Maybe because Portugal attacked us first, they attacked a fishing vessel and killed one of our civilian. So technically what India did was a retaliation not an attack.

@@HARSHKUMAR-mi4bx United Nation is independent body . How they can take decision on NATO. Which is form by US and other countries
@@KingFisherN24 many possibilities that during this period the Americans were busy with Indochina modern day Vietnam and as you know that only America is the strongest among all NATO members, so that's why they decided that this was internal matter of india and Portugal. We have good relation with France and Britain dont want to intervene in India after their departure and one thing more that at that time USSR is a big factor and Americans also didn't support the colonial system. In my opinion this is the only reason .

just an fyi, it was the muslim league which was founded in currently called Aligarh Muslim University whose request for a separate nation called "Pakistan" was accepted post the violent and heinous crimes. and now there are current descendants of those party members who abide by the same thoughts

Being from Goa, Goa was better under Portuguese rule, while the marathi people from Maharashtra would come here to do cheap Job's, and the Indian government started spreading propaganda and paying them and brainwashing them about Goa being Indian territory, then the 45,000 soldiers annexed Goa in 1961 and the marathi people came in and started staying here....
