It’s obvious user name dad is very proud of you and it’s nice to see you riding together, I go out with my son every chance we get, we’ve been round France twice, and Wales, I ride a gtr1400 and he rides a rocket 3, I still do worry about him and he’s 52 year old, thanks for the ride and thank user name dad.

Father daughter relationships are very special, look forward to the user dad / daughter tour. My first time at haliwell jones chester couple of weeks ago, fantastic service centre and couldnt be more helpful. They share with the car centre and said looking to move to their own bike unit sometime soon. Good service is key to bike buying decisions.
As a 69 year old rider I was pleased to see you out with your dad again. I had to laugh when that driver got a little too close to him and he commented much as I would have. Thank you for posting this, and wishing you great times ahead ! ✌

I always try and encourage my sisters to leave the pajamas and lazy jaunts and go out on a ride after generating an accreditation in biking.
4 years later, nothing happened.

I’ve always found Halliwell Jones to be great. They contacted me and asked me to take my BMW into their Preston branch for an end of warranty check just prior to its second birthday. They found what they described as a slightly sticky gear change and replaced the gear selector FOC. I hadn’t really noticed the gear change issue but it definitely felt a bit slicker afterwards - almost
like a Honda - so well done them.

I was at the same dealership a couple of weeks back, looking at the R1250 RT. The guys (Dave & Dave) were kind enough to let me take one for a run. Must admit, I didn't get along with it, but it's more me than it was the bike.
Still considering the K1600 though.

Was the cam chain tensioner a special request because I wasn't offered it on my 21plate. I ended up with new shaft and new rear drive on a 18 month old bike 😮. Nice relationship with you and your dad precious.
Yeah dad requested it. I believe it's a 70 odd quid modification. The noise has never really bothered me 😊

So special that Kate to ride with your dad! I had my bike serviced there and they found my bike failed the cardan shaft test so they replaced it no problem and fitted the new modification for the water ingress and also updated the software. The technician even came out and explained his work. They gave me a courtesy bike an 850 adventure which was brand new and a great bike. The staff there are very helpful and overall I am impressed with the service they gave with both customer and bike.
That's lovely to hear Tom! They're definitely trying to establish a great rep as a new company so it's nice to hear things like that!

Do make time to do a road trip together. Life is so precious. Days turn to weeks months years etc. Only in my 50s but I am grateful for every day & cherish decent family time.

Ahhh, you guys rode past the test centre where I passed my bike test =) - Chester
I bought a new R1200 GSA TE Triple Black in 2018. It had the TFT dash. It was the last of the R1200's before the 1250. Not enough difference to justify the 8 or 9 grand I would have had to pay to upgrade. Had it for 4 years touring a good amount on the continent and it was brilliant. Currently ride a new Tiger 1200 Rally explorer, Easily as good as the current R1250 GSA.
Yeah the 18 plate with the tft but 1200 would be the sweet spot for me!
The 1200 series was great, but I think BMW really nailed it with the engine and comfort upgrades (better heated grips and heated seats) on the 1250. I put 11,000 miles on mine in its first year, and it’s not my only bike. I have a habit of wandering around in obscure environs, such as Death Valley, so I also appreciate the extra range of the GS Adventure. If the rumors are true about major changes in store for the GS, I hope BMW UK has the foresight to loan you a pre-production unit for long term testing.

Engine light comes on with new bikes if it’s not been ridden in a few weeks. Normally need let it run up to temp and cool down a few times and it resets 👍

Great Video, really enjoyed this.. although i agree BMW have the best TFT's its annoying they dont give you android auto or Apple car play because they want you to buy Sat Nav's
Never thought of that as I dont use Android Auto but it would be a nice touch if it could use them certainly!

I had my drive shaft changed on my 64 plate gsa with around the same kind of mileage as yours.
@Bluey1450 I think I right in saying they put in the drain hole, then the computer tests the integrity of the drive shaft. if it fails the test then the driveshaft is replaced.
@@paullee6663 Yes, they do a carbon shaft test - if it reveals water ingress - they replace the swingarm. If it passes, they retro fit the beak valve as a premeditative move :)
@@UsernameKate I don''t think they replace the swingarm, just the driveshaft itself.(which is inside the swingarm, at least that's what they do in the USA)

Hi Kate, how did you find your dad's handlebar risers? They looked closer to the rider than the standard setup, are they better for slow move ability?
To be honest - I can give or take them but Dad feels they improve the riding position for him :)
