  • Want to learn how to fish or fly fish the boise river in Boise, Idaho, watch this video to learn everything you need to know about fishing and floating the boise river. Next video I'll be boise river float and exploring the middle fork boise river and south fork boise river fly fishing. I've fly fished the boise river from the boise river diversion dam to the snake river through Star, Idaho.

    That spot around 8 min is goated, I've caught some monster browns and rainbows in that stretch, love it! If you gotta walk it's gonna be good

    I almost always use 4x on the Boise after using 5x once and losing several flies. When nymphing below Eagle and around Star there are suckers that will break off a 5x tippet very quickly - there are some 24" suckers in there.

    • @FireflyFishing

      I love this!!! Definitely agree bro, a 24 inch sucker will trick you into thinking it’s a huge brown😂 hate those things

    • @FireflyFishing

      Great question!!! No I’m using either straight 15 lbs line or heavier. Or leader wise 0x-2x is the lightest I’m going!

    Can u tell a natural fish from a hatchery fish

    • @FireflyFishing
      @FireflyFishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      It can be hard, but I can tell apart the ugly hatchery fish from the wild fish! Most young hatchery fish don’t have an adipose fin, but as they get older they grow them back. Most young hatchery fish have smooshed faces and stuff. Just ugly bugs, however as they grow in the river, they can “look wild” again.
