I'm 26 and my dad introduced me to a similar spreadsheet to tracking my net worth last year. Its kinda cool seeing where my net worth is and having a visual to where everything is. I update mine every 6 months.
Never thought of tracking net worth. I think I’ll add this to my structure. Really appreciate you sharing this info. It’s a huge help for me to have context.
Wooeeee David! At the end of this video, the YT algorithm displayed a video you made 3 years ago. It was a video on Freelancer Retirement. ALL THAT HAIR! Thank you for sharing!
Interesting to watch this today. Yesterday I had a 2 hour meeting with my financial advisor and he was having me do this exact thing, tracking my net worth. All liquid cash, accounts, investments, home equity, vehicles, gear, etc. I think it’s a good practice. Also found out, he did a good job as my investments had an 11% return last year….
wow a lot of plates spinning there , good to know where all the folding green is but would do my head in :) . Does the interview audio get any post work, Ive just been amazed at what AI software can do now for voice Iso and BG noise reduction. I don't worry about any normal level, BG fan / fridge / AC / light fans , noise these days.
@@CrankyCameraman Then I wouldn't be worried about any AC / lighting unit fans etc . I shot a few corporates last year in relatively noisy locations , one being an Amazon warehouse where we had to shoot an interview , and all sorts of mechanical stuff started up , but the edit was totally fine , Resolve seems to have some amazing AI powered Software, as I guess the others do too. Used to be so much worry about back ground AC / fans / cars people talking , what ever , it's totally a thing of the past now , ( within reason) as long as the mics are placed correctly in the first place .
"Please sit on the throne for your interview in our van, if you need to relieve yourself we will provide a privacy curtain" lol I have seen this type of set in trailers with the TV behind the talent etc. This is a good idea and offers flexibility when you need a more controlled environment.
I love the concept of a fixed setup, I first saw this on the campaign trail in 1995. I actually shot a package on it for my local cable channel. I’ll see if I can find it and make a vlog about it. But have not determined if there is enough business to justify the cost and time to build out.
Good stuff, didn’t know Beck had the coding bug! Macro lens and some solder smoke in next episode? (Start negotiating now on royalties if he uses your name on his line of accessories)
Given previous work shared for your news coverage, i just can't understand the reason for using a 25K cinema body for ENG coverage where a 1" CMOS camcorder would provide the same image quality needed. Why not use easier and more to-spec camera gear (to say nothing of the cost savings)?
All of my cameras are paid off, vs buying another application specific camera. Burano was an upgrade from Amira. For my main network client, their staff photographers shoot on ENG camera packages that cost more than Burano. Very happy with the kit I have right now, different bodies for different applications but color matched, FX3, FX9, Burano. Check out some of my other vlogs, I'm also shooting on iphone and a 15 year old EX3.
This is a great idea for motivation but also a little scarey to contemplate looking at tbh. You have a lot of plates spinning David! You seem to have a great understanding of business from my very limited perspective.

Ahh good.... I wish I started tracking sooner in my career, as I would have focused on building assets vs more work.

Haha yep. Boxing and JiuJitsu, had to delete the hair.
4:08 Oktava MK-012! Really nice video. Thanks.
Really cool to hear this type of info.
Thanks. Credit to past colleagues and clients. Happy to pass along.
Never tracked my net worth. Very interesting breakdown. Thanks for sharing!

Awesome insights as always, thanks for sharing!!

Yes, I would say 100% of what I shoot is processed, prerecorded as well as live.

Excellent feedback, thank you.
Happy New Year! Spent my entire morning and half of my afternoon filming the Rose Parade here in Southern California.
Happy New Year!
That Oktava sounds great. At least from my iPhone

The Oktava sounds great, but it really picks up the handling noise. Watching this on a 5.1 setup, it really kicked the subs into high gear.
Yes, I generally switch to a shotgun if the mic is to be handheld on a boom.

Thanks Ben, hope it's helpful for other people.
