I love these videos. They have helped me so much! I know the gels you have now are hard gels. Would you ever consider making a soft gel product so it can be soaked off?
This channel is excellent for beginners and pros 👏 👌 👍 💕 I just found I was making "some" mistakes with the tips application 😅 , the fist one was no using Youngnails glue!!!💕 love you guys
You guys and your staff are great. I’ve learned so much from watching the videos and most importantly you make watching them fun. Your teaching and clear verbiage makes it easy to understand luv you all your the best. P.S. I luv your products
So glad I came across this. I was just about to search a video on this because I struggle with perfectly fitting them because sometimes it bends down or up
Such an easy to follow video just like the others. That's why I come back. I'm actually trying out the YN brush on glue for the first time. On a safety note, nail lamps put out uv light which is not good for skin. It's been recommended to apply sunscreen to the hands to protect yourself. But you'd want to make sure you wipe it off of your nails though that way it wouldn't interfere with product adhesion.
This has been disproven by Doug shoon leading scientist in the nail industry. You get more uv exposure from one day driving in your car than one year of uv light usage.
Thanks guys great video. The only thing I would have liked to see mentioned is placement of the tip insofar as how far down the nail you want to be playing the tip when adhering. Seeing so many people gluing tips half way down the nail plate or more 😕
Yes I have gone through the entire list. But plz don't ever stop making them for young ameture nail techs like myslf. Thankyou for all the work n effort u guys put in. Much appreciated 🙏
Love this channel. For a beginner, I learn so much from your videos. I do have a question though. My nailbeds and fingertips keep getting irritated whenever I change my nails. I typically do a new set every few days to once a week. Am I just not allowing enough time for healing?

Almost Every question I ever had about doing my nails was answered in one. Video. I'm trying to start doing polygel and I feel much more confident now. The only question I have is: will putting primer/protein bond on nails first make the glue hold better? Thank you so much!!
I was actually hoping you could address the problems with tips that occur when the nails point upward. Sometimes it's fine for a square nail but for stiletto or almond when you need the tip to angle down sightly, it's difficult to achieve. What are your tips and tricks for those situations? A video would be much appreciated. Thanks Greg 😁
Super helpful thank you. I noticed your tips are quite talon like and thin is that just so that you can have a better angle to build on? Like when I put them up to my nail they point down quite a bit but maybe that’s just so that you can use the builder gels to get a better apex?
Our tips are designed to be very thin so you can build the structure with your acrylic or hard gel since these products are stronger than just the plastic tips. As for the curve, if your natural nail has a more dramatic curve, the tip is going to follow that curve and it will look even more curved. If the natural nail has that extreme curve, it may be better to sculpt the extension so you can form it straight out from the natural nail instead of curving with the tip.
I have the large tray from you guys. Even the largest one in the pack is too small for my thumbs (i have to press it down as you showed). I don't see a larger one on the website. Do you not sell one?
Unfortunately tips are a "one size fits most" type of service. Not every style of tip will fit every nail. For larger thumbs, you may be able to press the curve onto your table to flatten it out and make it wider, but if that doesn't work, you may need to sculpt an enhancement onto the wider thumbs.
you don't want to use a strong cleanser to brush everything off because you don't want to make the tip shiny again. You want to try to keep it as etch as you possibly can.
Greg you never put link on your video when you used the (Clear Nail no glue video) Not sure if name was Noel? Or. Naio nails, can you please let me know the correct spelling and where can I purchase them.? Also can I use Builder Gel Pink when adding this Extension. Much appreciated!
All products used in our videos are our products, Young Nails. If you link which video you are referring to we can tell you which of our products we are using.
Do y’all have any advice for me when it comes to having a flat nail bed and using tips? One of my thumbs has a flat nail bed. You’re so correct. Small tip will then pop and cause air pocket. Should I use a big mail tip that hangs over the edge anyways and file it to customize it? I stopped using nail tips though because of this. Just doesn’t go well with my thumb but I quite enjoy sculpting.
I bet they would encourage continued use of forms. Especially if you're enjoying it😊 Many people find them difficult or frustrating. So once in a while, YN will give advice on using tips, for those folks. But mostly, they discourage using them.
idk why but for me none of the tips ive tried with two brands work, they just don't fit and are too curved for my natural nails so even the biggest size has to be forced down I guess it's because my nails are really flat and don't have the curve so the nail tip can attach :/
Hello, U didn't add the base coat before applying gel, is that ok? There is no issue? Because I've done that before without base coat and I noticed it is stuck perfectly and for longer time ,so is that ok to don't use it at all? I hope u answer my question 💙
There isn't a standard size since the trainer hand nail tips vary. You would size the tips and see which ones fit according to how we describe sizing tips in the video.
I have a question about how close the gel is too the cuticle. I see a little gap, my instinct would be to fill it. Would that make it look bad/ be too much? I’m very confused on how close exactly we should be getting to the cuticle
There isn't a specific measurement to follow, but a rule of thumb is to get as close as you can without touching the cuticle. Keep in mind that if you still see a slight gap after filing and you feel like it's not close enough, you are still going to top coat the nail and you can bring your top coat closer to fill the space and seal the product to the nail.
The first coat is just the synergy gel (hard gel) base. You do not want to build a nail with base. You don't have to switch to one of our concealer colors if you prefer clear. We have clear sculptor, build, build pink or flex synergy gel that are all clear and can be used to build the nail.
If you have a broken nail and want to apply acrylic, we don't recommend applying a wrap first. The acrylic will be strong enough to hold the crack together.
Ok .. So lets say im going to apply a dark acrylic so a base of clear acrylic has to be applied first so it wont stain the nail... Instead of using clear acrylic can clear building gel be applied in stead of the clear aclylic and then add the dark one?
Unfortunately, tips aren't always a one size fits all. If you can't find a tip that fits, that's where sculpting with a form would come in. We prefer using forms over tips for all nails because then you can customize the extension to fit each nail.
This is the most helpful channel for beginners like myself everything is always easy to understand and quick to the point, thank you so much 😊

