This is such a cool video. My favourite thing about Hollow Knight is how satisfying it is to finally defeat a boss you’ve put what feels like hundreds of attempts into. My first save file took me 70 hours and I only reached about 80% completion during that time (I kept getting lost and dying at the beginning lol) but you feel like you’ve achieved so much by the end. I can only imagine how amazing the feeling is to 112% the game and win all achievements. You’re making me want to try it out just from the look on your face at the end 😭 well done.
Bro... I got 111% completion in my first full playthrough (I only needed one more vessel fragment) and started messing around with glitches after a while since I wanted to start speedrunning the game, and ended up getting a fake bench. The screen showed the room just outside Queen's Station stag when I loaded the file, but not my character. Since I'm on PlayStation and not pc, I couldn't use the debug mod to fix it so I had to delete the file with my first completion of the game, my first clear of radiance, my first file getting past P3, and a file I put over 115 hours of grinding the game to git gud. The satisfaction of 112% was robbed from me by stupid fluffing room duping... Don't room dupe Queen's Gardens over Queen's Station stag rooms. It spawns you in thorns, and because thorns are environmental hazards, i-frames don't do fluffing anything to help you.
It didn't make the cut, but I did path of pain and saw the cutscene. It's hard to fit a platforming challenge in a video that's already 50 minutes long haha
Great video and good job getting every success ❤ 👀 but there s still a bit of content even with every success, you can give a delicate flower to godseeker and redo P5 to get a new ending, get the golden zote statue, do 57 at eternal ordeal, get the void idols... I was also surprised about the percentage of players getting the success : on Steam, Embrace the Void is at 4.9% and here it s less than 1%
TY ❤ Those particular pieces of content don't contribute to the achievements, so I passed on them. Also, I imagine things are going to be higher on steam in general since people can edit game files and such
A new Morgan video!? 😍 The perfect ending to a Sunday evening. I feel like there should be a visible thing to show your suffering for these achievements. Maybe something like a death counter would be nice. Thought that about the Sekiro video already. Hard to tell how much time you actually pour into these. Don't sell yourself short on that! 😁
I'm glad you're here for this! I had the death counter in the single achievement videos, but this one was recorded over such a long time that I forgot to keep track half way through 😂. I'll keep that in mind for the next video though!
I don't know if you checked but there's an empty eggshell in the stag nest, that's why the achievement is called hope, because there's hope that other stags survived!
Man those crystal flying bugs were the most annoying part of the game, I rage quited so many times trying to pass that damn crystal cave, but damn man congrats for not going insane chasing that 100%! Awesome dedication and nice vid!
My guy! Been waiting on this vid! Another banger vid, worth the wait. Editing and script are clean af, definitely noticing an improvement every vid. Keep up the hard work man! 🎉
@@TheSaltyOnion I highly recommend the game, but the completion is really tough. I'm sending you boat loads of luck, and I'll see you in the next video!
As someone who just recently beat Pantheon 5 for the first time, I'm glad another video like this crossed my Suggestions list. Congrats on completing this masterpiece of a game. Now for Silksong! Man, your experiences in P5 are exactly like mine. Markoth is such a punk. But great job doing all of this!
As someone who has gone through the completion process of Hollow Knight about two or three times. I couldn't help but chuckle and nod in agreement to some things said in this video. There are some extra levels of pain you could do like fighting all the bosses in the Hall of Gods at Radiant difficulty but getting 112% along with all the achievements is a big enough triumph. Good freaking job!
I got to the Watcher Knights and after something like 20-50 attempts I gave up the game. I thought about going back, but listening to your commentary I realise that I simply don't receive any dopamine from beating hard bosses. The moments I enjoy are story beats and art design. The fighting is something I do to get to those. So I don't think I'll go back.
I think that's completely fair TBH. I always heard people talk about how the difficulty of the game was one of the best parts, but after playing through everything I can say that I was close to taking a permanent break haha. After the first 70 hours, I felt content with the game. I took a few weeks off, and when I came back the spark was there. My biggest issue was the time commitment TBH, so I can definitely see why the difficulty wouldn't give you that fulfilment considering how long it is
Just so you know, watcher knights is the hardest required boss. And before you fight it, you can get basically every upgrade available. If you do go back, getting upgraded spells, max nail, and shade cloak will trivialize the fight
I gotchu! I originally used some super speed run guide, but after that speedrun skip to Isma's grove, I changed to this guide mid run, and it was fantastic: th-cam.com/video/Yl9mU9Nozoc/w-d-xo.html I probably could've gotten steel heart + speedrun achievements if I used this from the start. TBH this is the best guide out there IMO
Fun fact: there is another ending you're missing, bring a delicate flower to the Godseeker in the junk pit and complete P5 again. You'll also get an update on your mushroom buddy who's flying through the air I believe.
Absolute banger of a video, wish I could watch this again without knowing what'll happen. SO, I'll try rewatching this in a year or two so I get the same experience again hopefully.
Might have just found one of my new favorite content creators, what a ride this video was. Now to deep dive into the hole Basement's catalogue. Keep it up! It's good stuff. Also do you stream these playthroughs? Would love to watch them live and POG out with you and chat.
Yooo I love to hear it! I'm sure you'll see that some of the older videos were a bit under produced 😂 I was on a live stream hiatus to edit, but we'll be back some time this week for communal POGS
The fact there’s even more to do after completing every achievement really shows just how big this game is I can’t wait for when you do a video on silksong in 54 years
Skipped ahead to 47:18 to hear your closing remarks. Good to know that this is game is an ez 100%. Maybe next video you’ll showcase a game with some real difficulty, like peepaw’s farm 🍆
@@morgansbasement haha yeah I was joking of course. Coming from a fellow achievement hunter, I watched the whole thing and thought it was great. I love these types of videos :)
I had seen conflicting info prior to starting, so I didn't want to risk it. I also wanted to speed run it, but TBH I could've done it in hindsight since I was so slow anyway lol
There's elements that are predictable, but the random spawns for the balloons, the random bugs, and the slight shrug he does before walking you down just feels bad IMO. When I compare that fight to some of the others, it just doesn't hit the spot
Idk if you’ll see this but, in steel soul you don’t lose the file if you die in a dream. So fighting and dying against dream re fights, pantheons and even the Radiance fight don’t count as real deaths. The first 3 pantheons could’ve been an easy 3% on that achievement. Regardless, awesome video and amazing grind.
