Brilliant. I can see that you're so much lighter and patient with pencils, and the results are impressive. I was hoping to see your shoulder chicken's reaction. The mono eraser is a revelation.
Beautiful drawing, reminded me of my first Cockatiel, Patches. I could call him from anywhere in the house and he would walk to me. I miss him greatly.
This is my answer to how I blend charcoal, it never crossed my mind to use soft tools🤦🏼♀️ Lisa, Do you use any fixative spray to seal your works in charcol????
Have you worked with water soluble graphite before? I found it great for getting large, shine-free swathes of dark values like you did here. Especially since I couldn't figure out how to make powdered graphite look good. Pastel sponge is apparently the secret. Awesome, thanks! :D
Is there some sort of spray/finish, for graphite that reduces, or eliminates shine? because if not, someone really needs to get on that. I love how this one turned out. I used to have a few cockatiels and I really do miss them.
I use a workable fixative with so so results......always on the search for a better way.......some use refined linseed oil mixed with graphite powder applied with a sponge.......there are caveats but the values supposedly are crazy black ⚫️ with little to no shine....I will try it one day when I get.the nerve.😬
WOW!! Amazing work! Do you Trace or draw completely in free hand? I am just curious. I see nothing wrong with either way. I thinking tracing is just another tool to use. I learned a lot from this video.
They are patreon postcards. I talked about the screw up with the printers at the end of last week's video. I recorded them both the same day so these were still sitting there :D
Your work is so incredible! I'm looking online at the recommend supplies, however the generals powder isn't available to buy anymore. I want to find a replacement and was hoping to confirm with you... Should i be looking at a regular artist grade graphite powder, or one that is also labeled as water soluble?
I love your videos... and your art!! Can you provide a link for the paper you use? Fabriano Artistico Extra White Hot Pressed watercolor paper. Thank you...
Is the livestream still available to watch somewhere? I have been watching this video both on Patreon and here and keep hearing mention of the livestream but I can't find a link anywhere. Can the video only be watched while it is streaming live? I'd sure like to see it!
So did you start the bird with a 2H and then go dark, or just kind of mixed them up as you went along? I usually do the entire outline in 2h first then darken when I do the details.
I can try for hours and draw anything right. Doesn't come close to anything I have in mind. I tend to get frustrated and throw it away. Do u have any advice?

Your shoulder chicken is so cute! He looks like he's smiling while he's posing to be painted/drawn! :-)

I love how this one turned out.
I used to have a few cockatiels and I really do miss them.
You could use acrylic matte medium to kill the shine. You can apply it using a brush but I've also seen people applying it using an airbrush.

Amazing! Did you make your own graphite powder?
Love this! You got his personality in there! Also, what's in the boxes?

The cretacolor one works fine. With graphite, you don't have to worry about it being lightfast so no issues there :)
@@Lachrithanks for your guidance, I'm going to get it right now! Excited to try graphite in a new way for me 😊
😍 amazing work! Interesting what kind of paper did you used? Smooth or textured?
