How to Fish Idaho Rivers

This video is targeted towards someone trying to first get into fishing, or someone trying to really improve their river fishing technique. In this video I share my checklist of what to do when fishing a new river. I give some tips on how to fish a river and catch a few nice ones. I filmed this segment of a series a month ago, but haven't had much time to get out and film lately (semester started). Thanks so much guys for the support!!!

i would use 10 lb braid and a 2-3 ft piece of flourocarbon 6-10 lb.Braid will cast further more feel .Great video i know where your at congtats on not saying exactly where you fished.

Great video and nice fish! Especially with those bigger fish, try not to keep them out of the water if not necessary and give them a minute in the water to recover before releasing them. Otherwise nice work!

I fished the snake river in southern center idaho today and only caught 3 northern pike minnows

I say get a cheaper rod and a nicer reel. In my experience you can do a lot with a cheap rod, as long as the reel is in decent shape. I would also forego a lot of the extra tools. Start with just a rod/reel, handful of lures and a cheap landing net. Then build from there

i’m around the rexburg area looking for new spots to fish since i’ve been fishing the same spot for a month now. what river/dam is this?

Honestly, I just look on google maps and try out new bridges in the area. There are so many trout in the rivers I don't see a point to say what exact spot. Head north a bit and find a river. Tight lines!

I almost never do. I have at times, but usually I feel like it messes up the presentation. If I need something heavier, I'll elect to get a heavier spoon or spinner. For me, 1/4 oz lures work well even in heavy current. Hope this helps!
