When a coach needed to actually be a good to great coach because they had to scheme plays that didnt require someone shooting a three at the end of it. Old school basketball (real basketball) was chess.. and today's game is checkers. yes, it is a higher scoring game today.. but that is because there are double the possessions because teams are shooting threes within seconds of the shot clock. Todays game is simply who hits more threes. In 1995, when the NBA was at its absolute most popular, teams took an average of 5.5 threes a game. Teams shoot 32 threes a game in todays game! That is absolutely atrocious! That is NOT basketball. That is a three-point competition!

Although he was never an all star and although his stats are not the beefiest, he truly changed the modern game of basketball. That Sacramento Kings around 1999-2000 changed the NBA forever. It was infectious. I would legit watch random Sacramento Kings games just to watch this guy because he was so mesmerizing. If you told somebody today that you were randomly watching Sacramento Kings games, they would think you were on heavy drugs. But as fore-mentioned, though his stats weren’t the greatest, I truly believe that his IMPACT on the game was so immense that you cannot tell the story of the NBA without including White Chocolate, thus I think he should at least be considered for the HOF. A lot of true greatness get belittled by a stat line. Granted, stats are important, but IMPACT is a real thing, and to eventually become an NBA champion with his early adversary in Shaq is special. Just listen to how all of the greats talk about this man.

@@92akucaballero97Lmao 97.... lots of dull minds born in 97 it seems. Reoccurring theme lol. J Will changed the NBA by making the Pistol Pete 70s style of street ball popular in the modern game, cause it was extremely entertaining to watch! Why is a pass from Magic or Bird flashy and awesome, cause they also dropped 40 that night? J Will was creative and constantly forcing players to shift position because at ANY GIVEN MOMENT he could whip a pass to a corner shooter or make 3 guys at the rim jump to block a shot he never even thought about taking before dumping a behind the back pass to a big NOBODY is in position to guard. Dudes flowers aren't from his numbers, they are for the style and energy he put into the game 💯 And the reason why he's still being talked about in 2024 😤

And even after watching the replay, often you still weren't sure how he did his trick.

Crazy good was Jdub in HS bro. I played against him and Randy Moss when both were at Du Pont HS. It is a small country town and it produced JW, Randy and former Chicago Bears DB Bobby Howard. Anyways, they would stomp us every year. Jason was also a gym rat. Literally the last one to leave and was always practicing crazy passes. Everyone would come out to watch them play like it was a college game.
Williams breaking ankles and lobby up oops on the break that Moss would catch on the block and posterize everyone. Then I got to watch them both play at Marshall U. Jason only stayed for a year and then left with Billy Donovan to Florida. I have old videotapes here I might upload. Jason was a good QB as well.

Jason Williams, in my opinion easily had one of the greatest nicknames in all sports, not just basketball but sports in general. It’s an ABSOLUTE travesty he never made an all-star team! Until Nikola Jokkić came along, he was the last great passer. I will always have admiration for him because of the magic he performed on the court.

A diehard Laker fan (born in L.A. in the 60's) after growing up on Pistol Pete Maravich then living in L.A. during the 80's, 90's & 2000's starting with watching Magic, Bird, Isiah Thomas, Mark Jackson, John Stockton, Jason Kidd, (Gary Payton, Mark Price, then Nick the Quick Van Exel, etc., thru to Steve Nash) then the first time I saw White Chocolate J-Will Jason Wms., I was struck and stunned, he did things none of those before him had done, he actually put goose bumps and shivers all over me even more than Magic did (and I watched essentially every game Magic played and had hundreds of VHS taped games lol), sure, Magic, Bird, Cousy, Pistol Pete, etc., did some spectacular 'trick/unique' passes but J-Will had even more PLUS he had quickness even more than those guys did. J-Will really did make you want to and have to pay closer attention and WOWED the crowd at a higher level. IMHO I almost committed sacrilege and almost moved to Sacto (couldn't help but be a fan).
