Sounds excellent. Re others' questions,"Addy" adirondack ,( also called red spruce), tops always project more and have a tighter punchier tone than the sitka spruce ones.
I want the projection of Adirondack in my upcoming J-45 purchase, but the guitar sounds so different than what we've heard a recorded J-45 to be. It's not bad whatsoever, it's just different. For me, to get that classic J-45 tone, I'll have to stick with a Sitka top. I just hope it's loud enough for my liking because I've played several quiet J-45's.
im in a similar bind. I love the sound of this one compared to the mellowness of the standards. Keep in mind my understanding also is that the notes will become less "tight" over time as the wood ages, leading to a more rounded/fuller possibly even warmer tone as the guitar ages.
The last time I listen you play a j45, I bought a banner 42 reissue and Vos custom just because the person selling had them both.. largest amount spent in one day but hey they are fantastic guitars. You put a capo on fret one and become Kris Kristofferson regardless of your voice 😂. Fantastic guitar
sounds great - almost like a cedar top. I'm guessing the back and sides are mahogany? I can't say I know much about guitars but seems like red spruce is somewhat rare - is that so? Anyhow, very nice playing as usual.
Yep, hog back and sides on this one. I would say Adirondack or Red Spruce is maybe a little more difficult to find then sitka, and is generally considered an upgrade sonically.
Nothing beats a J-45
They sure are great!
That sounds sooooo good !!
All I can say is, "Amen!"
Did this have a bone nut and saddle or tusq? I know the current Standard has a tusq (and the nut is black). But this nut is white.

Really nice! It seems to have a bit more punch than the J-45 Standard is the bracing also Red Spruce?
Thanks and cheers
Yep, bracing is the same!
Sounds great, but whenever I try Gibson’s in a store they just don’t do it for me. IDK if it’s the radius, or the price?
they ain't cheap Monty, thats for sure! They do it for some people, not so much for others. thats the beauty of the wide world of guitars!

I thought just like you. It somewhat sounds like Cedar top. Attractive sound, i thought, in J45.
I really dig the nice, warm tone of the ceadar top.maybe not as loud as sitka
How do they sound compared to a j45 vintage? Are they cleaner or louder or what? Thank you
It is essentially the same guitar, just different specs. Adi top on both.