You guys should do a video with a client who has “challenging” nails that are wide and are uneven lol this clients nail is perfect lol
Agreed. I have rather wide as well as some slim nails. I want to see nails similar.
This was Tracey's nail. LOL. You have perfect nails!

Thank you so much for this video!
Thank you as always. Question: so it is better to file the tip for the gel applications only or also for acrylic application too??
it wouldn't mess the nail up if you did when applying acrylic but you don't have to. With gel or hard gel you have to prep the surface of the tip.
That just showed me a lot and I even see where I made a few mistakes as well
Thanks for the video. 💅💅💅💅💅💅💅
Hello Greg I was wondering if you could do a video that gives us tips on how to put on the nail tips straight. Thanks in advance!
When applying tips, line them up so they are straight with the finger, not the nail. This will assure they are straight when adhered.
I LOVE the YN glue, its my favorite but every single one ive bought has gotten glued shut 😭 How do yall keep yours fresh? :(
on my course i was told that putting a few drops of cuticle oil on the screw part of the bottle should stop it from glueing shut x
@@laurenx1624 Oh! Thats smart!! Thank you😊
Apparently the pros keep it in sealed containers in the fridge. Trying that with my latest bottle today.
I dapped a little of cuticle oil to keep the tip area from crust up and clogging the hole to keep the glue drying out.
Have you tried sitting it up in a old cup that you don't use anymore or the little cardboard from an empty roll of tissue.
Perfect video

Can you repeat the first layer instead if switching colors?
The first coat is just the synergy gel (hard gel) base. You do not want to build a nail with base. You don't have to switch to one of our concealer colors if you prefer clear. We have clear sculptor, build, build pink or flex synergy gel that are all clear and can be used to build the nail.
What about putting a Fake nail on a breaking nail is that the same rules for it? After I put a wrap on the nail

What can you do when the thumb nail is a bit wider than the tip, like in my case? I really don't know what how to sort it out. Thanks!
Unfortunately, tips aren't always a one size fits all. If you can't find a tip that fits, that's where sculpting with a form would come in. We prefer using forms over tips for all nails because then you can customize the extension to fit each nail.
