G’day, mates! I recorded this video Feb. 4 - just one day before news outlets began reporting on rumors about Microsoft potentially taking some of their exclusive game franchises to other console platforms, like PlayStation and Nintendo. Carry on!
I have played pc in like 6-7 years now. Kinda boring playing alone. But i really like singleplayer games and multiplayer games. And im now starting to think that i should get rid of my pc, and buy a ps5 or xbox series x and a nice big tv, which i think would blend in with the singleplayer games. Thats how i started gaming, and it would be nice to sit in a sofa or bed playing consule.
I've got an Xbox series X and a Nintendo Switch and it's the perfect blend for me. It's the 1st Xbox I've owned since the 360. I owned a ps4 and wanted a PS5 but couldn't get one so went back to Xbox and I don't regret it. The Xbox is my main console and I love it.
Why the hell for? It has no good AAA exclusives, most of the games are/will be ported on PS5, PC and Microsoft are killing its studios to try and sell games as a service - Game Pass. It's a sinking ship, and one can only be in denial to stay on board.
For me Series X has been fantastic. I tried my friends PS5 and the exclusives Sony has this gen dont really appeal to me personally. They tend to look really nice but lack depth and the gameplay is too hand holding for my preference. I find games like Grounded, Starfield, and HiFi Rush to be much more attractive. I do like the gameplay loop in Gran Turismo though. The Hotwheels expansion for Forza was really fun though. With gamepass I have had a steady stream of games to try out and plenty of RPGs to play. The Microsoft store has provided some great deals for me as well. I got Cyberpunk for like $15 and the Witcher 3 for a similar price. I got Guardians of the Galaxy on sale for $15 or 20. I cant remember. I also recently got Lost Odyssey for free one day and Blue Dragon for $7. For me Series X has been perfect. I am not a big over the shoulder cinimatic game fan and I have a switch so I'm covered.
Nice! That’s a great point about the MS Store offering really solid deals and sales; I’ve grabbed lots of games on the cheap that way over the years, too (including the Witcher 3, as well).
@@CrossChopChris I just started a new playthrough of Witcher 3 and after the recent updates it looks and plays really nice on Series X. The version I got was the complete edition so the $15 sale price was a steal.
Still using my One X as primary and plan to for a while. There's definitely some games I like on PS4 Pro, and Steam, but I much prefer the Xbox hardware over PS.
I Purchase the Xbox series x at Christmas time when it was on sale for 350.00 dollars and only because it was on sale. I like that it can play all my older games and has disc drive in it because the new Xbox version may not have one.
My game pass ultimate runs out this year after having done the 3 year gold to GPU trick. I will definitely not be taking game pass out again, the first party game have been a general disappointment and am looking forward to building a PC in the future. PC has now the best of both worlds from PlayStation and Xbox.
I'm thinking about it, sooner or later it might be impossible to get the Xbox Series X with the disc drive. I don't think much to the new all white Xbox Series X and the all digital future looks bad. I'm still thinking about getting the Xbox Series X just for the Elders Scrolls 6. I've heard Steam is coming to Xbox, the question is when?
I havent upgraded from my one x...and now that i have a ps5..i am not about to drop 400 + to have access to a few exclusives. I love my one x though. Have had it since 2019 and love the 4k player and also that it plays cds (still purchase those).
Man, I fully back that stance on CDs big time! Still love picking up discs on the cheap when I find ‘em. And the One X is fantastic. Played that system so much, and gave mine to my brother when I bought my Series X.
@CrossChopChris man I've been gaming on a high end pc since covid, sold it back on xbox and I enjoy it more. No more constant annoying shades pre install bull crap on cod l
Omg Chris!!! I miss watching your videos! I have a series x and played it regularly, until my girlfriend got me a ps5 for Christmas. I do plan to still play the series X.
I've always been a PC gamer mostly. I've owned some consoles in the past, including the Xbox 360. I skipped last generation but wanted to get the Series X this generation. I've liked it so far. I've heard countless arguments of "xbox making no sense if you have a good gaming PC" but I just disagree on that one. I've never just been a fan of Sony exclusives or their controller. I like Microsoft's ecoysystem more (since it's also on PC so there's some things that sync between those two platforms like cloud saves, GamePass, Xbox Play Anywhere etc.) I like how Quick Resume and sometimes I just don't want to sit at a computer. I also don't want to plug a huge tower (PC) next to my television set and don't want to hunch up to a keyboard and mouse to login to stuff and start up Steam Big Picture so I can use a controller. I work daily in an IT job and that has changed my view on some things. If you are in one position for most of the day, the last thing you want is to stay in that position for the rest of the day. You can use a controller with a PC, but I've yet to find a PC that start up with a single press of a controller and I don't have to use my mouse and keyboard at all and I can just start up a game. I don't know a single computer that has Quick Resume so I don't have to wait for the game to boot up, then open up a save file or press continue and wait some more. There are just some quality of life things that you don't get on a PC and again: I say that as a primary PC player who's played on mainly PC for his whole life. Consoles still have their own merits. Sometimes you don't want all those background apps bombarding you with messages from friends and stuff like that. You just want to play and not bother with multitasking. You want to "disconnect" from stuff and relax. I am aware that you can setup Discord to not start with Windows, you can go Offline in Steam etc. but that's just a hassle in my eyes. My current setup goes like this: I jump on my couch, I press a single button on my controller, it starts up my television and soundbar + subwoofer, changes automatically to the right TV channel (HDMI) and I'm ready to go. Then I select the game from the menu and because of Quick Resume, I'm back where I was in less than 10 seconds... I also absolutely LOVE older games and Xbox is currently dominating in that regard. Their backwards compatibility program gives increased FPS and resolutions in games for older titles like Fallout 3 (whereas Fallout 3 can't be bought on PS5 I believe and even if it would be possible, you wouldn't get better FPS and resolution and stuff like that since they don't put in the extra work). Jim Ryan once said that "who plays older games" and that was enough for me since I play them a whole lot. It matters a bunch how much a company tries to preserve and enhance older titles. On PC that's done so well so it's great to see Microsoft is replicating it on Xbox as well.
AA batteries are a con to some people but to me, I actually prefer them over internal batteries. Internal batteries degrade in a few years (this happens with smartphones all the time that they hardly hold up 50% of what they used to after a few years of use). I've got rechargeable double As and a charger for them and it takes me like 10-20 seconds to put in a fresh pair which last around ~30 hours instead of something like ~4 hours. Some may not think that's a big deal but I really do want that and Xbox still seems to offer that. Symmetrical thumb sticks also cramp up my thumbs. I also get thumb cramps by using a smartphone a lot so I want off-set sticks (the Xbox controller and the Switch Pro Controller offer this) since they don't cramp my fingesr as much. I've got big hands with long fingers :/
The PS5 and Nintendo Switch are great systems as well. I'm just trying to give some thoughts as to why someone would go with Xbox since that was the reasoning behind my purchases. I also greatly prefer shooter and strategy games and I'm not a huge fan of "over the shoulder camera adventure games" of which Sony has plenty. Just not my type of games... I know they may seem immersive but I'd rather watch movies and series at that point. So the exclusives wasn't an issue for me at all. I'm happily playing stuff like Age of Empires 2 and 4 and love games like Doom.
