One of the main reasons to use pneumatic guns, especially on the rear tires, is due to the proximity to the fuel and any fuel vapor. Pneumatic guns do not have an electric coil that could cause a spark and ignite fuel vapor (very bad). Also a lot of teams will place an orange road cone on the hood (usually by the pit boss) and it will also signal to the driver that the team is “all clear” as soon as the pit boss removes the cone from the hood. It is a very clear visual signal to the driver to go. Working with a pit team is an extreme adrenaline rush in a very short period of time. It really amps up when trucks are close together and getting your truck in/out while still maintaining their track position. It’s hour upon hours of driving, setup and waiting for less than a minute of “do your job”! Viva la Baja!
Awesome dude!! Got me pumped just by hearing all the details, what’s go into the pits. I love it Christopher. Hey send me some merch any, jiji love that sweater. Thanks dude always enjoy the videos.
Pretty cool! I have helped with pits and the team was always volunteers. Are your guys part of a paid team or also volunteers? Always wondered with the big boy race teams.
Thanks Bud!

I pitted for the baja 1000 in 1990 with BFG. It was a great time. I would love to do it again. I encourage anyone to do it if given the opportunity.
You doing King of the Hammers this year? 🤙🏁

First comment!
How does the support team go ahead of the truck because it’s going 100 mph
Roads are faster than you think and the truck isn’t always going 100mph
@ thanks
They probably don't cover as many miles as the race trucks.
slow try baja fools better at what they're doing best out there.
