So i bought a pair at $1000 to cut them in half and see how good the quality of the Shattered Backboards are. Some people don’t understand how important his channel is. Companies can say they have the best shoe in the world, but once you tear it down and cut it open, is when you see the true value of the item. Brands love when we fall into their marketing, and don’t question the quality.

I got a pair of Story et Fall black calf leather jodhpurs and Chelseas. It's definitely the same style but I find it held up better than a pair of SLPs. My SLP wyatts creased so bad after about 2 weeks. I'm not worried about creasing in general since I actually liked the look but the quality definitely came across as an issue.

You should buy some "high quality" chinese knockoff jordans, balenciagas or other hyped sneakers and compare the quality to the real ones, I've bought a bunch of fakes from taobao and I feel like they are nice shoes even if they arent even a tenth of the price of the real ones most of the time.

Crazy to see how high the price of these has gone up over the years, mainly due to the hype of Jordan 1s and people wanting the pairs with “good leather”.

Nevertheless, you are right, you still pay 50% for marketing.

Haven’t gone through the comments but has anyone commented about the “glitter” effect on the black leather? Been trying to figure out if it’s the type of leather Nike used or some sort of polyurethane coating they put on top of the leather? The “glitter” is visible on other black leather Air Jordan 1s created during this era of production.
I’ve seen the same on my banned 1s. I thought I walked through glitter on a night out in them.
Rub leather conditioner and the glitter goes away.
There are videos on how to remove it.. i remember its oxidation or something related like that because of the leather.

If you wanna do another one of these “nicer Jordans” for another subscriber mark, look up the Jodan 1 Vachetta Tan. At the time those came out they were marketed as the most “premium” Jordans you could buy. I believe the retail for them was like $400.
You can tell if vachetta leather is vachetta without cutting it apart... you just look at & feel it and it’s obvious... there’s no way to finish a leather or any other material to make it look like an unfinished veg-tan leather

I don't think it is a big secret that Nike shoes are of poor quality. Even for $160, considering they make them for $1.26, you're not paying for the material/workmanship quality. You're paying for shoes that look cool. Nothing more.