I had seen conflicting info on this when I was planning steel soul, so I thought it would be safer to skip it. I also wanted that speedy 5 hour run, and it took awhile to slot that in. In hindsight it would've been safer since I wasn't even close to the speedruns lmao
Only 132 hours put in to beating 112% and P5 (excluding the steel soul save) is fucken insane to me I was at 380 hours before doing decent progress in P5 Excellent work sir Subbed
Oh damn, I thought I was way behind the average player TBH. The estimates I saw online said 80 hours to get through it. This is one of those games that estimates mean nothing I guess haha
Most of platforming challanges shouldn't even be difficult. The only ones that should be challanging are path of pain and white palace (obviously) and maybe crystal peak section because the players don't have double jump at that point. By the way I love seeing new players discover this amazing game and be part of this beautiful community. And congrats on beating P5
Path of pain was really hard, but by the time I got there I was better at platforming and I had the damage->to soul charms, so I didn't have to walk back as much lol. But I was absolutely BUNS at the start lmao
The hollow knight is such a great boss because if you go directly to them, they’re a phenomenal challenge worthy of final boss, while if you intend to get the best ending, they’re a cakewalk on the way to the radiance.
hollow knight is the best game i have ever played i spent over 500 hours playing this game and i got all of the achievements and when i got the embrace the void achievement i didn’t want to leave the game i feel bad when i try to play other game instead of hollow knight there’s something magical about this game ❤❤
@@morgansbasementto be fair the first two came with my PlayStation and we’re like 4 years old, when I started p5 they already had stick drift, I threw one of them when I died to nightmare grim and the other I squeezed to hard and the old plastic came apart(they also were in the sun for a long time so the plastic became brittle)…. I don’t have excuses for the other two
As someone who did a no hit of every boss in the game except Markoth I can confirm he is the hardest boss in the game. (if you want to fall in love with a game and suffer at the same time in this series I cant recommend Celeste enough)
Respect the fuck outta the grind at the end. At the start it was clear you didn't play many platformers. That absolute radiance fight was clean af. Could def tell you grinded and practiced hard. Good stuff dude.
I love how he consistently tells us he sucks at platforming and then chooses to not talk about White Palace at all. It must have been a bad time, if he just does not want to talk about it. Also have you truly finished the game without beating Path of Pain?
I actually didn't rage during the white palace/path of pain lmao. I definitely would have shown it if it was funny 😂, but I was just casually beating it on a live stream
So, since you mentioned that you were way too stubborn to start a new game file without Grey Prince Zote in the Pantheons, I take it you did not find out that you cannot actually die in someone's mind? Dying in the pantheons does not end your Steel Soul run.
I had seen conflicting info regarding death in the pantheons, so I never entered in steel soul, but I did die to the Lost Kin dream fight for like 1.5 hours LOL. So I knew about those dream fights, but I wasn't sure about the pantheons
I found everything hard, only have just beaten Sly on Patheon 3 after months of trying, he is a zippy little bastard 😅😅 I’m at 111% now and really want to get 112% before Silksong…I still have to find all the Mr Mushroom locations and there are still little things that I’m discovering about this amazing game! Not sure if I’ll bother with the speed run achievements as I’m not that way inclined and I’ve spent nearly 300 hours on my main play through already. 😅
ima be real in abt 300 hrs i completed all acheivements on 2 diff platforms and ive almost dome radhog on steam which isnt an acheivement but harder than anythin else
to be fair i beat p5 for the second time earlier today but eh still great to see some1 playing the game and enjoying it (in the weird semi masochistic way that hollow knight is)
@@g0fy4z I reply to *most* of the comments! I also got used to face tanking with thorns of agony, and it actually messed me up because I had to learn to dodge after using it for 60 hours lmao. So even though I didn't mention in the video, that comment related to one of my biggest struggles
I'm not trying to diminish your accomplishment, pantheon 5 is very difficult, congratulations really! But p5 felt like a pushover after RadHOG 😭 I was grinding RadHOG for a month or two, and on my first p5 run I got to AbsRad… it was super anticlimactic :( I still had to grind out the AbsRad fight first though. Also I don't remember hearing you talk about the white palace or path of pain? I did listen to this video while another game, so maybe I missed it. They're the platforming challenges and at least white palace is necessary for getting the voidheart charm. Oh btw if you climb through the modded difficulty levels of Celeste, at least up to red expert, you'll never be bad at a platformer again. I have to recommend Celeste for you though, it's a game about climbing a mountain, the mountain that is conquering anxiety and other mental problems. Even if you don't get into modded, Celeste is a really fun platformer, and it's super forgiving. If you want the best introduction to platofrmers on the market, and maybe even the best 2D platformer ever, play Celeste.
RadHOG is in a whole different level haha. I don't think I would have the patience for that. You're a legend for getting that done I did do POP and the white palance, they just didn't make the video because the content wasn't super interesting haha, but the Celeste recommendation is one I've heard before, and it's one I will DEF be doing in the future (at least the vanilla stuff, not the modded stuff)
@@morgansbasement I will definitely stay tuned for that! I have to recommend you to at least look at some modded content, even if it's not for a video. Mods are super easy to get, and the difficulty ranges from the main story to incomprehensible levels. One particular collection of maps called Stawberry Jam Collab has content that suprasses vanilla regularly. I can't recommend it enough.
markoth and a few other random annoying select bosses are the reason im not attempting radhog (markoth, sly, nailmasters, obblobles etc). i did do absrad on radiant, but at least its an engaging and fun fight. theres a handful of fights that are just a chore to radiant because they just feel so "why am i even doing this"
It took me over 100h to fully complete the game and defeat every boss on Radiant. It was my 3rd game to 100% achivements on Steam. Huge GZ, man! This game totally deserves to 100% it!
When you were finishing off your first play through you said the first of three endings, but there are five endings. The first ending is when you beat the game and seal yourself as the Hollow knight, the second ending is when you beat the Hollow knight and seal yourself, along with hornet as a seal For the black egg, the third ending is when you beat the radiance the fourth ending is when you beat Pantheon 5, The the fifth ending is when you beat pantheon five after giving the God seeker the delicate flower.
I don't really count the additional 2 since they don't happen at the original end of game location, and they don't give an achievement, so it's hard to count them in the process. But I do see why you would bring them up

