Oooooooooooh yessssssssss ! Many thanks Joseph for this. I hope the first from a long serial ! I love HC16, but I would like to improve laser ! I’m your fan from France in Les Sables d’Olonne. Laurent
Watching this as a recap. Thanks a lot. Informative and concise. Do you also have a video about how to swap out the mast & sail? Or how you store the boat? (which parts remain attached to the boat.)
This will be a great series. I love my H16 but have often thought about getting a Laser for when I want to go sail without all of the setup of the 16. Will this series include a speed run? I’d love to see what kind of speeds to expect from a Laser
@JoyriderTV stupid questions , I used to sail them in the 70s in Sydney & I saw them race today - does the top deck crack often / is it a common problem (i'm pretty sure they're hollow) & what stops water getting into the boat & weighing it down ?
Thank you, very clear and easy to understand. One more thing whilst I'm here, I've been looking at either the Laser or the Solo, but is it true that the boom is higher on the Solo, that might be a deciding factor at my past prime years!
I know this isn’t about lasers but once my friend and I put a Catalina 16 jib onto a pico and we had 3 sails on a tiny boat and were absolutely zooming I wish there was a way to put a jib on a laser
Mate this is a great video. Well-done. You speak really clearly and explain just enough detail
Glad you liked it!
laser is love laser is life
🤩
Really great short concise tips for how to trim sails in general. Thank you, love your channel
Thanks for watching! I'm glad that it is helpful

Thank you very much!
Love the Laser, hate the mainsheet traveler setup.
Yes. It's not ideal!
@@JoyriderTV Can you take a full rig out in 20 knots?
I 'd like to see what you can get it to do.
Too much for me at 65kg.
Yesss!!! Thankyou
You're welcome!!

How rudder is holding at upward position?
It's just friction from the bolt.
Thank you, very clear and easy to understand.
One more thing whilst I'm here, I've been looking at either the Laser or the Solo, but is it true that the boom is higher on the Solo, that might be a deciding factor at my past prime years!
I'm not so familiar with the Solo but i'm pretty sure that is the case
So you have the daggerboard halfway up on reaches?
Yes, as you don't need the amount of leeway prevention as on the upwind.
Hi, very nice video. I have a question and it’s what do you think is a better dinghy for fun and enjoyment, laser or europe?
I think the Laser is less complex and there are more of then about - so the Laser wins!
Useful and informative? Yeah, definitely!! Entertaining? 🤔
.. I'll get back to u on that one.
Thanks for posting!!
Ha! Thanks!

Yes, that would certainly be fun!
Unfortunately the translation has gone haywire! Examples: painter: bosse, downhaul: cunningham, outhaul: (réglage de) bordure, vang: hale-bas, traveler: pantoire, etc, etc
Oh dear. Yes, I can imagine that google couldn't get it right!
Very basic dinghy...............how it should be!! Keep Safe!
You too.
Pure sailing with a Laser
Lol you have my name too
