The answer is simple: Retcon that STUPID novel and the events of the MMO. Revan defeats the Sith Emperor (albeit as the cost of his own life). HK-47 and the rest of Revan and Meetra's companions go their own way.

The answer is simple:
Retcon that STUPID novel and the events of the MMO. Revan defeats the Sith Emperor (albeit as the cost of his own life). HK-47 and the rest of Revan and Meetra's companions go their own way.
it would be so badass if the black droid K-2SO in rogue one had personality fragments of HK-47 voiced by Kristoffer Tabori and Alan Tudyk K-2SO was struggling to keep HK-47 from trying to take control over his programming untill at some point they realize they cant just destroy HK-47 because he might have important info for the rebellion.

On The Spot Interviews K2SO is the only interesting character in Rogue One and it was the biggest tragedy of Star Wars when he died.