The satisfaction of 112% was robbed from me by stupid fluffing room duping... Don't room dupe Queen's Gardens over Queen's Station stag rooms. It spawns you in thorns, and because thorns are environmental hazards, i-frames don't do fluffing anything to help you.
You forgot path of pain
It didn't make the cut, but I did path of pain and saw the cutscene. It's hard to fit a platforming challenge in a video that's already 50 minutes long haha
Thia made me happy :) @@morgansbasement
Great video and good job getting every success ❤
👀 but there s still a bit of content even with every success, you can give a delicate flower to godseeker and redo P5 to get a new ending, get the golden zote statue, do 57 at eternal ordeal, get the void idols...
I was also surprised about the percentage of players getting the success : on Steam, Embrace the Void is at 4.9% and here it s less than 1%
TY ❤
Those particular pieces of content don't contribute to the achievements, so I passed on them.
Just today I was wondering when you're going to release a new video. Good stuff man. Really enjoyed your Wolfenstein video. Keep up the great work.
Thank you, buddy! This video is deviation from the FPS genre, but I hope it hits the same spot!

If you've beaten p5 too, then it sounds like WE mastered the game!
I don't know if you checked but there's an empty eggshell in the stag nest, that's why the achievement is called hope, because there's hope that other stags survived!
I did find it! It didn't make the final cut, but I explored that whole area
Incredible dedication! Looked absolutely horrible to grind out but worth it in the end boss! Congrats!
Thank you boss! I'm glad the pain came through haha

