I think the biggest improvement you could make to your roads, is trying to 'follow' the terrain even more closely. In real life, construction is focused on creating the smoothest grades possible, and it's often easier to reach this goal by "snaking" a road around a landscape feature, making the accent/decent as gradual as possible, instead of terraforming the land. Hope that makes sense!
"OH THE U TURNITY!!" This could be the name of that high area that had the bus line u turn problem where the buses were doing the same mistake over and over again! As a reference to "OH THE HUMANITY!!" XD
Connecting a highway to a local road needs a bit more practice ;) Level first, then build the road :) If you build better streets, you don't need traffic++. You can for instance, use a roand-a-bout between the highway and local roads. Have a look at the workshop for intersections that connectthe highway with local roads. Always try to use T-crossings, try to avoid a four point crossing. Try to seperate passenger rail and cargo rail. The new residential area would be a good place to plop down a sunken railway station (workshop, make sure the ground is level). This sunken railway station can also be used for a 'tramline' BTW.
+Owen Taylor I don't ever directly connect a highway to a local road, but i assume +Flabaliki has choosen this way or does not have enough funds to connect it the 'proper' way. ;)
James, even the tiniest companies and markets need mangers etc. which are highly educated people. It's alright with a small town, but your city has expanded way too much for the people to be this uneducated. There is also little resident demand, because people don't want to move into the city due to the appalling education situation
you need to seperate internal and external train lines. both for cargo and passenger. You will get a buttload of almost empty tourist/cargo trains if the current network keeps growing.
I'd like to see more use of the new leisure parks and things! Designing with canals and such can make the districts look very pretty/interesting and also distinct from one another!
You keep building low density residential, and are still not having enough workers... maybe get more high density? More people per square= more workers! Also, In the entertainment district, you have trees going through the tracks, and at that road by the river you added at like 13:00.
flabs you should download the the city vitals mod so you can see them all at once when your playing so it can help you keep track of the water usage and power
You might consider making residential much closer to the commercial and industrial. The fact they are so far away might be way it is hard to get and keep workers.
Introduce area specific bus routes like how you did with the subways in your previous city. That'll help in reducing traffic and it'll also be realistic.
It would be cool if you made like a timelapse of all the small things you are doing between episodes, so we could still see it and know what you did :) You could have it in the start of every episode or something
You should make a new east-west train line. Also, the roads you layed down at the end of the video in the leisure district were all 4 lane roads, I think you meant to make the side streets 2 lane roads :)
You should make the island at the bottom of the dam and the plateau where the train line heads up to a national park. Or just the island at least. By this, I mean have like 1 main road going through it, but have dirt roads winding through a lush forest. Sort of similar to Granite Falls in The Sims 4 Outdoor Retreat. I think it would be a great break in the city and the geography of the area constitutes a national park well.
Can you do more high density residential? Space it properly and it could work, so you don't have to make an entire district or section only low or only high, but a mix of the two. Gives the city some flavor.
When u can if u want u should build an underground highway so you have more space also building under ground means you can go under a major town and have connections to the surface.
I think you should do a hunger games themed city where you make the 13 districts and the capital basing them on their specialties. Also trying to match the education, health care and crime rates of each district
You pile healthcare so close together! My closest clinic irl is like 15 minutes away. In the game, the distance between them is fine and not a long way at all.
Would you be able to name your new town as Flabhi (Delhi), or other names such as Flabronto (Toronto), Flabney (Sydney), Flaba Lumpur (Kuala Lumpur), Flabarta (Jakarta), Flabha (Doha), Flab Town (Cape Town), Flabhoek (Windhoek), Flabsinki (Helsinki), Flabland (Auckland), Likieoul (Seoul) and so on.
When you make the universty you should make the campus in the shape of your Sim Supply logo. Aslo when you do the Universty you sould put it up by the Dam so you can call it DAMN U!
Keeping the roads either straight/geometric OR curvy/abstract usually looks good. Like having several straight roads and then one slightly off kilter is probably what doesn't speak to you. That said, I love your cities, mine never end up being as well managed as yours. I stop caring after a while though. PS name the sewage lake Poo Lake.
If instead of making a ring road and filling it in you make a focal point and work outwards, I used to make unrealistic roads aswell but this helped me a lot:):):)
So I was the one who commented about the uni in Dean and the American assets, as well as more decorative assets so you can fully decorate small areas and really make them come alive. I know you said you have been meaning to dive into assets but just haven't yet. Just curious if there's a reason you are avoiding loads custom assets (like if it messes with the game or anything) or if you've really just forgotten
That first highway come off ( my english is terrible. I'm from the netherlands. My english is not as bad as the english from louis van gaal (man united coach) but i don't know the word for it) after this story this is what i want to say That hill in the highway was just amazing
I still think it would be awesome if you made a district where the roads formed some sort of shape or pattern. For example circles or a teddy bear or a car or an elephant or WHATEVER really. That way you can practice your road building skills as well. 😉
I love how the pedestrians in this game are literally spending entire DAYS waiting for the bus
Wooooooooooow
Just wooooooooooooow
Vladimir Putin omg lol
You should build a pedestrian pathway across the rivers to connect the three islands.
