Captain Magni incorrect. This game was meant to appeal to both japanese and western audiences. Mechs and anime esque characters were to appeal to eastern gamers and the gunplay to appeal to the west
The second game is a freaking gem and a half in multiplayer. Give it a shot, there's a discord and everything. The first game also has a great single player campaign
I feel like the 2nd one was a better game, you have multiple squad mates and have multiple missions with different settings. main charactors, and a awesome ending, that with the cool new added game modes made it feel fresh and unique
I remember when my dad bought this game after seeing the trailer and brought it home to play it and I watched him play first and then he let me and my brother play on our own profiles. We thought this was one of the coolest games ever.

I remember playing the demo, thinking "wow, it looks just like the movies, especially like Starship Troopers". There is still something different about this particular game's graphics, even in comparison with other games on the same engine. I feel like making the game more cinematic was the original intent of the developers.
I found this game to be pretty damn fun. I am not the biggest fan of the year 2007 for gaming but this game was pretty damn good. The mechs feel pretty fun to use in general and I love using the shotgun attachment on them. I did wish the grappling hook was better handled though. As boring as the game's story is, I do like Luka's design. Not really sure why.
i played the multiplayer a ton on this game, the dodge rolling invincibility was kinda annoying in the beginning but as soon as you kinda learn how to use it too the gun fights are crazy fun
Lost Planet is a pretty solid shooter, but compared to other capcom games it feels lacking in content. It definitely delivers on the gameplay side of things though. However the series doesn't really get really great until Lost Planet 2 and Ex Troopers( a spin off of the series), which are fucking great shooters. They take what was established in the first game, refine, and add more unique weapons, VS, Bosses, levels, abilities, etc to really make them shine. Lost Planet 3 was alright for a western attempt at the series but it loses a lot of the bat shit insanity and feels more safe than prior entries, still it's not a bad entry and worth playing if you give a shit about story and setting of the series, Which I do. Also You can actually dodge roll in the game, you do it by crouching and hitting the jump action in whatever direction you choose.

The gameplay is still awesome, the visuals and enemy design are both surprisingly still great. This game still looks and plays great. To me, this game is a huge footprint in my high school years. It was great fun. I wish this had come out today. I wish there were still active servers and new modes.

Though I totally understand why you didn't cover multiplayer, don't know if the servers are even up, I have to say the combo of weapon variety (at least in Colonies edition), grappling veriticality, and large maps made for some ridiculously fun skirmishes.
This was one of the first few games i bought for the 360, and I was immediately disappointed by the ticking time limit rushing you forward to find thermal goo to replenish it. It's very manageable, but any game that does that is an immediate put off for me personally.
Don't think I've touched this game since completing it on my 360 about six years ago. After watching this review, I think I might just keep an eye out for it next time there's a big Steam sale.
Im sorry did you say no evasive rolls? Did you actually play the game? Left stick plus A if memory serves it about as integral to the combat sytem as the roll in dark souls is with I frames and all you might wanna try looking into the game a little more as thats not the only thing you missed.
Great review. But the way you have said some aspects make it seem like you played on easy. I also think you missed the massive difficult levels. Normal is still quite hard. Let alone Extreme, which is unlocked by completing the game on hard. Edit, you also forgot the brilliant multiplayer, on the colonies edition there is usually a game or two constantly. Usually from America but even in Australia it is a perfect connection, yes a few unavoidable lag spikes but they are barely noticable. Most people play it for the multiplayer, no matter how good the campaign is.
LP series is on sale on Xbox. 3.99 each. I loved LP1 like this and comment if you wanna play multiplayer online. Let's see if we can get a lobby going. 👍🏻👍🏻🎮
Its the final Boss level that drags this title down and very frustrating as you"re always at a disadvantage and if that was"nt bad enough one of your 3 attacks have NO effect which leaves you with one ranged and one "melee" type attack which leaves you extremely vulnerable to massive damage,which leaves you basically with one attack only and its tediously boring!
Cool gameplay,cool bosses but the enemy "Nevec" soldiers have terrible "AI" and this is a minor complaint but some of the English monougue is bad and obviously directly translated from japanese; remarks like "This is my end" and "Damnit Forever" and there are silly remarks like "He"s just one man" and "Intruder takes priority"lol and the last Bosssfight around the orbiral Elevator is Crap
Damn they killed the art style I'm now glad I did not see this till now I liked the first 2 games for the story and second one for the Mechs but this looks like they butchered this game thanks for the Review after seeing this I don't want to get it now

Lost planet the original was probably my favorite online game ever best battles ever on there. It was just such an underestimating game 10/10
