    JBL have just released the Quantum 810, an upgrade to the 800. It's very similar although it has a much bigger battery Here's my review th-cam.com/video/Ynw9AgmuyTQ/w-d-xo.html

    Does the 7.1 surround sound work via bluetooth or only via wireless?

    • @goukigod
      @goukigod  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It can be either. It just has to be connected to either a PC using the Quantum engine software or a mac using 3rd party surround software.

    compared to the best headphones you've used in terms of audio quality, what would you rate these out of 10? and what would your recomendations be for an audiophile like me?

    • @goukigod
      @goukigod  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      7/10. Not suitable fo an Audiophile.
      Best wireless headset from a sound quality point of view, without question, is the Audeze Maxwell.

    Nice video! Which do you think is a better option for gaming, Surround JBL, DTS or Stereo?

    • @goukigod
      @goukigod  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It really depends on what you're playing. JBLQuantumSurround is pretty good at producing a wide soundstage so it's great for open-world games and also immersive first-person games such as horror games. It's hard to go past good old DTS for these types of games too. They're just different flavours of the same thing. I personally would always choose surround sound over stereo when gaming but for 2d games like beat-em-ups and platformers it's not really necessary.

    Do you know the range of the wireless dongle? I'm looking for a headset to talk to my discord buddies when walking around the house. I'm currently using a logitech g935 which has a great range all over the house, but that thing breaks every half a year or so and I need a replacement, and since my 4 year extended guarantee will run out in half a year (I already had 3 replacement g935's since buying it), i'm looking for a replacement that does not break so often. (I'm looking into buying the 810 btw)

      About 10 meters with line of sight. The signal will degrade when you introduce walls and/or other wireless signals. Pretty standard for 2.4Ghz.

    I've heard good things about this headset. But are they even comparable to high end brands such as Seenheiser and Audeze?

    • @goukigod
      @goukigod  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In terms of sound quality absolutely not. Those are brands that offer high end headsets designed to appeal to audiophiles. If you're not an audiophile then I don't think spending double what these cost on a Mobius makes much sense. These still sound good and are one of the most flexible headsets in terms of connectivity. For the average punter, they'd be hard pressed hearing the difference between these and something like the Astro A50s or the Arctis Pro

      @@goukigod I mainly going to use it for gaming. The only cons with this JBL headset seems to be the battery life and the fact that you can't charge them while playing. However it's not a dealbreaker if the sound is good enough. Epos H3Pro Hybrid seems like a good headset as well. There's no easy way to find the perfect sound I guess. Well thanks for your response, and keep up the good work

    Any recommendations for headset with surround sound for consoles ?

    • @goukigod
      @goukigod  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It really depends for which console and how much you want to spend. PS5 for example has built in surround sound (3D audio for games that support it) which means you can use this headset or any pair of headphones. Alternatively you need something that can split the audio into separate channels such as the astro A50s or ARCTIS 7P+. The price jump to these headsets is significant though.

    Have you ever had a good headphone setup? It just doesn't seem like you have because of the sound quality section and understanding of surround sound.

    • @SeraphSeph
      @SeraphSeph 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@goukigod Surround sound can be done with programs on your computer so that aspect is only useful for the ps4. Even then most pc games are just going to have the sound setting by default.
      As for sound quality itself, most gaming headsets are garbage, the only one that's decent is hyperx cloud, but that's because they took some cheap 70 dollar entry level audiophile headphones and put a mic on them. If you just buy a schiit magni amp and some decent headphones (actual quality like seinheisser, Fidelio x2hr, anything really) it's going to blow any gaming headset out of the water.

    • @goukigod
      @goukigod  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was referring specifically to the Quantum surround feature which is only available on PC. So yes, you are correct, the lack of surround sound is only a limitation when using them with something else.
      I also agree that gaming headsets when compared to just about any other headphones won’t sound as good. I just assume that people clicking on this video are interested in an all in one solution and aren't audiophiles looking for premium sound quality over everything else. Sure, you could drop $550 on a Schiit Hel and pair of HD560s (like I did) and it would blow these out of the water when it comes to imaging and clarity. The 560s isn’t wireless though and it’s a less tidy solution and you’d still need a mic to come close to the features of something like the Quantum 800s. They’re just different solutions for different people and budgets.
      If money is no object and you want a better-sounding gaming headset then you should check out the Drop sennnheiser pc38x or even something like the Audeze Mobius