This series is one huge lesson on how amazing Move It! mod truely is.

Build some offices!!!
+Nickus Venter he has no educated citizens
he should educate some but then the farm would fail
He does have some education.
You should call Washington District - "Pleisure District"
Pleasure - Pleisure? Get it?
Yeah I suck.
P.S. ...you sang Monsters Inc. I love you.
Or Flabington DC
+Joshua Stein What? No! Stop just putting Flab infront of every place name you can think of!
+Joshua Stein Genius
+UssagieeTheUnicorn same
Flabs, why aren't you using the marinas and the other water based parks
When you added the crosswalk between the two walking paths in the entertainment district, trees started growing through the train line again.
That monsters inc reference thou 😂 " put that thing back where it came from or so help me"
I like the time lapses... Can we see more of those? Building highways and train lines?
"OH THE U TURNITY!!"
This could be the name of that high area that had the bus line u turn problem where the buses were doing the same mistake over and over again! As a reference to "OH THE HUMANITY!!" XD

+Chris Ufkes Where i live i do not ever see An interstate connecting to a local Road. There is WAY to much traffic.
+Owen Taylor I don't ever directly connect a highway to a local road, but i assume +Flabaliki has choosen this way or does not have enough funds to connect it the 'proper' way. ;)
He hade like 1,000,000 ad thats enough to make a interchange
+Chris Ufkes He plays as Aussie style : A1 = M1 XDD
+Ulysses Lee Naturally 😂
Love when Flabs is raging
I can't get enough of your Cities Skylines videos!!!!
Try building one town super neat with straight roads and only a few curves
I was waiting this for a few days already! thanks for uploading !!!!
James, even the tiniest companies and markets need mangers etc. which are highly educated people. It's alright with a small town, but your city has expanded way too much for the people to be this uneducated. There is also little resident demand, because people don't want to move into the city due to the appalling education situation
In the last video, I commented that the next entertainment district should be Flabulous.... so bye bye Washington
Make a European district with lots of Commercial on the main roads, and use French Designed monuments like the Eiffel Tower, ache triumph, ect.
Hey Flabs, if you want your road systems to look more realistic, look up the Road Heirarchy
What is that mate?
put the statue of liberty by flabhatten
flabs please give banished another shot
+1
+Tony Pajamas Haven't actually played that in like a year... has anything changed? Does the developer even still update it?
Maybe with the colonial charter mod!
You should add some water attractions in Flab Vegas on the bank.
you need to seperate internal and external train lines. both for cargo and passenger. You will get a buttload of almost empty tourist/cargo trains if the current network keeps growing.
hey flabs can you make a district with skyscrapers and high rises
imagine if that dam collapsed.. CARNAGE
I think that would a great end to the season. To unleash all the dams.
yeahhhh
+Sam Barton that is a great idea
8:50 He's unlocked the Da Vinci *Road* Huehuehue
I'd like to see more use of the new leisure parks and things! Designing with canals and such can make the districts look very pretty/interesting and also distinct from one another!
you can use: Traffic Manager: President Edition instead off: Traffic ++ :)
You should make a pedestrian bridge over the river ...
If your are planning an airport, it can be on the island or somewhere on a plateau.
You keep building low density residential, and are still not having enough workers... maybe get more high density? More people per square= more workers! Also, In the entertainment district, you have trees going through the tracks, and at that road by the river you added at like 13:00.
Totally do the tram thing!!! It would be really cool to see it go through the entertainment area!
Oh, you should also download the concrete brush assets and some rock prop assets too. They really help to add a level of detail in cities.
flabs you should download the the city vitals mod so you can see them all at once when your playing so it can help you keep track of the water usage and power
You might consider making residential much closer to the commercial and industrial. The fact they are so far away might be way it is hard to get and keep workers.
I agree with you Flabs that I would love a mod to build both highway direction at the same time.
it's good that you build your industrial areas with straight roads. it is awful driving on super curvy roads in trucks lol
Love this city! Can you build high density on the foot of mountain along the river next to flabhatten? Also flabhatten 2 on the other island?
Call the entire city for "Flabington DC" instead of Jamestown
Pathways is the most satisfying thing ever.
