Fossil fuel Oligarchs aren't ready to give up the money or power yet. Just like the horse drawn carts made way for cars fossil fuels are antiquated technology.

Green house effect was discovered in 1856 and also, two more times before the year 1900. The first published report was in a news paper in 1912, warned that rising co2 levels from the coal industry would warm the planet. In 1956, the first co2 monitoring station was set up and the levels kept rising and rising! the first report was given to Lynden B Johnson and he ignored the warnings. In the 1970s Exxon mobile hired scientist to verify the previous warning, they did there test over a three year time period. They created a report that stated if co2 levels continue to warm, it will be a disaster for earth with rapid increase of flooding, heat waves and droughts. The report was put into a cabinet in the basement and left for decades. So basically, earth is heading into its forth green house gas mass extinction event. The last co2 extinction events were caused by volcanic and one of them, a coal deposit hit by volcanic chambers emission both co2 isotopes.
