Great tips on realistic graphite pencil drawings! ✏✨ The dos and don’ts you shared are incredibly helpful for anyone looking to improve their technique. I especially appreciated the advice on shading and detail work. Thanks for putting together such a valuable resource for artists at all levels! 👏🖼
I’m so glad your video popped up in my feed 🎉!! I have not done a graphite or colored pencil drawing for a long time and this just sparked my interest again. Thank you for the valuable information 👍🏼.
Hi Gemma, thank you for sharing your art. I am a beginner in graphite drawing and your explanations are very helpful and clear. I love your work, you are a great artist. I am wondering if you use a fixing spray ( excuse my frenchglish,) to preserve your drawing….it is pretty dirty for the hands also… ❤️ From Montréal, Canada
There are many TH-cam videos on how to do it. You can use the search feature at the top of the home page. But it isn't very hard, really. Best of luck in your drawing!
Because in the end if you are going for realism, copying is essentially what you are doing anyways. Not all portraits are the same in their desired outcomes. Why waste time and have a less than perfect result? The difficulty is in the shading anyways. Could an engineer do his job without a calculator? Maybe. But why?
@@armyofplushI think it’s better to practice on real items in front of u cus it’s end up looking worse from a photo imo u can trace photos to make it easier but better to use ur own references
Great information as am a beginner. Thanks❤

Really great video. You made a complex subject much simpler. Thank you so much Gemma.

Amazing!! I haven’t drawn in over 35 years, and I have a beginning drawing class starting this June. Definitely have to get on your patreon.

How get darker with only graphite? I feel that matt pencils are a mix of graphite with another darker pigment

Just trace the image, no need to worry about drawing it ffs
Makes for a stiff ass drawing. What’s the point of being a glorified printer??
Plus it holds you back from moving beyond what the image shows
