Outstanding work! Wow. I'm glad you mentioned ( 14:23 ) about the eyes in the photo being so different from one another and you evened it out on the drawing so it looked more accurate. I've come across the same thing in photos, and even awkward cloud formations, and thought, if I painted it exactly like that it would look like I drew it wrong!
Thank you Lisa for such fantastic content on not only TH-cam but your Patreon channel and making it affordable to just about everyone including myself :D Off to watch the full length version of this tutorial :D
Very interesting tutorial! Had no idea you could use that paper for colored pencils which is a bonus because I have plenty of it. Very well done. Thank you for sharing. Oh and remember to turn on the camera. ;)
Hi Lisa, Wonderful work! I noticed that your pencil extenders are smooth and don't a have an annoying ridge near the opening for the pencil. What extender are you using (its black, at 22:47)?
Canson Me Teintes really is not a good paper for pastels, it's original intent. But everywhere I look people are saying it's great for color pencils. So I'm glad I accidentally found that option for color pencils even if I'm still struggling to find an affordable high quality pastel paper
have you ever tried the Eco House extra mild citrus thinner on your color pencil? I purchased some this weekend to try in place of OMS. I have a hard time with oms for some reason. it seems to take longer to dry. just wondering what your take is on this. tnanks!
Apologies if this has already been asked...can all coloured pencils be blended with paint thinner? Is Mona Lisa superior or can I use a cheaper one? There are so many great products i just can't get here, and ordering them online means I pay more in shipping than I do for the items !
hi Lisa, great tutorial as always, just a thought, not all of us can afford the products you use, could you do a demonstration using limited supplies, may be only the 12 set of PC pencils, or maybe a cheaper paper? anyway great video, as always thanks!
david peake Canson Mi/Tientes is actually a quite affordable paper and is available on MANY COLORS. It’s usually more affordable At Blick or Jerry’s or Cheap Joe’s, if they sell it. Blick offers a quantity discount on 6+ sheets. Mona Lisa thinner is about $11.99 at Jo-Ann but it goes a LONG WAY as you’re NOT using it for painting. Gamsol is more expensive, but again, it’s not used in great quantity in this application. It’s frustrating not to be able to get the supplies you want, but just build up gradually. The Polychromos and Luminance are available in OPEN STOCK online and in the store At Blick. JerrysArtrarama too.
KarenK hi Lisa I have this paper at home I recently purchased but not sure what you mean by the smooth side? When I open up the cover and look at the paper which is the top paper is that a rougher side then if I flipped it over to the back?
Watch the Russian crime drama, The Method, on Netflix. The main female character puts her long hair up with a pencil, and has pulled it out to use it as a deadly weapon multiple times throughout the series. ;)
Is there anything you can't do? Your work is absolutely breathtaking.
Absolutely breathtaking! I'm awestruck at the realism here
Thank You

What is that brush you are using for blending? Do u think it will work with pablo pencils?
Fun fact: Even if your goal isn't realism reference pictures are extremely important.

YES! i only have the 24 set of polychromos.
amazon has a 12 pencil set of Faber Castell Polychromos for 20.55. There are a few sizes, but you can accomplish alot with just 12 colors :)

Sounds like she should be my hero based on that alone! :P

The pencil is mightier than the sword.
Lol
Wow, Lisa... You're hair is getting so long (for you)!
Great video! I drew an owl yesterday on a tablet case. You can watch video with that drawing on my channel.