Introduce area specific bus routes like how you did with the subways in your previous city. That'll help in reducing traffic and it'll also be realistic.
Really love this series
It would be cool if you made like a timelapse of all the small things you are doing between episodes, so we could still see it and know what you did :) You could have it in the start of every episode or something
I think you should use some more after dark stuff like the building you can put on the water and taxis
for a new update they should do seasons like when it rains or snows traffic will go slower. and there could be blizzards and floods from to much rain
I was just thinking that!!! It'll probably be another $15 dlc though or they'll just make it cities:skylines:2 lol
You sorta predicted the future.
You should make a new east-west train line. Also, the roads you layed down at the end of the video in the leisure district were all 4 lane roads, I think you meant to make the side streets 2 lane roads :)

I think it would be a great break in the city and the geography of the area constitutes a national park well.
you should definitely start either building the city or doing the forest area
You should do another high density island and fill out the other one a bit more!
Call Washington District "Thanks Obama" :D
Can you do more high density residential? Space it properly and it could work, so you don't have to make an entire district or section only low or only high, but a mix of the two. Gives the city some flavor.
When u can if u want u should build an underground highway so you have more space also building under ground means you can go under a major town and have connections to the surface.
I think you should do a hunger games themed city where you make the 13 districts and the capital basing them on their specialties. Also trying to match the education, health care and crime rates of each district
I'm not sure if you have but you need to change the farming district into an Old Town so only cars for that area can go through
You pile healthcare so close together! My closest clinic irl is like 15 minutes away. In the game, the distance between them is fine and not a long way at all.
You should build a tunnel connecting your farming district to your oil district under the oasis district. [=
Hell yeah a new Cities video.
You should connect the two entertainment districts through Valley Park and Flabhattan with trams if possible, would look pretty cool I think :)
PLAY PRISON ARCHITECT AGAIN😂😂. Cheers from a fellow Aussie.
That symbol doesnt mean not enough workers, it means not enough places to export goods. It means you need to zone more commercial, not residential
You should but Statue of Liberty in corner of Beechwood Hils and Flab Vegas! That would look cool...
When you make the universty you should make the campus in the shape of your Sim Supply logo.
Aslo when you do the Universty you sould put it up by the Dam so you can call it DAMN U!

That said, I love your cities, mine never end up being as well managed as yours. I stop caring after a while though.
PS name the sewage lake Poo Lake.
How do you change the road type to elevated, ground, and normal construction? What mod and what button is it?
love your frustration at the buses haha
If instead of making a ring road and filling it in you make a focal point and work outwards, I used to make unrealistic roads aswell but this helped me a lot:):):)
hey you should add a turn around stop like real buses do so that will stop them from getting on the highway
you should put the statue of liberty in the water on an island outside of flabhattan!
its not just a game, its a game theory. thanks for watching
Call a dístrict for "Wolf of Flabstreet"
every time the video starts i jump a little because of the laud "Hi guys" :D
please move the new crematorium over to the other side of that road to be next to the fountain of life and death
James, check out some road maps lol
So I was the one who commented about the uni in Dean and the American assets, as well as more decorative assets so you can fully decorate small areas and really make them come alive. Just curious if there's a reason you are avoiding loads custom assets (like if it messes with the game or anything) or if you've really just forgotten
Dean University can be built on the cliff behind it
when will you add an airport or anything australian related
finally uploaded....
You could make a university town on the island by Summit Park
That first highway come off ( my english is terrible. I'm from the netherlands. My english is not as bad as the english from louis van gaal (man united coach) but i don't know the word for it) after this story this is what i want to say
That hill in the highway was just amazing
Call that Summit park place, weirdroad park!
My god Adblock is a lifesaver!
been waiting for this!!
I like how the highway looks
Love the video keep up the good work
“Cartoon Network” I laughed so hardly.xD
What's the color scheme you're using? Really love this series BTW.
the district off the new highway looks like a coffee mug. Call it Coffee Mug
I still think it would be awesome if you made a district where the roads formed some sort of shape or pattern. For example circles or a teddy bear or a car or an elephant or WHATEVER really. That way you can practice your road building skills as well. 😉
I think you should build a road next to the train line up the hill...?
I like the organic feeling of ur roads..
You should name a district national republic of flabs
Could you do some first person? Also, could you name one of your districts Flabbington or Flabia?
large propeller array LPA ;-)
also you seem to keep forgetting parking lots...like for the med center or maybe that method is part of your madness?
where the train went was where a road was meant to be to get to the dam
That bus route may be quicker though because highways are much faster than residential roads
Flabs, when are the high rises coming? I want to see some big city development!
I am wondering how many assets, how many mods do people use .
I think I have a bit too much with over 100 in both 😁
Make a time laps of how you fix roads
