2017 - 2018 Toyota Yaris IA How to Oil Change & Reset Oil life.
    Toyota Yaris-iA Generation List:
    2017 - 2018 3rd Gen (XP150)
    Pros
If you want a small, inexpensive, efficient and easy-to-drive compact car that touts advanced safety features, the Yaris checks all the right boxes. Its hatchback design means added practicality and cargo room, while strong records of reliability and resale value further its appeal.
    Cons
The Yaris isn’t exactly a barn-burner, so if you’re looking for a small car with kick, you’d do better in the performance-oriented Ford Fiesta ST or even a turbocharged Chevy Sonic. The Honda Fit, meanwhile, has even more cargo room and greater interior flexibility thanks to its flip-and-fold rear seats.
    What's New?
The 2017 Toyota Yaris gains an impressive upgrade with the Safety Sense C suite of active features aimed to warn of and even prevent an accident. The Yaris hatchback shouldn’t be confused with the Yaris iA, a subcompact sedan formerly known simply as the iA from Toyota’s now-defunct Scion brand.
The 2017 Yaris is Toyota’s least expensive vehicle, a 3- or 5-door hatchback that puts a priority on low-cost ownership and driving manners that are easy and efficient, if not all that enthusiastic. Still fresh off a revamp two years ago, the Toyota Yaris receives a newsworthy update for 2017 with its Safety Sense technology. Standard on all models, this suite of advanced safety features includes pre-collision warning with automatic emergency braking and lane-departure warning. That in itself helps the Yaris stand out against subcompact rivals like the Honda Fit, Hyundai Accent, Ford Fiesta and Nissan Versa, and will assuredly ease the minds of parents of younger drivers. Two years of complimentary maintenance, strong resale value and overall practicality make the Yaris even more compelling.

Thanks for this video. I went to go help my buddy perform an oil change on this vehicle today and I had doubts that I was looking at the drain plug because it had an allen head. I'm not a professional mechanic but I'd never seen that before. This video helped me confirm. Weird. Toyota, but a mazda engine? Kind of strange, like the Suzuki Equator trucks that are basically a Nissan frontier. Thanks again for the upload.

Yeah, yaris 2016 or 2017 Toyota stopped making them, and bought rebranded mazda 2 cars. Its a total scam by toyota. It's ALL mazda engine, parts, and features everywhere. The only Toyota about it are three lousy toyota logos on steering wheel, hood and trunk. Total Scam. BTW, only buy MAZDA parts and fluids for the MAZDA engine and accessories. Make sure you call /use a Mazda dealership not a Toyota dealership. Some of the fluids have different formulas, and toyota tries to sell you toyota-specific fluids.

I love my Yaris iA. It’s a Mazda in a Toyota costume ☺️

It's like a secret identity car! Mazda undercover in a Toyota costume.

Hmmm so while it states 0w-20 oil. Would it be a problem to use 5w-30? Advanced auto seems to recommend both but want to know what the best option is. Also to note I’m close to 200k miles on mine. Not sure if that makes a difference

Your engine used to use 0w20, but now it has 200k miles with worn out parts. The 5w30 is thicker than 0w20. The 5w30 will make your engine perform better. This is not the only option you have. You have another option also which it's using 0w20 and additives like Lucas for high mileage engines. It's a white bottle additive, super thicker fluid that works like a champ for your engine.

I been trying to remove the oil cap to put oil on mine but once I twist it won't pop up you do a trick with that?

Try to push it down and twist off or pull it up and twist off...if it doesn't work, pry it, the cap gonna pop off and then the other part you can do it by hand...it happens on oil caps
