    I've got an older Punto, the anti roll bar gave a lot more fight than the one you dealt with here, had to get a ratchet strap on the spring. You make it look so easy!

    gotta get a bigger hammer . good video . at 78 years young I still do my own mechanicing .. albeit a tad on the slow side .I would love to be able to make videos like you can . My latest battery hand tools are Milwaukee. excellent . My air impact guns were not up to any tight jobs.

    Hi, do you have any suggestions or solutions to "check transmission see handbook" error on Punto?

    Is there ment to be any up and down movement on the cup and spindle that goes in to the gearbox on the passenger side?

    Great video! Thank you! I've got 3 simple questions:
    Did you change or add the transmission oil?
    Did you fill the oil to that hole using syringe until oil leaks?
    Did you do it when the car was lifted, right?

    • @GrandePunto8V
      @GrandePunto8V ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1. Change is better than reusing old oil.
      2. Yes...but.
      3. Car should be leveled (on the wheels) while you are pouring the oil.
      This gearbox (c514) takes about 1,5-1,6 L.

    I have vibrations when im starting from first gear or reverse slowly...i have new clutch kit but i noticed movement in area where is drive shaft entering gearbox...is that movement causing those shaking what i mentioned? Somebody told me inside differential is some "runners" and that is worn probably...

    • @GrandePunto8V
      @GrandePunto8V ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, probably the differential is worn out. Pretty common (but it takes many years before it starts shaking the car). Diff. can be replaced without removing the whole gearbox from the car.

    Hi, which nut is the gearbox oil u der the car, and what do I need to use to transfer the oil back in. Cheers

    • @toolboxwars1833
      @toolboxwars1833  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi , thanks for the question. There is a nut halfway up the gearbox at the front to put the oil in. I just used the extendable straw which came with the bottle to transfer the oil. Hope this helps to answer your query.

    the amount of corrosion on that car is aweful. I have retired to southern Portugal and we rarely see frost let alone snow . first thing I made was a nice insulated 8 x 8 metre car port . My 50 plus year old trolley jack still does the business.

    On what spot do you jackup the car?

    • @herbertfoelser3845
      @herbertfoelser3845 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Motor or gear. Both cause damages on the rubber from the silentblocks.

    • @LOREGUINNESS
      @LOREGUINNESS 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@herbertfoelser3845 Hi.
      If both points you are suggesting cause damage why would you suggest them to him?

    • @herbertfoelser3845
      @herbertfoelser3845 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LOREGUINNESS The metal rubber holdings from the gear and the motor are not very strong. The rubber inside those holders will be overlength and get cracked, tensioned and will not do the job as for it was designed, to absorbe engine and gear movings, noise and vibrations while driving the Punto. Then engine / gearblock will get way more play to move and cause additional damages and wear like the exhaust pipe, cables and hoses. Further it will make the drive feeling very worn out.

      Now I got this argumen better. I wrote the question before because I understood from your reply to the guy that those were good points to Jack up the car.
      Anyway, in your opinion why the gearbox of the Punto 188 is indicated on the FIAT manual as a good point to jack up?
      Best.

    Couldn't you just use a syphon kit and suck all the old oil out without the agro of dismantling everything.

    • @GrandePunto8V
      @GrandePunto8V ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He should drain the oil (8 mm hex, in the differential cover), not spilling it all over the place.
      No need for any fancy toys to suck the oil (vacuum pumps etc.).
