Great review. I believe the JBL Quantum engine's DTS:X and Quantum Surround do carry over on the PS4/PS5 as well as the mic sidetone settings. I have the JBL Quantum 400 and I use the USB Type C connection on my PS4, my PC settings does work on the PS4.
Sadly DTSX and JBL QuantumSURROUND Sound require the PC only Quantum Engine software, which is why they aren't available on anything else. You can use the software to load EQ settings into the headset to use via either the wireless dongle or audio cable though.
@@pattrick6379 I mean you can see and update firmware trough quantum engine app, so you need somehow install that software, then continue, Main thing if something goes wrong is to use only original type c cable included in package to fix firmware issue
It happens to someone else that when I turn it on again, it connects to me normally but it sounds for 2 seconds, for example this video and it disconnects out of nowhere, I have to redo the 5-second ones every time I turn them on. ..? heelp
So the headset works great but when I try to download the QuantumEngine app it won’t let me go to the xml link. Does anyone know what I supposed to do.
Give advice. There are headphones of the 600th series, the usb adapter has broken, and because of this loss, than the possibility of any headphones through a proprietary application (does not see headphones without an adapter), where can I buy a new one or replace it? As for me, this is very their problem, the 600 series ... this adapter ...
Two questions (apologise if they are dumb) 1. How do you update firmware? 2. What are your adjusted settings in the quantum desktop software? Thanks, i subbed!
1. Firmware is done via PC. the software is a little temperamental but fine so long as you're using a new-ish machine. 2. I use a flat setup with the low ends dipped a little further. 3. Cheers!
Anyone have an idea where to get a replacement leather headband? I keep seeing replacement for the ear muffs but headband peels as well so im going through a lot of old video reviews asking if anyone has an idea.
The Astro's have smaller drivers and a shorter frequency range. So on paper, the JBLs should provide more detail but in practice, I prefer how the A40s sound compared to the overly bassy sound of the 800s. That said, the A40s are a 48 ohms headset so to get the most out of them an amp is recommended. If you were comparing the sound without the amp between the two then the JBLs would be my pick. I think it ultimately comes down to features more than anything else though. The JBLs are really flexible and can be used wirelessly with lots of different systems and you don't need an amp to use them when wired.
@@goukigod thank you for the reply, I’ve been doing some more research and now im down to the quantum 600’s and the steelseries arctis pro(the $150 one not the $300 one). Idk how much you know about that headset but if you do know anything, which one would you pick?

I can't say in terms of size. If you can try them on in a store I'd say do that. In terms of features though the Turtle beach are very much a PC headset. You can use them wired with console but you loose a lot of functionality including the ability to use the mic

Bought this headset, 100% worth it, using for PC. The only problem could be with firmware update, its buggy sometimes

I don’t get the point of a gaming headset for Mac 😂
Otherwise, awesome vid, as always
For steam, emulation and other games that run on mac
@@goukigod oh yea… Didn’t know steam was on Mac…
Also Epic game store and Xbox Cloud Gaming. Even Stadia works with mac

Get in contact with JBL. I would think they'd sell replacements.

Hey if my mic stop working from time to time on my jbl 600 quantums what do i do?
Unrelated but will you be giving KOF XV a go?
Maybe. It looks interesting but despite owning a bunch of KOF titles I'm not a huge fan.
Do they work on mac wireless without the usb-bluetooth stick?
Yes, although bluetooth 5.0 is not a low latency signal so you'll still need the dongle for gaming.

So the mic doesn’t work at all with Xbox?
correct
I have had these for around 1 year and never had an issue with the mic for my Xbox ?
Can i use it with audio jack?
Yes
If you had to pick these or the Astro A40 tr’s (without the mixamp), which one would u pick
