I'm black and on Sunday mornings my grandmother would make big breakfast. We would have either fried chicken, pork chops, steak, scrapple or bacon and sausage. We would also have grits, fried potatoes with onions, eggs and biscuits. On holidays we would also have buttermilk pancakes and waffles. There was something for everyone. Now I will eat anything for breakfast including barbecue pulled pork or chicken.

Princessmom9 same here I'm black too and late mom or dad or aunt would do the cooking whenever I went down south for the summer as a kid. Those meals were so big I don't know how the hell they cooked all that stuff in 3 - 4 hours in the morning!

I know but they were so good to eat.

I am from the rural south and what you are describing are the kinds of country breakfasts my grandmother would occasionally make, too. We never had scrapple but maybe that got added by southerners who moved north?

My mum used to make a similar breakfast of bacon, sausages, eggs, black pudding,
baked beans, grilled tomatoes and mushrooms on Sunday! Add to that fried soda bread and yum!

I love cinnamon too! I put it on everything. My cereals, coffee, hot chocolate, buttered toast with cinnamon sugar was a childhood favorite of mine. In America you can sometimes find Cinnabon cereal and it's sooooo good.

Makes me wish McD's would do an 'ambassador' thing. Like having one McDonald's sell McDonald's India products (which sound AWESOME) outside of India in select locations. And of course Japan products in select locations! I would drive across this great nation to get food like that. XD

It's so interesting how blown away you were by the concept of a BBQ Muffin for breakfast! Here in Australia an *extremely* common breakfast item is called a BBQ egg & bacon roll, which is basically the same thing - a fried egg and some bacon in a bread roll slathered with BBQ sauce. I didn't realise that was an 'Aussie' thing until now! Goes to show how the term BBQ brings completely different connotations in different countries. In this case, it isn't anything like USA style low 'n slow BBQ, it simply refers to the BBQ sauce, which I will pretty much *only* reach for at breakfast to go with bacon or sausage on bread!

It's been years since I had a McDonald's breakfast sandwich. One of the interesting things is that their Egg McMuffins here are not served with ketchup and mustard. I think they only have butter on the English Muffins. These seem much more like lunch sandwiches, as you said. They are also very hearty! I love soup for breakfast, and I think it is a good idea. I suspect I would love Japanese breakfast. Thanks for the great video! :-)

It's really common to have BBQ sauce on breakfast sandwiches here in Aus. I didn't really consider it that weird, but I guess it is! You can go into most cafes and get egg and bacon rolls and they usually come with BBQ sauce. And of course McDonald's has their versions.

Southern breakfasts can have porkchops, fried chicken, and the more traditional bacon, ham, and sausage. Mind, we're talking a southern farmer's breakfast. Along with the meats there is typically eggs, grits, and toast.

I’d be all about the mini pancakes 🥞 and cinnamon melts😍. I’m not crazy about McDonalds. I prefer Bojangles and Chick-fil-a for fast food breakfasts. Chick-fil-a is my favorite fast food place, which, btw has chicken for breakfast too. I live in and was raised in the “BBQ belt” and bbq for breakfast sounds super weird to me but to each their own, if that’s what they like🤷‍♀️. ✌️❤️

Here in New Zealand, we do a McMuffin that's practically identical to your Mega Muffin.
We call it the Massive McMuffin, and we use rasher bacon instead of your Japanese equivalent. Other than that, it's pretty much the same and assembled in the same order too.
The Massive McMuffin has been on the McD's menu for nearly 20years

It always trips me out that these aren't a thing everywhere...
There was a reddit post that went viral about Australian tomato sauce packets a few years ago... Americans being like 'why don't we have these?' and Australians being like 'wait, you don't have these?'
Plot twist: they were invented in the US... in the 80s.
Why they never took off there is beyond me.

The fried chicken muffin is just like the ones from Chick-fil-A here in the U.S. It's a chain of southern style, chicken based foods. They have tried chicken breast sandwiches on the BEST, buttery, buttermilk biscuits EVER. They're DELICIOUS. You two NEED to try them the next time you visit California. Also, the "mustard mayo" on that sandwich you had was probably an attempt at honey mustard. It's popular here in The States.

    Speaking of 🐟
The Filet-O-Fish at McD’s has a very interesting story itself.
In the 1960’s McDonalds had a “Hula Burger” was created to compete with the Filet-O-Fish, which was created by a sole McD’s franchisee, who created the fish sandwich to have something available for those who don’t eat meat on Friday.
The “Hula Burger”- did not last long and the Filet-O-Fish was adopted the the chain and went on to McD’s legend status .
