Dude!! This deserves more likes bro!! I’m subscribing to your channel… that shoegaze whammy abuse was absolutely everything! Beautiful fender jaguar btw
You NAILED this man. Great stuff honestly! I'm a HUGE Pumpkins fan. I've seen them live over... Damn... 60 times (?)) since I was a teenager in the 90s and I live in the same area that Billy grew up. This is one of the most competent and spot on versions I've ever heard somebody play! It's pretty much verbatim and it was glorious! Keep it up with whomever you play and hone your craft. I['m subscribing right now.
Oh boy what I would give to be able to see one of their shows from the early 90’s aha, thanks for the words it means a lot to read such positive comments! This is one of those songs I’ve wanted to learn since I started playing guitar all those years ago and I finally got around to it
@@bukel93 Well, you did a fantastic job!! This was clearly something as you said, you've always wanted to learn and it shows. You nailed every part of this track. It's one of my favorites from the Pumpkins. Literally in my top 3. It's epic in ever sense of the word and you did it sublime justice. Keep doing what you do!
You gotta wonder and it would be cool if billy checks out some of his music covers on TH-cam from fans. And if he ever sees this one he has to have one of those corgan grins watching this tribute …
First of all - fucking sick. Just seriously blown away (no pun intended). Serious question - how do you not blow the guitar way out of tune with all that torque? again.... sick.
I'm as surprised as anyone else when this guitar doesn't go out of tune aha The Jaguar and Jazzmaster just have a very stable tremelo system. I also put graphite powder on the nuts of my guitars which helps the strings slide freely.
Incredible! Want to challenge you to play the other guitar parts as well and make a mix video. Looks like you even have a bass guitar back there! And turn down the volume of the original so we can hear you play more.
I’ve seen in the videos from 91-92 he plays this with a jag…did he record this with a jag? Easily top 3 sp songs of all time for me…been loving it since listening to pisces on cassette since ‘95
My timeline may be off but his Gish guitar was stolen around June '92 and I have always figured he started using the Jag live immediately after that in the Summer time gigs from that period and this was the Jag used to record Starla. He soon started playing Strats with Lace Sensor pick-ups which he would use up til late in the Mellon Collie tours. I've tried to play the song for many years and it wasn't until i started hammering the tremelo bar on a jag that I was able to even half imitate the sound you hear in the solo so I want to say at least the solo was recorded with a Jag but I could be wrong and it may just be a Strat.
I used a BBE 427 distortion pedal as the distortion sound and I may have used my TC Electronic cinders overdrive pedal on top of it for the solo. There is also a Boss RV-5 reverb pedal for a little space
Awesome cover man , would love to see you cover the soma solo!

What? Awsome! It takes a different kind of brain to do the Pumpkins thing. Truely impressive!
Absolutely incredible!!!!!
One of the greatest songs of all time and the best guitar solo ever performed double whammy