There seems to be universal truths in Hollow Knight. My favorite is the hatred for the primal aspids lol

I'm still pretty new to things, so I'm hyped up with the current stats! I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Great video. You inspired me to actually 100 percent the game myself
I love to hear it! Good luck!
@@oXRaptorzXojust shade cloak will make it a few times easier
Amazing video and congratulations. I want to get all the achievements as well so do you remember the guide you used for the speed run and steel soul?
@@morgansbasement thanks so much

I’m pretty sure that’s a no
Fun fact: there is another ending you're missing, bring a delicate flower to the Godseeker in the junk pit and complete P5 again. You'll also get an update on your mushroom buddy who's flying through the air I believe.
I am definitely not playing p5 again haha, but I watched the ending. Not much changes, but it's cool that it exists
Absolute banger of a video, wish I could watch this again without knowing what'll happen. SO, I'll try rewatching this in a year or two so I get the same experience again hopefully.

If only he knew that dying in a pantheon or dream fight (not including Radiance or anything in White Palace) doesn’t kill your Steel Soul run
I had seen conflicting info prior to starting, so I didn't want to risk it. I also wanted to speed run it, but TBH I could've done it in hindsight since I was so slow anyway lol
This video gave me the motivation to try to beat pantheon five
Happy 5 year anniversary of Silksong's announcement!
Thankfully I'm new to the wait! I feel for the people waiting for 5 years
I love zote as a boss, to beat him on radiant you have to realize he's waaaaay more predictable than it seems
Only 132 hours put in to beating 112% and P5 (excluding the steel soul save) is fucken insane to me
I was at 380 hours before doing decent progress in P5
Excellent work sir
Subbed
Oh damn, I thought I was way behind the average player TBH. The estimates I saw online said 80 hours to get through it. This is one of those games that estimates mean nothing I guess haha
@@morgansbasement I sir, am no average player

Most of platforming challanges shouldn't even be difficult. The only ones that should be challanging are path of pain and white palace (obviously) and maybe crystal peak section because the players don't have double jump at that point. By the way I love seeing new players discover this amazing game and be part of this beautiful community. And congrats on beating P5
Path of pain was really hard, but by the time I got there I was better at platforming and I had the damage->to soul charms, so I didn't have to walk back as much lol. But I was absolutely BUNS at the start lmao

Now I can’t even beat the ordinary Radiance, man, so much work. And the game is beyond good
The hollow knight is such a great boss because if you go directly to them, they’re a phenomenal challenge worthy of final boss, while if you intend to get the best ending, they’re a cakewalk on the way to the radiance.
Best game you can give the Flower other Charakters too
You are insane... That makes you one of us!😀
Officially bug brained ahaha
hollow knight is the best game i have ever played i spent over 500 hours playing this game and i got all of the achievements and when i got the embrace the void achievement i didn’t want to leave the game i feel bad when i try to play other game instead of hollow knight there’s something magical about this game ❤❤
I always ge ptsd when I see p5, took me like half a year on and off to do, 4 controllers and my patients for the next 4 years.
4 controllers is crazy lmao, but I'm glad the pain is mutual
@@morgansbasementto be fair the first two came with my PlayStation and we’re like 4 years old, when I started p5 they already had stick drift, I threw one of them when I died to nightmare grim and the other I squeezed to hard and the old plastic came apart(they also were in the sun for a long time so the plastic became brittle)…. I don’t have excuses for the other two
As someone who did a no hit of every boss in the game except Markoth I can confirm he is the hardest boss in the game. (if you want to fall in love with a game and suffer at the same time in this series I cant recommend Celeste enough)
At least 4 people have recommended Celeste after posting this video, and I think I will tackle it after a healthy platforming detox lool
Respect the fuck outta the grind at the end. At the start it was clear you didn't play many platformers. That absolute radiance fight was clean af. Could def tell you grinded and practiced hard. Good stuff dude.
Dude I was so bad at the start lol. This was my first ever platformer, so the learning curve was steep. I'm glad you enjoyed the journey!
I don't know if you've played it or not, but Ori and the Blind Forest could be a fun challenge.
I played the first one! I haven't played the one life mode, but that could be a good challenge for the future!
W🎉🎉
The goat 🐐
I was wondering why you didn’t show any of white palace
So, since you mentioned that you were way too stubborn to start a new game file without Grey Prince Zote in the Pantheons, I take it you did not find out that you cannot actually die in someone's mind? Dying in the pantheons does not end your Steel Soul run.
I had seen conflicting info regarding death in the pantheons, so I never entered in steel soul, but I did die to the Lost Kin dream fight for like 1.5 hours LOL. So I knew about those dream fights, but I wasn't sure about the pantheons
W vid. It’s insane how long this took but congrats bro. Looking forward to the next game

Not sure if I’ll bother with the speed run achievements as I’m not that way inclined and I’ve spent nearly 300 hours on my main play through already. 😅
I mean the speed run achievements will only take up a small fraction of your total play time 😂 might as well add them to the tally
Now do every pantheon with every binding to get a useless lore item

Oh another Hollow knight platinum guy, I also did, so congratulations!
Congrats to us!
I'm not trying to diminish your accomplishment, pantheon 5 is very difficult, congratulations really! But p5 felt like a pushover after RadHOG 😭
I was grinding RadHOG for a month or two, and on my first p5 run I got to AbsRad… it was super anticlimactic :(
I still had to grind out the AbsRad fight first though.
You're a legend for getting that done
I did do POP and the white palance, they just didn't make the video because the content wasn't super interesting haha, but the Celeste recommendation is one I've heard before, and it's one I will DEF be doing in the future (at least the vanilla stuff, not the modded stuff)
